THE SEVEN POINTS OF THE LORD S PRAYER 1. Paternal Love - Our Father in heaven. We start our prayer by acknowledging the love of our heavenly Father to us. 2 Corinthians 6: 18 I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the LORD Almighty. 1 John 3:1 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God. 2. Presence of God - Hallowed be Your name. You enter into the presence of God and give praise to God using the names of Jehovah. Jehovah means the revealing One. Jehovah means the unchangeable and personal God. The more intimate your relationship with Him, the more He will reveal Himself to you. Jehovah Tsidkenu - The Lord My Righteousness Psalm 71:16 I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD; I will make mention of Your righteousness, of Yours only. 1 Corinthians 1:30-31 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God-- and righteousness and sanctification and redemption-- that, as it is written, He who glories, let him glory in the LORD. Jehovah Jireh - The Lord My Provider Psalm 115:14-16 May the LORD give you increase more and more, you and your children. May you be blessed by the LORD, who made heaven and earth. The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD s; but the earth He has given to the children of men. 2 Corinthians 8:9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich. Jehovah M Kaddesh - The Lord My Sanctifier Leviticus 20:7-8 Consecrate yourselves therefore, and be holy, for I am the LORD your God. And you shall keep My statutes, and perform them: I am the LORD who sanctifies you. Hebrews 10:10 By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Jehovah Rohi - The Lord My Shepherd John 10:11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. Hebrews 13:20-21 Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. Jehovah Rapha - The Lord My Healer Psalm 107:20 destructions. He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their 1 Peter 2:24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness--by whose stripes you were healed. Jehovah Shalom - The Lord My Peace Isaiah 54:10 For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but My kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall My covenant of peace be removed, says the LORD, who has mercy on you. Romans 5:1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Jehovah Shammah - God is there John 14:17-18 The Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. Hebrews 13:5-6 For He Himself has said, I will never leave you nor forsake you. So we may boldly say: The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me? Jehovah Nissi - The Lord My Banner of Victory Romans 8:37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 3. Priorities - Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Here is where you declare your priorities in life. a. Pray for God s will for yourself, your family and loved ones. Ephesians 1:17-20 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places. b. Pray for God s will for our pastors and church leaders. 1 Peter 5:2-4 Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly; nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock; and when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away. Jeremiah 3:15 And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding. c. Pray for the President and government officials. 1 Timothy 2:1-4 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. d. Pray for America and Israel. 2 Chronicles 7:14 If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Psalm 122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May they prosper who love you. 4. Provision - Give us this day our daily bread. Here you pray and ask God for provision for you and your family. Deuteronomy 8:18 And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day. 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in

his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. 5. Pardon - And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. You ask God to forgive you of your sins and also to forgive those who sinned against you. Matthew 6:14-15 For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Ephesians 4:32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. Colossians 3:13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. 6. Protection - And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. You pray and build a hedge of protection over yourself, your family and your possessions. Isaiah 54:17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is from Me, says the LORD. Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. 7. Praise - For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. You close your prayer by praising God for the victory He has given us through Jesus Christ. Jude 24-25 Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless, before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to God our Savior, who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen. Revelation 1:17-18 Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death. The Lord s Prayer is one of several prayer patterns in the bible. To get started, pray few

minutes over each point of the Lord s Prayer. If you are unable to complete all points, you can start right where you left off at another time. Nevertheless, earnestly watch over and hold dear your time with Him every day. It is in our prayer times that we develop and maintain a close and intimate relationship with the Lord. James 4:8 AMP, Come close to God and He will come close to you. David wrote in Psalm 25:14 The LORD confides in those who fear (revere) Him; He makes His covenant known to them. Then, we understand more fully what Paul is teaching in 2 Corinthians 3:5-6 NIV Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God. He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant- not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. Our God is truly a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
