2 General information General information This manual contains information, recommendations, advice and warnings related to your radio system. The other publications in the on-board documentation contain further information of which you should be aware for your own safety and for that of your passengers. Ensure that the on-board documentation is kept in the car at all times. This is especially important when lending or selling the car to another person. This manual contains a description of the equipment supplied with the car at the time of press. Some of the units described herein will not be available until a later date or is only available in certain markets. The illustrations are intended as a general guide and may vary from the equipment fitted in your car in some details. The screen colour and the colour of the information displayed on it can vary according to car model. The images in this manual correspond to the colour screen variant, there is also a monochrome screen option. WARNING Texts preceded by this symbol contain information on safety. They warn you about possible dangers of accident or injury. CAUTION Texts with this symbol draw your attention to potential sources of damage to your car. Important Information 3 Important Information Important Information. Traffic safety Travelling on today's roads requires the driver's full attention at all times. Only operate the radio and its various functions when the traffic situation really permits this. WARNING Before starting the trip, you should familiarise yourself with the different radio functions. High audio volume may represent a danger to you and to others. Adjust the volume in a way that you can distinguish surrounding noise, for example, horns and sirens, etc. The radio setup should be adjusted when the car is stopped or by a passenger. Separate the radio card and keep it in a safe place, but never inside the car. If the card bearing the radio code is lost, go to a SEAT dealership, where you will be given help. The anti-theft coding does not need re-entering if the battery has only been disconnected. In this case, switch the ignition on before switching on the sound system. The card bearing the radio code is available according to the model of the car. 4 Introduction Introduction Before using the unit for the first time Before using the unit for the first time, carry out the following steps. This will enable you to use the unit safely and make full use of the functions it provides: Observe the basic safety notes. page 4. Familiarise yourself with the unit overview. page 6. Use suitable data media for Media mode. page 21. Safety notes WARNING Distracting the driver in any way can lead to an accident and cause injuries. Operating the infotainment system while driving can distract your attention from the traffic. Always drive carefully and responsibly. Select volume settings that allow you to easily hear signals from outside the car at all times (e.g. emergency service sirens). If you set the volume excessively high you may suffer damage to your ears. This can also happen if you are exposed to an excessively high volume even for a short time. WARNING The volume level may suddenly change when you switch audio source or connect a new audio source. Reduce the base volume before switching audio source or connecting a new audio source page 9. WARNING Connecting, inserting or removing a data medium while driving can distract your attention from the traffic and cause an accident. WARNING Connecting leads for external devices may obstruct the driver. Arrange the connecting leads so that they do not obstruct the driver. WARNING External devices that are placed loose in the car or not properly secured could be flung though the interior during a sudden driving or braking manoeuvre, or in the event of an accident. Never, for any reason, fit the external units on the doors, on the windscreen, on or near the area marked AIRBAG on the steering wheel, on the dash panel, on the seat backrests or between these areas and the passengers. These units may cause serious injury in the event of an accident, especially if the airbag is activated.

Introduction 5 WARNING The centre armrest may obstruct the driver's arm movements, which could cause an accident and severe injuries. Always keep the armrest closed while the car is in motion. WARNING Opening a CD player's housing may lead to injuries from invisible laser radiation. Only have CD players repaired by a specialised workshop. Not inserting the data medium correctly, or inserting unsuitable data media, may damage the unit. When inserting the memory card, make sure it is in the correct position page 26 If you push too hard, you could damage the lock on the memory card slot. Only use suitable memory cards. When inserting and removing CDs, always hold them at right angles to the front of the unit. Inserting or removing them at an angle to the drive may lead to scratching page 25. The CD slot is equipped with a lock function. Do not force CDs into the slot. The unit must be prepared for loading before a CD can be inserted page 25. If you insert a CD while another is being ejected, this could damage the CD player unit. Always wait until the CD has been ejected! Any foreign objects attached to a data medium and non-round data media can damage the CD player. Only use standard 12 cm CDs! Do not stick stickers or other items to the data medium. Stickers may peel off and damage the drive. Do not use printable data media. Films and stickers may peel off and damage the drive. Do not insert CDs or DVDs that are singles (8 cm) or are not round (shape-cds). Do not insert DVD-Plus discs, Dual Discs or Flip Discs, as these are thicker than normal CDs. The maximum length of a USB device connected to the port of the car is 55 mm with the glove compartment closed. If the volume is too high or the sound is distorted, the car speakers may be damaged.

