A huge production plant sweeping over a wide area of 5000 sq/m is capable to outturn an extraordinary production output exceeding 200 tons of foam products per month. An excellent producer of foam based products, SBF is well established as a prominent manufacturer of disposable goods in the Middle East market. SBF s production facility include the total size of factory ranging almost 1000 square meters where four lines of production units are housed within the shed. Each line in turn holds four individual capable machines summing it up to a grand total of 16 different extravagant production units within the shed. Production Process Foam based disposable products cater to the need of various industries. Disposable cups and plates are popularly seen at bus stands or railway stations, cafeterias, hotels, catering industry and household usage. Ever thought how these products are made? It takes time and has to go through multiple stages and processes to create a disposable cup or a glass. At SBF, a capable team of experienced staff with hi-fi technology machinery is engaged in production. The remarkable expertise that the specialists hold leads to hankering for innovation and advancement. Since the inception of SBF Foam factory, it is appreciated by the clients for its quality, affordability and safety. The company uses only the best quality raw material to ensure hygienic and good quality products are delivered to its clients. As a part of the production process, the pre-expansion or pre-foaming stage is essential. Special machines are used, called pre-expanders with steam at temperatures of between 80-100 C to heat the raw material. As beads are heated with steam, these beads expand to about 50 times their initial size. This is because the agent starts to boil leading to the polymer becoming soft. Once this stage is completed, the next stage is known as intermediate maturing and stabilization stage. During this stage the recently expanded Particles have been allowed to cool from a vacuum in their interior and this must be compensated for by air diffusion. This process is carried out during the material s intermediate maturing in aerated silos. The beads are dried at the same time. This is how the beads achieve greater mechanical elasticity and improve expansion capacity. Lastly teams are involved in expansions and final molding. During this stage, the stabilized pre-expanded beads are transported to molds where they are again subjected to steam so that the beads bind together. In this way molded shapes are obtained. Thus, a team of profound and experienced staff in the polystyrene industry deals with various types of Foam & polystyrene products, striving hard towards producing customer s choice products. 14 72
