Social Enterprise Special Offers A social enterprise (SE) is a business operation which employs business model and strategies to achieve specific social objectives. The social objectives may be creating training and employment opportunities for the socially disadvantaged, protecting the environment, etc. Profits made by the SE will be principally reinvested in the business for the social objectives it pursues, rather than distribution to its shareholders. The Home Affairs Department has implemented the Enhancing Self-Reliance Through District Partnership Programme (the Programme) since June 2006 to provide grants for eligible not-for-profit organizations to support the initial operations of new SE projects.