8 Introduction General operating information Introduction Lightly pressing the buttons or briefly pressing the touchscreen is sufficient to operate the unit. It is possible that not all the functions and function buttons are available as the software of the unit responds to the specific characteristics of each market. A missing function button on the screen is not the result of an error in the unit. Due to country-specific legislation, certain functions cannot be selected on the screen when the car is travelling above a certain speed. Using a mobile phone inside the car can cause noise in the speakers. There may be restrictions on the use of Bluetooth devices in some countries. Information is available from the local authorities. In some cars equipped with a parking distance warning system, the volume of the audio source is automatically lowered when the gear is engaged. Rotary/push knobs and buttons Rotary/push knobs The left-hand rotary/push knob Fig. 1 1 is referred to as the volume control or the on/off switch. Infotainment buttons The unit buttons are represented in these instructions with the word "infotainment button" and a symbol with blue content (for example: MEDIA infotainment button Fig. 1. The infotainment buttons are operated by pressing them or holding them down. Switching on and off To switch the unit on or off manually, briefly press the rotary/push knob Fig. 1 1. When the unit is switched on the system starts up. The last active audio source will be played with the volume set, as long this does not exceed the maximum, predefined switch-on volume page 48. The unit will switch off automatically when the car key is removed. If you turn the unit back on after the engine has been switched off, it will turn off automatically after approximately 30 minutes (delayed switch-off). The unit is linked to the car. It cannot be used in any other car. If only the battery has been disconnected from the car, the car must be started before turning the unit back on. The right-hand rotary/push knob Fig. 1 4 is referred to as the setting knob.

Search for an element in the list by turning the setting knob: each entry on the list will appear marked, one-by-one, until you find your desired entry. Press the setting knob to activate the selected list entry. Scrolling through the list If a list contains more elements than can be viewed on the screen, a scroll bar will be shown on the right of the screen Fig. 4.

Introduction 11 Moving through a list, line-by-line: turn the setting knob. To quickly scan through a long list: Place your finger on the scroll marker and move it downwards over the screen without losing contact. Lift your finger off the screen when you reach the desired position. Additional information and display options The information on the screen can vary depending on the setup and may differ from the descriptions shown here. The main screens show the current time and outside temperature. All information is displayed just after fully starting up the infotainment system.

Foil or metal-coated stickers attached to the windows may affect reception on cars with a window aerial. In the RADIO main menu you can store stations of the frequency band selected at that time, using the 12 numbered function buttons. These function buttons are called "stored station buttons". Activating a station using the stored station buttons Change the group of stored station buttons View the stored station buttons Storing stations in stored station buttons Press the stored station button corresponding to the required station. Activate a stored station using the stored station button only if it can be received in the place where you are at that moment. Press the function button, BAND Fig. 7. If the radio text can be seen, but the stored station buttons cannot, press radio text to display the stored station buttons again. See: Store stations table on page 15.

Audio mode 15 Storing stations Storing the station that you are listening to in one of the stored station buttons Storing a station from the station list in one of the stored station buttons Deleting a stored station Scan function (SCAN) Hold down the desired stored station button Fig. 8 until you hear the signal. The station that you are listening to will be stored in this button. Press the function button, Stations Fig. 8 to open the station list. Press and hold the station you want to select on the screen until it appears. Press the stored station button you where you want to store the station until the storing screen is displayed. A signal will sound and the station will then be saved in that stored station button. To continue to store stations from the list, press back and repeat the process. The stored stations can be deleted one-by-one or all at once in the FM AM setup menu. When the scan function is running, all available stations on the current frequency band are played in sequence for around 5 seconds each. Start station scan function End station scan function Briefly press the setting knob. OR: Press the function button, Setup and then select SCAN Press the function button OFF to stop the scan function on the station you are listening to. OR: Briefly press the setting knob. The scan function also ends when you manually select a station using the stored station buttons, or when a traffic report comes in. Autostore (automatic station storing) Hold the RADIO button down for approximately 5 seconds to carry out the autostore function for the stations that can be tuned in at the time of running the Autostore. The stations are stored in the stored station buttons (only the first bank of each frequency band is stored). This function can take several minutes, during which time the radio will remain muted. In addition, any stored stations assigned previously will be deleted. Radio data services RDS The RDS (Radio Data System) offers additional information in FM such as the visualisation of the station name, automatic station tracking (Alternative Frequencies), text emitted by radio (Radio Text) and traffic reports (TP). Not all units have RDS, nor do all FM stations offer this service. Without RDS it is not possible to obtain radio data services. The broadcasting companies are responsible for the content broadcast. If you detect functional errors in the RDS system of your country, you can deactivate the function in the FM advanced setup menu.

