Any insect population may contain individuals naturally resistant to Lebaycid 500 EC and other group code 1B insecticides. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the insect population if these insecticides are used repeatedly. These resistant insects may not be controlled by Lebaycid 500 EC or any other group code 1B insecticides. To delay insecticide resistance: Avoid exclusive repeated use of insecticides from the same insecticide group code. Alternate with products from different insecticide group codes. Integrate other control methods (chemical, cultural, biological) into insect control programs. For specific information on resistance management contact the registration holder of this product. USE RESTRICTION: Lebaycid 500 EC on kiwi fruit is only registered for use by members of the Natal Kiwi Fruit Co-operative Ltd. DIRECTIONS FOR USE: USE ONLY AS INDICATED COMPATIBILITY: Lebaycid 500 EC may be mixed with other insecticides and fungicides. Its high alkaline stability permits it to be combined also with alkaline remedies. However, mixtures of this kind must be applied immediately after being mixed. For period that has to be allowed between last application and harvest see "WARNINGS". MIXING: Pour the required quantity of Lebaycid 500 EC into water while agitating.
4 CROP/PEST DOSAGE REMARKS Peaches, apricots 75 ml100 l Apply one to two sprays as follows: plums: water (a) In those regions where fruit flies reach the (Do not use on orchards at a relatively late stage or where Pucelle de Malines effective control has been maintained in peaches and Alpha early varieties. Spray Lebaycid once i.e. 10 apricots) days before commencement of picking. Fruit flies (b) In those regions where fruit flies breed in early fruit varieties in the vicinity. Spray Lebaycid twice i.e. 4 weeks and 10 days respectively before commencement of picking. NOTE: Apply as a high volume spray in at least 3 400 l spray mixture per hectare. Guavas: 100 ml/100 l Apply two sprays four weeks and 10 days Fruit flies water before commencement of picking. This will generally provide protection into the cooler winter period, when natural fruit fly activity is depressed. In areas where warm winter months are experienced, and fruit fly outbreaks occur, the trees must be picked very thoroughly and again sprayed with Lebaycid. No fruit should then be picked for another 10 days. If necessary a further application can again be carried out as described above 3 to 4 weeks later. The addition of a wetting agent is advisable. Apricots: 100 ml/100 l Apply as a full coverage spray 3-4 weeks Codling moth water after petal drop and repeat application 2-3 weeks later in case of severe infestation. Peaches: 100 ml/100 l Spray when infestations are noticed and Bryobia mite water repeat when necessary. Cucurbits (squashes, marrows, cucumbers, etc.): Pumpkin flies 120 ml/100 l Shortly after the commencement of flowering water apply a thorough coverage spray and repeat at intervals of 2-3 weeks. When spraying ensure that the fruit is well wetted. Aphids 100 ml/100 l Spray when infestations are noticed and water repeat when necessary. CROP/PEST DOSAGE REMARKS 5 Mangoes: Mango weevil 100 ml + Apply when egg-laying has taken place 25 ml Citowett/ (late Oct./early Nov.) as a cover spray. 100 l water Direct the spray at the fruit. Repeat after 14 days under heavy infestation pressure. Fruit fly 100 ml + Apply as 2 full cover sprays. Commence at 25 ml Citowett/ 20 days before harvest and repeat 10 days 100 l water later. NOTE: 1. Orchard sanitation is very important in the control of weevil and fruit fly. Fruit that has fallen off, rotten fruit and seeds must be collected as from November until harvesting is completed. Destroy it by means of burying (at least 600 mm deep), immersing in water plus oil in old oil drums or by putting it through a hammer mill. 2. Do not apply more than 3 Lebaycid 500 EC sprays per season. Apples, pears: 50 ml100 l On late apple and pear varieties, in areas Fruit fly water where fruit fly breed in earlier fruits in close proximity to the orchards, apply Lebaycid 500 EC 10-14 days before commencement of picking. When harvesting is extended over a long period, it may be advisable to apply a second Lebaycid 500 EC spray 3-4 weeks after the first application, but not within 10 days of picking. Sprays of Lebaycid 500 EC applied for the control of fruit fly will simultaneously provide control of codling moth. Codling moth 50 ml/100 l Apply as a full cover spray at 2-3 weekly interwater vals, commencing at the ¾ petal drop stage. About 5-6 applications are required per season. Kiwi fruit: Fruit fly 100 ml/100 l Apply as a full cover spray in mid-march and water repeat the application in mid-april. IMPORTANT: (a) (b) Thorough wetting of the trees and especially the fruit, with Lebaycid 500 EC is essential for effective fruit fly and mango weevil control. Infestations of fruit fly which have been established can be wiped out and further spreading can be prevented since Lebaycid 500 EC kills the maggots in the fruit. Bayer (Pty) Ltd.
