Income-Qualified Programs SoCalGas Energy Savings Assistance Program for Low-income Customers: offers no-cost energy-saving home improvements and furnace repair or replacement services for qualified limited-income renters and homeowners. To Qualify: 1) You or another person in the household must have received benefits from programs such as Medi-Cal/Medicaid, Women, Infants and Children (WIC), CalFresh/SNAP, SSI, etc. 2) Total income for all persons in your household meet income guidelines (ex: Household of four with a total yearly income of no more than $47,100). 3) For multifamily, property owners need to give permission and tenants need to qualify. 4) For multifamily, if the tenant is on CARE then they already qualify for ESAP if property is individually metered. x x x High-Efficiency Clothes Washer Replacement Cost x x x x Attic Insulation Cost Restrictions apply: Water heater energy source must be provided by So Cal Gas. Household must consist of at least four members. Existing clothes washer must be owned by customer, accessible and not exposed to the weather. A suitable location with acceptable floor and proper clearances must be available. A properly grounded electrical outlet must be located within reach of the washer s power cord. The customer must have an active SoCalGas account or must be a sub-metered residential customer. Shall not be installed if: the existing insulation level precludes raising the R-value, leaky roof, inadequate venting, hazardous electrical wiring, enclosed cavity, damaged space heating, limited attic accessibility, unsound structure. In addition, the final insulation level must be at least R-30 unless a higher level is specified by local jurisdiction. Attic insulation is feasible only when the attic crawl space is adequate. At highest peak, clearance between the bottom of the roof rafters and the top of the ceiling joists must be at least 24 inches. Garages and other nonliving areas do not qualify unless they are conditioned. If purchasing insulation, your rebate is based on the amount of insulation actually installed. Wall insulation is eligible for an incentive as long as existing walls are not insulated and are between conditioned living area and unconditioned area. The installed insulation must achieve a minimum of R-13. If purchasing insulation, your rebate is based on the about of insulation actually installed. Must haveenergy Factpr (EF) of 0.62 or greater and water heater capacity of 30 gal or greater. Instantaneous/tankless water heaters do not qualify. Must replace existing pool heater. Must be equal to or greater than 84% thermal efficiency, have an on/off switch and no pilot light. Must have 95% AFUE and be installed by a state licensed contractor with all applicable permits acquired. Must have a rated or measured capacity of 80 gallons or greater, minimum thermal efficiency of 82% and must provide hot water to building complex of two or more units. Instantaneous and tankless water heaters do not qualify. Rebate applies to new installations on existing natural gas-fired domestic hot water common systems serving multifamily dwelling units. Controllers must serve a multifamily building up to 34 units, provide the ability to lower temperatures during low use periods and have a by-pass switch for allowing service to boiler. CDWH system must be in proper working condition to qualify. (Reservation, pre- and post-inspection required.) call 1-888-431-2226. x x Gas Water Heater/Boiler Controller $1,400 Rebate applies to new installations on existing natural gas-fired domestic hot water common systems serving multifamily dwelling units. Controllers must serve a multifamily building of 35 units or greater, provide the ability to lower temperatures during low use periods and have a by-pass capability to allow service to boiler. CDWH system must be in proper working condition to qualify. (Reservation, pre- and post-inspection required.) x x Central System Gas Boiler (Water Heating or Water Heating & Space Heating) $1,500 Boiler must not be used for industrial end-use and replace existing gas equipment.