16 Audio mode Station name and automatic station tracking When driving, the automatic station tracking automatically changes to the frequency that provides the best reception of the currently-selected station. However, this can interrupt the regional station currently tuned. The automatic change of frequencies and automatic station tracking can be linked through the FM setup page 19. When the RDS is available, you can view the names of the stations providing this service in the RADIO main menu and in the list of FM stations. The FM stations send different content under one name (for example, Radio 3) in various regional frequencies, provisionally or permanently Fig. 11. Some RDS-enabled stations also broadcast additional text information known as radio text.

Audio mode 17 TP (Traffic Program) traffic news function Switching the TP function on and off In the menu Setup (FM, AM), press the function button Traffic Program TP to activate or deactivate this function page 19. If the station you are listening to at that time does not have the TP function, on the top right of the screen, TP will be displayed crossed out. Active TP function and station selection While the traffic news monitoring is operative, in audio mode TP will be displayed half-way up the screen on the left Fig. 13. In this case, the traffic reports of the current station or of the station that broadcasts the corresponding traffic information will be played. In FM mode, the station tuned in must have the TP function. If, after activating the TP function, you manually select or use the stored station buttons to select a station that does not have the TP function, it will not check if there are traffic reports (display: TP crossed out). When the traffic report station that is tuned in stops being received, TP will also be displayed crossed out, and you must search for a station manually. During operation in AM or Media mode, a traffic report station is always set automatically in the background, provided there is one that can be tuned in. Depending on your location, this process can take some time. Fig. 14 Standard representation: Station list with TP indication. Traffic news monitoring with the TP function is only possible if the TP station is available. The traffic report stations are indicated in the Radio main menu and in the station list by displaying TP Fig. 13 and Fig. 14. Some stations that do not have their own traffic news support the TP function by broadcasting traffic reports from other stations (EON). Reception of a traffic report An incoming traffic report will interrupt the active audio mode. During the broadcast of the traffic report a pop-up window will appear and, if necessary, the radio will change to the station of the traffic report (EON) for the duration of the broadcast. Media mode is interrupted and the volume is adjusted according to the preset volume page 48.

18 Audio mode The volume of the traffic report can be modified with the volume control Fig. 1 1. The modified volume will be stored for future traffic reports. Press the function button Cancel to end the current traffic report. The TP function remains activated. OR: Press the function button Deactivate to end the current traffic report and deactivate the TP function. This can be reactivated in the setup menu.

Audio mode 19 Setup (FM, AM) FM setup Select the frequency band FM by pressing the infotainment button RADIO. Press the function button Setup to open the menu FM setup. Function button: effect SCAN : scan function. When the scan function is running, all available stations on the current frequency band are played in sequence for around five seconds each page 15. Traffic program : TP function (traffic news monitoring) activated page 17 a) Radio text : radio text is activated page 16. a) Search mode : determines the settings of the arrow buttons and. The setup will only be stored for the current band (FM, AM). Station list : All available stations on the selected frequency band can be selected with the arrow buttons. Memory : Using the arrow buttons, only switches between the stored stations. Sort by : choose the mode in which the stations will be arranged a). Group : group the stations. Alphabetically : sort by alphabetical order. Delete presets : deletes the stored stations (all or separately). All stored stations are deleted (FM 1, FM 2, FM 3). To delete stations individually, select the required memory bank. Then press the stored station button of the station to delete. Advanced setup : setup of the radio data services RDS. Function button: effect Radio data system (RDS) : radio data system (RDS) activated page 15. With the checkbox deselected, the functions depending on the RDS system will not be available. The function buttons depending on the RDS system will remain inactive (in grey). Alternative frequency (AF) : the automatic station tracking is active. If the checkbox is deselected, automatic station tracking is switched off. The function button Regional RDS will remain inactive (in grey). a) Regional RDS : determines the setup for the regional automatic station tracking via the RDS page 15 a). Fixed : only the alternative frequencies of the station tuned in that are adjusted to the same regional programme will be adjusted. Automatic : it will always change to the frequency of the station set that offers the best reception at that time, even if it means interrupting a regional broadcast. a) If the function button is switched off (in grey), you must first activate the function button radio data system (RDS). Audio mode 21 Media mode Introduction Media sources are audio sources containing audio files on various different data media (for example, external MP3 player). These audio files can be played by the infotainment system from its corresponding drives or audio input sockets (internal CD changer, memory card slot, AUX-IN multi-media socket etc.). Media source and audio file requirements Factory-fitted CD players conform to safety class 1 according to standard DIN IEC 76 (CO) 6/ VDE 0837. The unit only accepts 12-cm standard CDs and memory cards with the dimensions 32 mm x 24 mm x 2.1 mm or 1.4 mm. The supported file formats listed are collectively referred to below as "audio files". CDs containing this type of audio file are referred to as audio data CD. The audio coding technology MPEG-4 HE-AAC and patents have a Fraunhofer IIS licence. This product is protected by copyright and property rights of Microsoft Corporation. Using or distributing similar technology outside of this product without a licence from Microsoft or any of its authorised subsidiaries is prohibited. The infotainment system allows you to view, play and manage compatible audio files only. Other files are ignored. Consult the list of supported devices on the web.

