4085-DR-NY As of 04.22.13 Distribution of Supplies to Disaster Survivors The commodities Points of Distribution (PODs) were designed as centralized locations where the public could pick up life sustaining goods following Hurricane Sandy, including shelf-stable food, cots, tarps, blankets, infant and toddler kits, medical supplies and water. These PODs provided more than 3.2 million meals, 2.4 million liters of water and 210,000 blankets to Sandy survivors.
