TSAG Developments TSAG is where WTSA Preparatory work is focused TD359: Draft Report of 10-13 January 2012 TSAG meeting provides excellent summary of progress Final TSAG meeting before WTSA to be held 2-4 July 2012 TSAG has: o Established a Focus Group on Bridging the Gap: from Innovations to Standards o Established a Focus Group on Machine-to-Machine Communication/Internet of Things o Considered proposals on SG structure from Japan (C63 & C64), China (C65), Korea (C66) and others o TSAG noted the documents & agreed they would be considered by the CG on Work Program, chaired by Mr. Dmitry Cherkesov

TSAG Developments TSAG has: o Formed the view that the following principle, together with other options, be submitted to WTSA12 on Conformity & Interoperability Testing (CIT): Not all Recommendations need to contain a CIT clause For Recommendations where CIT language is appropriate, there is no need for every Recommendation to use the same CIT language All WTSA Resolutions are subject to review; principally, in the TSAG CGs on Working Methods, & Work Program & Structure A virtual meeting of TSAG Ad hoc Group on Working Methods will be held 17 18 April (15-17:00 Geneva time)

TSAG Developments TSAG: o Has reviewed a draft TSB Circular on Candidates for Chairmen & Vice-Chairman of ITU SG s & TSAG, 2012-2016. (Now issued by TSB as TSB Circular 251, 24 January 2012) o TSAG/WTSA CG s are listed in Annex I of TD/359 o Is also working on other WTSA related issues such as: Accessibility & Human Factors Smart Grids Cloud computing ITU role in technical aspects of the internet (PP- 10 Resolution 178) BSG issues

Other Possible Areas of Interest to APT Cybersecurity (Of interest to Canada and RCC). Suggest APT look at this issue & also follow progress Others not readily identifiable at this stage. Key issues seem covered by topics already identified by APT (through this Preparatory Group and ASTAP ITU-T Issues Group); & are also being progressed through TSAG Anticipated that others may be identified: o At this meeting o Following final TSAG meeting & Regional Preparatory meetings If other issues are identified through TSAG & the various regional preparatory meetings these can discussed at the final APT Preparatory Meeting in August

REMEMBER: The ITU is contribution driven so your input to APT will set the regional agenda for issues to be considered at WTSA 12 If you don t raise it (the issue(s) of concern to your country) then the APT and ITU cannot consider or take into account your needs and the desired outcomes for your country This is the meeting to make sure your needs are heard & addressed APT Common Positions now need to be developed in accordance with the procedure outlined in Doc. WTSA12-2/INP-06 Rev.2 (Provided for & discussed at the 2 nd APT WTSA 12 Preparatory meeting)