Information can be found on the internet regarding the best ways to create audio files and data media (compression rate, ID3 tag etc.). Depending on the size, its condition due to use (copy and delete processes), the folder structure and file type, the read time of the data media used can vary considerably. Playlists only determine a certain playing order. There are no files stored in a playlist. The unit will not play a playlist if the files are not on the data medium at the locations referred to by the playlist (relative file paths). Do not use adaptors for memory cards. We will not accept any responsibility for files damaged or lost on the data medium. a) Bluetooth is a registered trademark of Bluetooth SIG, Inc. Restrictions and notes Contamination, exposure to high temperatures and mechanical damage may render a data medium unusable. Observe the instructions of the data medium manufacturer. Variations in the quality of data media produced by different manufacturers may lead to anomalies during playback. Observe copyright laws!

Push the CD into the CD slot only to the point where it is drawn in automatically. When the CD is inserted, the play function will start automatically.

26 Audio mode Ejecting CDs Depending on the country, in convertible cars the key must be in the ignition to be able to eject a CD (anti-theft protection). Press the unit button. The CD in the drive will be ejected and must be removed within 10 seconds. If you do not remove the CD in the following 10 seconds, it will be drawn back in for safety reasons, without changing to CD mode. Unreadable or defective CD If the data on the inserted CD cannot be read or the CD is damaged, the corresponding indication will be shown on the screen. Depending on the unit, when a CD cannot be read it will retry three times, ejecting and reinserting the CD, before showing the indication. Uneven road surfaces and strong vibrations may cause the CD to jump. If the interior temperature of the unit is too high, it will not accept or play the CD. If you insert a number of different CDs and receive the message CD drive error every time, contact a specialised workshop. Inserting and removing memory cards Inserting a memory card If a memory card cannot be inserted, make sure it is positioned correctly and is compatible with the unit. Playback starts automatically if supported audio files are stored on the memory card. Removing a memory card The memory card inserted must be prepared before it is ejected. Press the function button Setup to open the menu Media setup. Press the function button, Eject SD card safely. After the system closes the memory card, a message will appear on the screen indicating that the card can be removed. Press the memory card inserted. The memory card jumps to the eject position. Remove the memory card. Unreadable memory card If you insert a memory card containing data that cannot be read, the unit will not change to memory card mode after loading. It will show the corresponding indication.

