For a vehicle without a fixed parcel shelf an extension strap(s) may be needed. If so ring (02) 4728 8090 for nearest supply location. This restraint must be attached to a child restraint anchorage point in the car. Refer to car owner s handbook for location of anchorage points. Refer to a child restraint fitting station if no car anchorage points are in the motor vehicle. Before installation please read the whole instructions carefully on installation and if in doubt about the method of installation please consult Infa Products or a child restraint fitting station authorised by the relevant transport authority. In New Zealand, consult the agent for the vehicle. Connect and use the restraint exactly as shown in the instructions. Fit the restraint firmly to the car seat. Fit the harness firmly to the child. A loose restraint or harness is dangerous. Supervision of children is needed because they may be able to undo buckles. Repairs must only be done by the manufacturer or agent. Do not alter or modify this restraint. Do not allow the restraint to come into contact with polishes, oils, bleach and other chemicals. Destroy the restraint if it has been in a severe crash, even if no damage is visible. Seat belt extenders should not be used if the seat belt is not long enough to secure the child restraint. IMPORTANT: THIS RESTRAINT IS NOT SUITABLE FOR USE IN A HATCHBACK OR WAGON WHERE THE ANCHORAGE STRAP MAY FALL INTO A SPLIT IN THE SEAT BACK. DO NOT LEAVE CHILDREN UNATTENDED IN THE CAR CARE AND MAINTENANCE Regular care of the restraint will ensure safety of your child. (A) Check the webbing for fraying. (B) Check that the buckle clicks and is not sluggish or sticky in operation. (C) Ensure there are no cracks in moulding or the plastic moulding. (D) Check the harness adjuster is operating and is clamping the webbing. IMPORTANT: Care must be taken that food, sticky liquids (eg fruit juice, milk formulas, etc) does not get inside your harness buckle as it may become sluggish. If you do not hear an audible click when engaging the buckle it may mean it is becoming sluggish. Immediately contact Infa Products so that it can be cleaned and checked to ensure it is operating properly. 1

HOW TO INSTALL ANCHORAGE FITTINGS For vehicles fitted with anchorage points. This restraint must be attached to a child restraint anchorage point in the car. Refer to car owner s handbook for location of ancorage points. Refer to a child restraint fitting station if no anchorage points are in the motor car. Install the anchor bolt as shown in Figure 1A & 1B. Locate the anchorage point behind the rear seating position (consult the car owner s handbook for the location of the anchorage point). Remove the thread plug from the parcel shelf/ floor/roof and install the attachment bolt as shown in figure A. Front of Vehicle CAUTION: DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN ANCHOR BOLT. MAXIMUM TORQUE FORCE IS 20NM. OVERTIGHTENING MAY SNAP BOLT WARNING: If A.D.R. anchorage point is recessed, spacer(s) may be required. Spacer Part No s are as follows: 10mm - CCS001; 5mm - CCS002 The shaded areas show some of the possible locations of the anchor fitting. With each shaded area is an anchor fitting showing the correct way to install the fitting. The anchor fitting should be aligned as shown unless stated otherwise in the vehicle owner s handbook. anchor point If anchor point is less than 80mm from seat, install in this position. FOR VEHICLES NOT FITTED WITH ANCHORAGE POINTS FOR SEDANS ONLY Drill a 9mm diameter hole in the parcel shelf on the centre line of the seating position as shown in Figure 1D. Hole must be no closer than 200mm from the front of the back seat. Install the anchor bolt as shown in Figure 1C. Note to Queensland purchasers: The installation of anchorage points must be approved by authorised officers appointed by Queensland Transport. Authorised officers can be sourced from all Queensland Transport Customer Service and Queensland Ambulance Service Centres. FOR VEHICLES other than sedans CENTRE LINE OF SEATING POSITION For vehicles other than sedans consult your nearest child restraint fitting station or traffic authority for vehicle inspection to find the best, correct position for the placement of the anchorage point, and for the correct attachment bolt length and use of spacers. In New Zealand consult the agent of the vehicle. WARNING: CHILD RESTRAINTS MUST NOT BE ATTACHED TO UNSOUND METAL OR WOOD OR SYNTHETIC STRUCTURES. WHEN DRILLING THE 9MM HOLE DO NOT DRILL THROUGH FUEL LINES, FUEL TANKS, ELECTRICAL WIRING OR RADIO SPEAKERS. WEBBING STRAPS MUST BE PROTECTED FROM SHARP CORNERS AND EDGES. THE ANCHOR FITTING MUST BE USED ONLY AS DESCRIBED ABOVE. IT MUST NOT BE HOOKED ONTO ANY OTHER OBJECT. 2

