SPORTS MANAGEMENT AND MARKETING (EBI MASTER) LEVEL 1-3RD EDITION A.Y. 2015-2016 Presentation The Master in Sports Management and Marketing (EBI) represents the transformation of a higher education course first held by Ca Foscari University of Venice in collaboration with Euroleague Basketball in 2007 into a university Master. The request to develop and provide a Master s Programme comes directly from the sports business world which requires increasingly high levels of professional managerial expertise, in particular Euroleague Basketball, which has realized the need to increase the skills of European sports club managers with regard to marketing and communication. The Master represents an innovative solution to training and learning based on an e-learning approach, which enables the necessary quality and flexibility for working students from different countries to participate. It deals with subjects concerning the management and marketing of sports businesses as well as the marketing of companies producing sports, products and services, including communication agencies. The course, in English, aims to give students the ability to learn and use the methods and tools for market analysis and planning marketing activities required by sports clubs and firms producing goods and services for sport, in a highly internationalized context. Aims The Course aims to develop four professional profiles: sports club marketing managers, sports club communication managers, sports arena and event managers, and marketing managers of sports product companies. It should be pointed out that the relevant employment market and educational requirement relate to the international and in particular European context, and not solely the Italian one. Italian students to date have accounted for 10% of enrolments. The course is highly international in character. 1