Audio mode 27 External media player connected via Bluetooth In Bluetooth audio mode, audio files from an external audio source that is connected via Bluetooth, for example a mobile phone (Bluetooth audio playback), can be played over the car speakers. The Bluetooth audio source must be compatible with the Bluetooth A2DP profile. Starting sound transmission via Bluetooth Reduce the base volume of the infotainment system. Pair or connect the Bluetooth audio source with the Bluetooth interface from the mobile preinstallation, according to the operating instructions. Playing through the car speakers In Media Setup, the default setup Bluetooth audio autoplay is switched off. After making the connection with the Bluetooth audio source, Bluetooth audio mode must be selected manually. If you require the system to change to Bluetooth audio automatically each time the connection is established with the connected Bluetooth audio source, you can activate the setup Bluetooth audio autoplay in Media Setup. In the MEDIA main menu, press the function button, MEDIA Fig. 17 and select Bluetooth audio. Once playback of the Bluetooth audio source has finished, the infotainment system will remain in Bluetooth audio mode. Media players with the AVRCP Bluetooth profile, the playback of the Bluetooth audio source can be started and stopped automatically when changing to Bluetooth audio mode, or to another audio source. In addition, it is possible to view or change the track via the infotainment system. It is possible to connect a device as a player and another as hands-free at the same time. Due to the large number of different Bluetooth audio sources available, it is not possible to guarantee fault-free operation of all functions described here. Deactivate the service and warning sounds of a connected Bluetooth audio source (for example, the key tones of the mobile phone) to avoid interference noise and anomalies in the operation. To play music, do not link the external media player simultaneously to Bluetooth and the USB interface of the infotainment system, as this can cause limitations during playback. Depending on the external player connected, the response time of the system can vary. Controlling playback The extent to which the Bluetooth audio source can be controlled via the infotainment system depends on the Bluetooth audio source connected.

Please read and observe the external audio source manufacturer operating manual. Interference noise may be heard if the external audio source is powered from the 12-volt power socket of the car. If the sound from the external audio source is too low, if possible, increase the output volume on the external audio source. If this is not sufficient, increase the input volume. If the sound from the connected external audio source is too loud or distorted, if possible, lower the output volume on the external audio source. If this is not sufficient, reduce the input volume.

Audio mode 31 Instructions for connecting data media To play music, do not simultaneously link the external media player to the infotainment system using Bluetooth and the USB/AUX-IN multimedia interface, as this can cause limitations in the playback. The use of USB cable extensions and USB hubs may cause operating errors. Fig. 22 USB/AUX-IN multimedia interface. Connection and use In the case of multimedia players and depending on the battery charge and the quantity of data, it may take a few minutes for them to be ready for use. If the data medium has several partitions, only the first partition will be recognised. Take into account all other instructions and limitations regarding requirements for media sources page 21. Read and bear in mind the manufacturer's instruction manual for the external data medium. The connecting adaptor used must not be crushed or bent sharply. Before connecting or playing an external data medium, turn down the volume on the infotainment system page 9. Connecting and disconnecting external data media Connect a 3.5 mm Jack cable to the AUX-IN interface (the cable is not supplied). If necessary, switch on the external data medium or select the appropriate data mode.

32 Audio mode Regardless of any indications to the contrary that there may be on the matter, the external data medium can be disconnected from the USB/AUX-IN multimedia interface at any time without losing the data. Operating the infotainment system An external data medium that is correctly connected to the USB/AUX-IN multimedia interface can be operated using the infotainment system. In the MEDIA menu press the function button, MEDIA Fig. 23. In the pop-up window, press the function buttons USB or AUX. Other operations with the external data medium (changing tracks, selecting tracks and activating playback modes) are carried out as described in the corresponding chapters page 28. PHONE mode* 33 PHONE mode* Introduction to phone management The telephone functions described below can be managed through the infotainment system provided a mobile phone is paired and connected to the infotainment system. Pairing and connecting a mobile phone to the infotainment system. The requirement for establishing a connection between a mobile phone and the infotainment system is that the mobile phone has Bluetooth. When there is no mobile phone paired with the infotainment system, phone management is not available. Please refer to the notes on how to use mobile phones in cars without connection to the exterior antenna Booklet Instruction Manual, chapter Accessories and technical modifications. WARNING Making calls and managing the preinstallation for mobile phones while driving can distract you from the traffic and cause an accident. You should always drive with due care and attention. Select volume settings that allow you to easily hear signals from outside the car at all times (e.g. emergency service sirens). In areas with no or poor network coverage, under certain circumstances in tunnels, garages and underpasses, phone conversations may cut out or it may be impossible to make calls, even in an emergency. WARNING A loose or incorrectly secured mobile phone could be thrown inside the car and cause injury in the event of sudden manoeuvres, braking or accidents. While driving, the mobile phone must always be correctly secured, outside of the working radius of the airbag. WARNING If you carry a mobile phone that is switched on directly over a pacemaker, this may cause interference in its functioning. Between the antenna of the mobile phone and the pacemaker there must be a minimum distance of 20 centimetres for the mobile phone not to affect the functioning of the pacemaker. Do not carry your mobile phone in your breast pocket, directly over the pacemaker, when it is switched on. If you suspect your mobile phone is causing interference, switch it off immediately. Phone conversations inside the car can be affected by high speed, poor atmospheric conditions and the road surface, as well as by the quality of the network. The instructions that appear on the screen related to the menu of each phone depend on the mobile phone used. There may be differences.