HOW TO INSTALL: INFANT POSITION (0-9kg) For dimensions of restraint when installed, see Fig. 3C opposite. To be used only in a rearward-facing position for a child weighing up to 9kg and with a length of up to 700mm IMPORTANT: Do not use a rear facing child restraint where an airbag is fitted in front of the seating position. Normally this restraint is used in the rear seat but in certain vehicle types, e.g. sports cars/mini cars, etc. where the rear seat is too small, the only possible position is the front passenger seat, adjusted as rearward as possible. The tether strap must be attached to the anchorage point provided, and corresponding rear seating position should not be used. (An extension strap may be required to reach the anchorage point in certain instances.) [Extension strap Part No. CCS003.] NOTE: Check the measurements between the front of the seat back of the rear seat and all front seats in the car in which the child restraint is intended to be used, to ensure that the space is sufficient. PROCEDURE FOR REARWARD FACING MODE STEP 1 Your restraint has two red levers on it. One on the front of the body section and one on the base. Lift up the red recline lever on the body section and recline the body section as far as possible. (See Figures opposite on page 4). A STEP 2 Position restraint on vehicle seat so the higher section of the base is positioned against the vehicle seat back. (See Figure 3A or 3C opposite). The body section could face rearward or forwards at this stage. FIGURE 2A FIGURE 2B STEP 3 Extend the adult lap or lap/sash belt (as shown in Figure 2A). Holding the vehicle belt (as shown in Figure 2A) (note the position of the hands) loop it over the arm of the base section (position A in Figure FIGURE 2C FIGURE 2D FIGURES 2C and 2D ARE VIEWED FROM THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE CAR SEAT TO 2A, 2B AND 2E 2B). Still holding the belt as above slide the vehicle belt under the front of the car seat and around to the other side of the car seat. (Refer to Figure 2B and 2C important Figures 2C and 2D are viewed from the opposite side of the car seat to Figures 2A and 2B). Loop the vehicle belt over the arm of the base as shown in Figures 2D and engage the buckle tongue of the vehicle belt with the buckle (Refer to Figure 2D). STEP 4 Pull the sash (shoulder) section of the vehicle seat belt very tightly by holding the sash section with one hand and the car seat with the other (Refer to Figure 2E). It sometimes helps to rock the car seat as you pull the sash section. Fit the metal double T belt clamp to clamp the sash and lap sections of the vehicle belt together (see page 11) for further instructions). The correct position of the double T belt clamp is shown in Figure 4. FIGURE 2E STEP 5 Ensure the body section is facing the rear of the vehicle (i.e. as in Figure 3C). If it is facing the front of the vehicle (as in Figure 3A), push down the Turn-A-Tot lever located at the front of the base and swivel the body section through 180º so it faces the rear of the vehicle (see Figure 3B and 3C). HOW TO INSTALL : CHILD POSITION (8-18kg) FORWARD FACING MODE FIGURE 8 STEP 1 Move the upper anchorage strap (B) from the front position used for the rearward facing mode to the rear of the seat. (See figure 8). Normally it will be necessary to shorten the length of the upper anchorage strap when changing from rearward to forward facing mode. FIGURE 9 FIGURE 10 STEP 2 At the front of your Seat is the RED LEVER. Pull the RED LEVER upwards and slide seat section towards the rear of the base, so that the MODE Arrow on the seat is within the Shaded triangle area (See Fig. 9). This allows for a full sit-up position or recline positions depending on your child s comfort. STEP 3 Place the restraint with the back of child restraint against back of vehicle seat, directly in line with anchorage point (See Figure 10). PAGE 6

HOW TO INSTALL CHILD POSITION (8-18kg) FORWARD STEP 4 Extend the adultlap or lap/sash belt (as shown in Figure12A). Holding the vehicle belt (as shown in Figure 12A) (note the position of the hands) loop it over the arm of the base section (position A in Figure 12B). Still holding the belt as above slide the vehicle belt under the front of the car seat and around to the other side of the car seat. (Refer to Figure 12B and 12C IMPORTANT. Figures 12C and 12D are viewed from the opposite side of the car seat to Figures 12A and 12B). Loop the vehicle belt over the arm of the base as shown in Figures 12D and engage the buckle tongue of the vehicle belt with the buckle (Refer to Figure 12D). The anchor must be secured as per instructions on page 2. Tighten the upper anchorage strap until slack removed. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN. STEP 6 Pull the sash (shoulder) section of the vehicle seat belt very tightly by holding the sash section with one hand and the car seat with the other (Refer to Figure 12E). It sometimes helps to rock the car seat as you pull the sash section. Fit the metal double T belt clamp to clamp the sash and lap sections of the vehicle belt together (see page 11) for further instructions). The correct position of the double T belt clamp is shown in Figure 10 (previous page). FIGURE 12E

