China Merchants' Rising and Historical Role in Macau Modern Time by LIN Guang-zhi LV Zhi-peng Abstract After the Opium War with the economic transition and the implementation of rules Chinese merchants in Macau rose abruptly. The Chinese commerce have developed from single external trade to gambling opium industry finance real estate and many important businesses. In terms of economic aggregate the Chinese merchants began to control the economy no longer just depending on the Portugal economy as it was before. Since the economic status has risen the Chinese merchants who were delegated by Lu Kou have played the key roles in the political economic and cultural fields in Macau. They have made important contribution in political openness economic development urban construction philanthropy cultural education social harmonious progresses and other areas. Key words Macau modern time Chinese merchants Lu Kou Lu Lianruo He Lianwong The Rise of Chinese Education in Macau between the End of Qing Dynasty and the Beginning of Ming Dynasty by WANG Jian-ping WANG Jian-jun Abstract There were three reasons for the rise of Chinese education in Macau between the end of Qing Dynasty and the beginning of Ming Dynasty. Firstly Macau is China territory under the invigoration of Chinese culture. Moreover Western culture in Qing and Ming Dynasty activated Chinese culture's vitality in this territory. Secondly After Portugal government had obtained the jurisdiction to Macau through force which in turn activated Chinese people in Macau to protect themselves and develop their Chinese culture. Thirdly Chinese people in Macau followed the trend of education reform in modern times and this contributed to the rise of Chinese education at last. Key words Macau Chinese People in Macau Chinese Education The Hanlin Intellectuals in Taizu Period in Song Dynasty by CHEN Yuan-feng Abstract Taizu period in Song Dynasty appointed 8 Hanlin intellectuals and 1 acting intellectual. Most of them were the imperial secretary of the former dynasty. Except Ouyang Jiong of HouShu all the others came into Song Dynasty from the Central Plains of HouZhou. Most of them were already in their middle age and old age and it was difficult for them to maintain enough enthusiasm and vitality for politics and literature and they also lacked in awareness and independent character of the imperial secretary. Taizu's attitude towards the Hanlin intellectuals reflected his valuing of the virtue of Confucianism and his belittling of literature. Key words Hanlin intellectuals stick closely to the pattern given morality literature Li Shangyin and the Successors of Xikun Group by ZHANG Wei Abstract During the early period of the Song dynasty poets such as Yan Shu Song Xiang and Song Qi etc. tried to learn the Xikun style. They could be suitably called successors of the Xikun group. Their poems commonly present the characteristics of being light delicate elegant and beautiful. Meanwhile their poetry style shows a tendency towards diversity. They start to have a deferential regard for Du Fu and take his poems as classics for learning. These aspects indicate the transmutation and even a natural subsiding course of the Xikun style. Key words Xikun style Li Shangyin Yanshu The Literature of the Retired Famous Officers in Xifeng Period in Song Dynasty by WU Xiao-dan Abstract The officer retirement system became perfect in Song dynasty. In the background of sustaining literator retired scholar bureaucrats' lives were comfortable in Song dynasty. The literature produced by famous officers in retirement in XiFeng period were particular in the metaphase of Song dynasty. They gave retirement and ethics cultivation new meanings and brought about the significance of Tao Yuanming's and Bai Juyi's poetry. Their retired life activities sch as joining in the party arrangement of works and reading book reflect Song dynasty's advocating of old culture. The retired officer's literary creation had a profound influence on the Northern Song Dynasty literary style in terms of the literature pursuing philosophy aesthetic insipidity and mature ethos. Key words officer retirement system famous officers in XiFeng period literature The Liberation of Human Nature Marcuse's Aesthetics of Liberation in Artisticness and Aesthetics by LIU Tong-fang HAN Shu-mei Abstract Facing the oppression and alienation in the modern capitalist society Marcuse thought about the road to liberation. He agreed with Marx that the essence of human liberation was the liberation of man's nature. At the same time according to the spirit of Freud's theory of learning and psychological structure he put forward different understanding of human nature and formed a unique aesthetics of liberation the essence of people's liberation is the liberation of Eros including personality spirit and beauty But the key way to achieve the liberation of Eros is artistic and aesthetic view. Artistic and aesthetic stances have the functions that may create new perception criticize the real world enhance the overall strength of the individual subject and society. Marcuse's aesthetics of liberation highlights the profound relevance among the artistic aesthetic and the future and it is worth to learn.