34 PHONE mode* Take into account the instruction manuals of the mobile phone and the supplier of the accessories, and any instructions for using the headset. In areas with poor coverage there may be anomalies in the reception and calls may be interrupted. Consult the compatibility list to ensure your mobile phone will work properly. If you detect any strange behaviour between your mobile phone and the radio, restart your mobile by switching it off and on again. Most electronic devices are shielded against high-frequency radio signals. On certain occasions, nevertheless, electronic equipment might not be protected against the radio frequency signals of the phone management (Phone). This may produce interference. Places with special regulations Switch off the mobile phone and the preinstallation for mobile phones in places with risk of explosion. These areas are common but are not always clearly marked in Introduction to phone management on page 33. They include, for example: Areas with piping and reservoirs containing chemical products. Below deck, on boats and ferries. Near cars that run on liquefied gas (such as propane or butane). In places where there are chemical substances or particles such as flour, dust or metal chips in the air. In any other place where you must turn off the engine of your car. WARNING Switch off your mobile phone in places with risk of explosion! Your mobile phone will automatically connect to the mobile phone network as soon as the Bluetooth connection is cut from the mobile preinstallation. In areas with special requirements and where the use of mobile phones is prohibited, you must keep the mobile phone and its preinstallation switched off at all times. The radiation emitted by mobile phones when switched on can cause interference in sensitive technical and medical equipment, which could damage this equipment or cause it to stop working properly. Pairing and connecting your mobile phone to the infotainment system To operate a mobile phone through the infotainment system, you need to pair the devices one time only. For your safety, we recommend you carry out this connection when the car is stationary. In some countries you cannot perform the pairing with the car running. You must guarantee the following setup in the mobile phone and the infotainment system:

PHONE mode* 35 The Bluetooth function must be active and visible on the mobile phone and infotainment system, respectively. The keypad lock of the mobile phone must be disconnected. The notification and key tones of your mobile phone must be disconnected. In some countries, after switching the ignition on, the Bluetooth function of the infotainment system must be activated or remain visible for around 3 minutes. During the pairing process you must enter data using your mobile phone's keypad. To do so, you must have your mobile phone to hand. Once the pairing is complete, the schedule and call lists stored in your mobile phone will be loaded. The duration of the loading process depends on the amount of data stored on your mobile phone. When the loading process is complete, the data will be available to the infotainment system. Starting pairing from the system Make sure the mobile device is active and visible. Press the PHONE unit button. Press the function button Find. OR: Press the PHONE unit button. Press the Setup function button. Press the function button Select phone and then Find. The search process can take up to 1 minute. On the screen the system will dynamically update the names of the Bluetooth devices found. Select the mobile phone to which you want to pair from the list of Bluetooth devices found. Select the profile you want to connect: Connect all profiles: will connect all the profiles available by mobile and compatible with the system Hands-free: will connect the hands-free profile Bluetooth audio: will connect the Bluetooth audio profile The infotainment system and the mobile phone will now be connected to each other. In certain circumstances, it is possible that to finish the connection between the two devices, you must enter additional data in the mobile phone and infotainment system. If necessary, confirm the pairing request in the mobile phone. Use your mobile phone to enter and confirm your PIN code, as indicated in the display of the infotainment system. OR: Compare the PIN code shown in the display of the infotainment system with the PIN code that appears on the mobile phone. If they coincide, you must confirm it on both devices. Once pairing is complete, the PHONE main menu will be shown. Pairing and connecting mobile phones You can pair up to 20 mobile phones to the infotainment system, but only one mobile phone can be connected as hands-free, and another device as a Bluetooth audio profile. When you turn on the infotainment system the connection is automatically established with the mobile phone that was last connected. If it cannot establish a connection with that mobile phone, the phone manager will automatically try to establish a connection with the next mobile phone that appears on the list of linked devices. The working radius of the Bluetooth connection is a maximum of 10 metres. If this working radius is exceeded, the connection established through Bluetooth will be interrupted. The connection is automatically re-established as soon as this device comes back into the Bluetooth working radius.