TO REMOVE COVER STEP 1 Do Steps 1 to 3 from to change the shoulder slot height on page 8. STEP 2 STEP 3 CARE OF THE RESTRAINT Disengage the buckle and tongues. Push the buckle through the crotch slot in the cover. Pull the cover up and through the shoulder strap webbing and buckle tongues. Do NOT remove the harness from under the seat. Once cover is removed, click the buckle tongues back into the buckle for safe keeping. TO REPLACE COVER STEP 1 Disengage buckle tongues from the buckle. STEP 2 Feed shoulder strap webbing and buckle tongues through the thigh slot holes in the cover. STEP 3 Feed buckle through the crotch slot hole of the cover. STEP 4 Do Steps 4 and 5 from to change the shoulder slot height on page 8. STEP 1 STEP 2 STEP 3 TO REMOVE HARNESS Slide the harness shoulder straps out through the gates in the metal spreader plate. (See Fig. 15 on page 8). Pull the harness shoulder straps through the shoulder slots to the front of the restraint. Disengage buckle tongues from the buckle. Push one of the buckle tongues and shoulder straps through the thigh harness slot on one side and under the seat and then out through the other thigh harness slot. The harness is now removed. TO REPLACE THE HARNESS STEP 1 Place one end of the harness through the required shoulder slot hole (See Arrow 1 in Fig. 18) then up and over the shoulder rod (See Arrow 2 in Fig. 18) and connect to the metal spreader plate by passing the webbing through the gate (See Arrow 3 on Fig. 18 and Fig. 15 on Page 8). STEP 2 Feed the other end of the harness and the buckle tongue through the thigh slot (See Arrows 4 in Fig. 18). STEP 3 Continue to feed the end of the harness and the buckle tongue in the gap BETWEEN THE SEAT SHELL AND THE METAL SLIDE in the direction of Arrows 5 and 6 in Fig. 19 and up through the other thigh slot (See Arrow 7 in Fig. 19). SHOULDER ROD SLOT HOLES METAL SPREADER PLATE BUCKLE TONGUE THIGH SLOT SEAT SHELL FIGURE 18 THIGH SLOT STEP 4 Engage buckle tongues in the buckle and feed the end of the harness through the required shoulder slot hole (See Arrow 8 in Fig. 20). Ensure that the shoulder slot hole is the same level as used in Step 1. FIGURE 19 SEAT BASE STEP 5 Pass the end of the harness over the shoulder rod (See Arrow 9 in Fig. 20) and then down to the metal spreader plate and secure through the gate. (See Arrow 10 in Fig. 20). STEP 6 Test the harness is securely fastened and is without any twisting. Ensure buckle is in the middle of the restraint. Installation of the Double T fitting FOR USE WITH LAP/SASH VEHICLE SEAT BELTS - IN BOTH REARWARD AND FORWARD MODES. TO INSTALL Once adult lap/sash seat belt is positioned through restraint base (refer installation instructions) and secured into its buckle, pull the sash (shoulder) section webbing through base towards you in the direction of the large arrow on the sketches. When tight, feed edges of the double seat belt webbing into DOUBLE T FITTING. (as in illustration) The lap section is now tightly holding your child restraint in place independent of sash section as shown in illustration. If it is non-retractor, lap/sash seat belt tighten the sash section. WARNING: ENSURE WEBBING PASSES THROUGH THE DOUBLE T FITTING WITH NO WRINKLES OR PUCKERS. THE CAR SEAT SHOULD NOW BE REASONABLY SECURE ON THE SEAT. USE WITH LAP BELT ONLY (NORMALLY CENTRE SEAT POSITION) This applies to the forward, or rearward facing models. (1) Buckle adult lap belt reasonably thigh through the restraint base (refer installation instructions) (2) Release the seat belt buckle. (3) Reduce the adult lap belt length by another 25mm. (While doing this, it may make it easier to move the car seat to one side) (4) Position the double T fitting on the double section of the seat belt webbing by feeding edges of the double section into the double T fitting. (see figures 1 and 2) (5) Pass the adult seat belt through the restraint base and secure the adult seat belt buckle (it may require a little pressure on the care seat into the vehicle seat when doing up the buckle to ensure it is secured firmly. If necessary the seat belt can be tightened by more than 25mm to hinder movement of the care seat. (6) Complete installation according to the installation instructions.
