What is NAESC? The National Association of Engineering Student Councils (NAESC) is an organization of student representatives from more than 50 ABET-accredited universities nationwide. It is an active network that promotes improvements in education, leadership ability, and continuous development in each branch of the field. Each branch focuses on cultivating the engineering community, building engineering traditions, and becoming a focal point for communication between the School Administration and the Engineering Student Body. Engineering Student Councils attract high-caliber engineering students seeking to improve their leadership, communication and management skills. NAESC meets for a two-day National Conference every spring. At the conference, attending engineering student councils discuss issues related to their universities and councils while working to promote engineering throughout the country. Representatives return to their universities with renewed excitement and ideas, ready to strengthen their respective engineering programs and meet the challenges and opportunities of the upcoming year. More than 250 students from approximately 50 schools attend the conference, representing the top engineering student-leaders in the nation. About SESB This year s conference is hosted by the University of Minnesota s Science and Engineering Student Board (SESB), the official undergraduate governing body for the College of Science and Engineering (CSE). SESB provides students with regular opportunities for service and outreach to the University and neighboring communities. SESB aims to promote collaboration between students, student groups, staff, and faculty, as well as academic and social engagement in CSE through its numerous yearly events. SESB has been actively involved in NAESC, hosting the NAESC Midwest Regional Conference in 2012 and winning the 2015 Best Engineering Council at last years National Conference. We are excited and prepared to host the 2016 NAESC National Conference.
