Before you start: Familiarize yourself with the following LG documents and software available from LG s web site: http://www.lgsolutions.com/ftgsoftware/index.php?mode=2 o LG FTG File Manager v1.2.5 o Free-to-Guest (FTG) File Manage User Guide http://www.lg.com/us/commercial/interface-control-boxes-and-cards/lg-stb-2000 o LG STB-2000 Commercial Mode Setup Guide You will need: PC with STB Commercial Mode Setup Guide loaded and a USB port USB thumb drive freshly formatted with FAT format A LG TV remote control (not included with the STB 2000) A IR receiver (not included with STB2000) 2
Create a TLX programming file on a USB drive with the FTG File Manager: Please review the STB-2000 Commercial Mode Setup Guide from LG before proceeding. Step One: Load the FTG File Manager Software on your PC and open the program. Step Two: Under Installer Menu Templates select STB-2000 from the drop down menu Click Load. 3
Step Three Create Channel Map From the Configure tab select FTG Channel Map Click on Edit/Add Map 4
Select: Logical Channel (optional) RF Channel Major and Minor Channel Label This could be the actual TV location (TV1, West Wall 2 etc.) Check Encrypted and OSD under Attributes Click on Update In this example we have mapped channel 100 to RF channel 33-1 as a Pro: Idiom encrypted channel. Channel label is mt100. Click on Exit Step Four 5
Program STB user settings From the Configure tab select FTG Installer Menu Click the User tab In the User tab set / verify the following parameters: #1 Power Management Off 6

Select Tuning tab and set / verify the following parameters: Programming LG STB for Mediatune #3 Tuning Band CATV #4 Start Channel Set to Major RF channel you programmed in the Channel Map Editor #104 Start CH Digital Minor #5 Channel Lock Enabled #28 Channel Override Enabled #73 Channel N/A Disabled Set to minor RF channel you programmed in Channel Map Editor 8
Select Audio Tab and set / verify the following parameters: #7 Start Volume #8 Minimum Volume Customer dependent #9 Maximum Volume #49 TV Audio Mode TV Speaker (customer option) #88 Noise Mute Enabled #94 SAP Menu Enabled #97 Audio Output Fixed Line Level Programming LG STB for Mediatune The remaining settings can be left at default. 9
Step Five Save FTG file The FTG program will create a directory at Program Files/Zenith/FTG/TLX. Save.tlx file using consistent naming convention. Example: MT_CH100 or MT_CH33-1 Step Six Create additional FTG files for each STB 2000. Each STB2000 on the Mediatune system must have a unique channel lineup. (Remember only two channels per QAM in Mediatune) It is not necessary to create installer files each time you create a new TLX file. Reopen the FTG Channel Map Configuration Utility. In the TLX File box click Open and select the first file you created from the Zenith/FTG/ TLX Directory Double clicking on the file will load it into the TLX File Content box. 10
Double click on the IMS information in the TLX File Contents box and it will move the contents to the FTG Configuration List box. This file is all the Installer Menu Settings previously set up. Repeat steps 3 and 5 to create a new TLX file with unique channel map for each STB2000 11
Step Seven Copy TLX files from directory to a USB thumb drive freshly formatted for FAT files. (Do not copy the directory folder, just the files) 12
Programming the STB2000 with a thumb drive: Programming LG STB for Mediatune NOTE: Please review STB 2000 manual before proceeding (detailed instructions start on page 47) Step One Connect an IR pennant to the IR IN connection on the back of the STB2000. Press power and menu to verify the remote is working. You should see a menu come on screen. The red light on the front of the box flashes when a remote command is received. Insert the USB thumb drive containing the TLX files into either USB port on the STB 2000 13
Using the LG remote control, navigate the menu to the Option icon. Press the 7 button on the remote 7 times to enter the USB Download Menu Select Teach to STB (TLX) Select the file from the Teach to STB (TLX) box to learn to the STB2000. The file will load on the STB2000 and it will then reset. 14

Troubleshooting If you encounter problems you can reset the STB 2000 to factory default. Press the menu button repeatedly until the menu no longer appears Enter 9876 Exit Installer menu will appear Use the navigation keys on the remote to navigate to option 117 FACT Default Use the right arrow key (>) and the number buttons to enter 413 in the numeric field to the right. You will be asked for a password enter 0413 Press enter on the remote. The STB2000 will perform an instop reset procedure. The screen background will go to all snow, press enter again to exit the installer menu. If the STB starts up to an installer Wizard exit the program. 413 Proceed with programming step two 16
