REPAIR OF SEVERELY DISTRESSED PAVEMENT 10 MINUTES AFTER COMPACTION Simple, Permanent & Environmentally Friendly

INTRODUCING PAVEMEND concrete repair products have been acknowledged by professionals for their unrivaled performance in the most difficult repair environments. We are excited to announce that INSTANT ASPHALT extends that performance to asphalt surfaces that have suffered severe pavement distress. Simple, Permanent & Sustainable

Easy as Cold Mix & Durable as Hot Mix with segment leading Planet Friendly Technology PAVEMEND Instant Asphalt s exceptional performance is derived from a proprietary reactive binder based on plant oils. Developed in Europe, this reactive asphalt repair technology has proven itself throughout European climates and service conditions. The 100% solvent free binder reacts with water Made with natural raw materials Made in America After a short time, performance is equivalent to a hot mix material forming a strong, durable repair with it s own integrity, consistently demonstrating exceptional resistance to rutting, pushing and shoving. Sustainability is defined by the material chemistry, cost (time and effort to effect repair) as well as product durability. Pavemend Instant Asphalt redefines sustainable asphalt repair.

Now it s incredibly easy to perform a PERMANENT Asphalt Repair 1. Place Instant Asphalt (place approximately 1 1/2 of material for every 1 of depth to allow compaction to grade) 2. Saturate with water (with approx. 1/2 US Gallon of water per 55 lb pail). 3. Compact (use hand tamper, vibratory plate, roller) Put your equipment away and open to traffic!

Advanced Placement Characteristics Extraordinary technology that provides permanent repair year round, in all climates. Wet Dry Hot Even below freezing! (Contact Field Engineering for placement techniques in temperatures below freezing). Rapid Return to Service. Potholes (confined) Open to traffic immediately. Lane Repairs (unconfined) Open to traffic 30-60 minutes after placement. Exceptional bond to existing asphalt. SEVERE FAILURE OF ASPHALT, REPAIR SUBJECT TO TRAFFIC 30 MINUTES AFTER PLACEMENT

Simple Site Preparation Blow out standing water (primarily to remove loose debris). Permanent repairs can be made even when the area is wet, and if required, with standing water. Place the material in the water and proceed. Remove dirt or debris To ensure the best performance, remove loose debris and bond to a sound perimeter and substrate (compacted gravel or asphalt). Instant Asphalt will bond well to concrete - however for permanent repairs Pavemend recommends concrete repair materials for concrete, asphalt for asphalt. Preparing the repair with a clean, angular perimeter, a minimum of 1 at edge will ensure the greatest durability. However, many repairs are simply placed against uneven, but sound existing asphalt and durability is exceptional. Remove broken, weak material from the perimeter to ensure a durable, permanent repair (the Instant Asphalt will not break down, but the surrounding material may continue to fail).

Technical Information Minimum repair depth: One inch (utilize the fine grade for repairs one inch deep). Maximum repair depth: Material may be placed in multiple lifts of 2-3. Place, Saturate and compact, place the next lift. The 2-3 requirement ensures water saturates the entire placement, and compaction is effective. Multiple layers will bond exceptionally well to themselves. Storage & Shelf Life: Material has a shelf life of 2 years in sealed pails. Once the seal is broken, reaction begins (exposure to moisture in the atmosphere), and excess material in the pail should be quickly resealed to preserve shelf life of opened units by 2-4 weeks after opening. Tack Coat Option: Difficult repairs (where circumstances have led to multiple failures) may benefit from an asphalt tack coat around the perimeter. However, the vast majority of repairs will not utilize this, and will perform exceptionally. FIRST LIFT BEING SATURATED, PRIOR TO COMPACTION AND APPLICATION OF SECOND LIFT

The Value of a Permanent Repair How many times can you repeat the same repair, and at what cost? Potholes appear in the worst conditions of the year, and as such are typically treated as a temporary repair. Adverse conditions (rain & cold) render these temporary repairs ineffective, and the road hazard quickly reappears. Cold mix materials typically utilized for these repairs pull out quickly after placement, and other alternatives may be subject to unacceptable durability, providing an uneven repair, subject to shoving & rutting. Repair costs include much more than material expenditure. The much greater proportion of repair costs includes labor, mobilization, lane closures, traffic interruptions, and the liability of failed repairs - road hazards. Instant Asphalt provides permanent repairs at a fraction of the cost typically incurred. Repair it once, with PAVEMEND

Revolutionizing Asphalt Maintenance The ability to easily perform permanent, sound repair of potholes and distressed pavements means; Reduced need to mobilize hot mix crews with extensive lane closures and costs. The ability to perform effective repairs regardless of seasons, temperature and the remoteness of the repair. Maintaining properties and highways quickly and efficiently reduces road hazards and liabilities. Green, sustainable repair of roads ensure no pollutants move from the repair into the environment and water systems. Superior ROI on repair efforts, crews address repairs once.

Applications Fast, permanent pothole repair in a wide range of climates, geographies & conditions regardless of accessibility. Fast, permanent lane repairs on asphalt highways and bridge decks as an alternative to mobilizing hot mix crews, with lengthy lane closures. Environmentally friendly Asphalt repairs around drainage systems. Fast, permanent asphalt repairs around manholes and utility installations, trenches etc.