36 PHONE mode* If the maximum number of paired devices is reached and you wish to pair another one to the system, it will automatically replace the one that has recently been used the least. If you wish to replace it with another one, the user must erase it beforehand. To do so: Press the unit button Setup within the phone context. Press the function button Bluetooth setup. Press the function button My devices. In the list of paired devices, press the function button remove after the mobile phone to be deleted and then press Delete to confirm the process. The behaviour may vary depending on the device connected. For some android mobile devices you must accept the request to access the PBAP phonebook after pairing, to be able to access the phonebook. It is recommended to activate the option always so as not to have to accept it every time you connect. General information Please refer to the notes on using a mobile phone in the car without connection to exterior antenna Booklet Instruction Manual, chapter Accessories and technical modifications. Only use devices that support Bluetooth. At your SEAT dealership, or on the Internet, you will find information about products that support Bluetooth. Take into account the instruction manual of the mobile phone and of the manufacturer of the accessories. In areas with poor coverage there may be anomalies in the reception and calls may be interrupted. Most electronic devices are shielded against radio frequency signals (highfrequency). On some occasions, nevertheless, electronic devices cannot be protected against the radio frequency signals from the phone manager. This may produce interference. There may be restrictions on the use of Bluetooth devices in some countries. Information is available from the local authorities. To connect the phone manager to a device via Bluetooth technology, read the corresponding instruction manual for the particular safety instructions. Only use products that support Bluetooth. Bluetooth Bluetooth Bluetooth technology is used to connect a mobile phone to the car's phone manager. To use the phone manager with a mobile phone with Bluetooth, the pairing process must be performed once. If a connection has already been established, some mobile phones with Bluetooth are recognised and a connection is established with them automatically when the ignition is switched on. For this purpose, the mobile phone and its Bluetooth must be switched on, and all the live Bluetooth connections with other devices must be closed. The Bluetooth wireless connection is free. Bluetooth is a registered trademark of Bluetooth SIG, Inc.

PHONE mode* 37 Bluetooth profiles When you connect a mobile phone to the phone manager, the data exchange is through one of the 2 Bluetooth profiles. PHONE main menu Hands-free Bluetooth profile (HFP): If a mobile phone is connected to the phone manager through the HFP, calls can be made wirelessly through the hands-free device. Advanced audio profile (A2DP): Bluetooth profile for transmitting audio signals with stereo quality. Description of the phone manager Some functions and settings can only be carried out when the car is stationary, and are not compatible with all mobile phones. Description 1) The phone manager described in these instructions is approved for use on the following networks: GSM 850, GSM 900, GSM 1800 and GSM 1900. With the help of the phone manager, up to 2 mobile phones can be connected to the infotainment system via the Bluetooth profiles (for example, one used as a Bluetooth-audio player and another as a hands-free phone). It is possible that some networks may not offer the characters of all languages, nor certain services. After the first connection, it will take a few minutes for the data from the phonebook of the paired mobile phone to be available in the infotainment system. 1) Depending on country

38 PHONE mode* Assign a user profile In phone management, the entries stored in the phone book and the call list are assigned to the user profile, and also stored in the user profile. As soon as you connect the corresponding mobile phone with the phone management, they will be available once more. If entries are modified in the phonebook of the mobile phone, you can update the phonebook data manually through the menu User profile setup page 42. Phone management lets you store a maximum of 4 user profiles for mobile phones. If you wish to pair/connect another mobile phone, the oldest user profile will automatically be replaced. When a number is saved in the phonebook, the call list will display the name that is stored instead of the phone number.

PHONE mode* 41 Possible displays in the Calls menu Display Meaning Missed: shows the numbers of calls that have been received but not answered. Dialled: shows the numbers that have been dialled using the mobile phone and phone manager of the infotainment system. Received: shows the numbers of the calls received by the mobile phone and phone manager of the infotainment system and that have been answered. The call list display will depend on the mobile phone used. Phonebook shortcut keys If there are no contacts that coincide with the chosen character, the entry that immediately follows is displayed. Pressing multiple times in quick succession will search for the characters on the inside of the button. To change the letters of the buttons, press and select the corresponding option on the button in the upper left A-Z or by pressing the Phone button. Phone setup In the main menu PHONE, press the Setup function button. Function button: effect Select phone : select the phone to be paired to the infotainment system, or press Find to connect a new device. User profile : opens the menu User profile setup page 42. Select ring tone : select a ring tone from the list of predefined tones. Bluetooth setup : opens the menu, Bluetooth setup page 42. Reverse order of call lists : with the checkbox selected, the call list entries are inverted (the oldest entry is shown at the top of the list). If your phone does not support the function, Select ring tone, this menu will be disabled. In these cases the melody determined in the mobile phone will sound in the car speakers when a call is received. The tones may not sound if the phone set to mute/vibrate. You are advised to configure your phone to audible.

42 PHONE mode* Bluetooth setup In the PHONE main menu, press the function button Setup and then press Bluetooth setup. Function button: effect Bluetooth : press to switch off the Bluetooth in the system. Visibility : activate and deactivate the Bluetooth visibility of the infotainment system using the function button. To pair a mobile phone to the infotainment system the visibility must be activated. With the setting At start-up, visibility is disabled after a certain time. If you have a Bluetooth audio device active and playing, the visibility is automatically set to not visible. Name : when you open this option it opens a keyboard, with which you can modify the default name of the device. My devices : shows the devices paired with the system. In this menu connection/disconnection of the required profiles of the Bluetooth device connections can be managed. When pressing a device a new screen will open with the available profiles. When a profile is pressed the system connects to this profile. If it is already connected to a profile it will disconnect the selected profile. Find : looks for Bluetooth devices that are switched on and visible within the working radius of the infotainment system. The working radius is approximately 10 metres. A2DP Bluetooth audio : function button that activates and deactivates the use of the radio as the Bluetooth receiver of the audio source. User profile setup In the main menu PHONE, press the function button Setup and then press User profile. Function button: effect Memory in use : Displays the number of total contacts downloaded that contain at least one phone number, maximum of 2000 phones. Sort by : determine the order sequence of the phonebook entries, by surname, first name, or by first name, surname. Import contacts : press to import the phonebook of the phone connected, or to update a phonebook that has already been imported. Some phones require a restart to download the last contacts added again.

CAR menu 43 CAR menu Introduction to managing the CAR menu CAR menu Press the Infotainment button, CAR, to access the following options, described below: COMPUTER STATUS TYRES ECO SETUP Booklet Instruction Manual, chapter System setup (CAR) Computer The onboard computer is equipped with 3 memories that work automatically. In these memories you can see the distance travelled, average speed, time passed, average consumption and range of the car. Since start Indicates and stores the values of the distance travelled and the consumption from when the ignition is switched on to when it is switched off. Since refuel Indicates and stores the values of the distance travelled and the consumption. When you refuel the memory will be deleted automatically. Long-term The memory records the values for a specific number of partial trips, up to a total of 19 hours and 59 minutes or 99 hours and 59 minutes, or 1999.9 km (or miles) for 9999 km (or miles), depending on the model of instrument panel. When one of these values is reached (depending on the version of the instrument panel), the memory is automatically deleted and it starts counting from 0 again. Setup 47 Setup Menu and system setup (SETUP) Function button: effect Bluetooth Setup *: Adjust Bluetooth setup Introduction Activate the setup main menu (SETUP) Press the infotainment button, MENU, to open the System setup main menu. System information : indication of the system information (device number, hardware and software version). Copyright : message with radio software licensing information. For all the infotainment systems to work properly, it is important to set the correct time and date in the car. Setup : opens the Sound setup menu Maximum switch-on volume : set the unit maximum volume when switching on. Traffic announcements : set the playback volume of the incoming messages (for example, traffic reports). Volume according to speed : determine the volume setting depending on the speed. The audio volume increases automatically as the speed increases. Acoustic touchscreen feedback : the feedback when you press a function button on the screen is activated. Volume AUX : determines the playback volume of the audio sources connected via AUX. Bluetooth audio : configure Bluetooth audio volume. When you close a menu, the changes will take effect automatically. Summary of the indications and function buttons Function button: effect Balance - Fader : adjust the orientation of the sound (balance/fader). The circle displays the current orientation of the sound inside the car. To centre the orientation of the sound in the passenger compartment, press the function button represented by two circles, located between the arrows, or adjust progressively using the arrow buttons.
