Health 1 Flammability 0 Reactivity 0Ratings based on NPFA PPE E IARC Overall Evaluation: Inhaled crystalline silica in the form of quartz or cristobalite from occupational sources is carcinogenic to humans (Group 1). The OSHA Permissible Exposure Limits from Table Z-3 Mineral Dusts are: Crystalline Silica Quartz (Respirable) 10 mg/m3 % SiO2 + 2 Quartz (Total Dust) 30 mg/m3 % SiO2 + 2 If cristobalite or tridymite is detected, use one half the value calculated from formulae for quartz. Inhalation: Acute: Breathing silica dust may cause irritation of the nose, throat and respiratory passages. Chronic: Breathing silica dust may not cause noticeable injury or illness even though permanent lung damage may be occurring. Inhalation of dust may also cause silicosis. Cancer Status: The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has determined that crystalline silica inhaled in the form of quartz or cristobalite from occupational sources is carcinogenic to humans (Group 1- carcinogenic to humans). The National Toxicology Program (NTP) classifies respirable crystalline silica as known to be a human carcinogen. The American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH) classified crystalline silica, quartz, as a suspected human carcinogen (A2).

SECTION 2 HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION continued Skin Contact: Dust may be irritating to the skin. Eye Contact: Dust may cause irritation and/or redness to the eyes. Ingestion: Not anticipated route of exposure. No adverse effects for normal, incidental ingestion. Chronic Health Effects See Inhalation Subsection above. Medical Conditions Aggravated by Exposure Individuals with respiratory disease, including but not limited to, asthma and bronchitis, or subject to eye irritation should not be exposed to respirable dust. SECTION 3 COMPOSITION/INFORMATION ON THE COMPONENTS Composition of ingredients: PEL (osha) TLV (acgih) Material or Component CAS Number Percentage Crystalline Silica 14808-60-7 <1% SECTION 4 FIRST AID MEASURES Inhalation: Remove person to fresh air. Get medical attention for any breathing difficulty. Skin Contact: Wash exposed area with soap and water. Get medical advice if irritation develops. Eye Contact: Flush thoroughly with large amounts of running water for at least 15 minutes. Get medical advice if irritation develops. Ingestion: If large amounts were ingested get medical advice. Advice to Physicians Treat symptomatically.

SECTION 5 - FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES Flash Point....................................... Flammable Limits................................ Fire Extinguishing Media.........................Use media applicable to surrounding material (this product will not support combustion). Unusual Fire and Explosion Hazard............... SECTION 6 ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES Release or Spill..............................Collect using dustless method and place in suitable container for reuse or disposal. Material is slippery when wet. Personal Precautions.........................Wear appropriate protective equipment. Environmental Precautions................... SECTION 7 HANDLING AND STORAGE Handling Precaution This product may contain crystalline silica. Avoid breathing dust. Avoid creating dusty conditions. Use only with adequate ventilation to keep exposure below recommended exposure limits. Wear a NIOSH approved respirator or equivalent when using this product. Danger Breathing crystalline silica can cause lung disease, including silicosis and lung cancer. Storage Use good housekeeping in storage and work areas to prevent accumulation of dust. Close container when not in use. Do not reuse empty container. Avoid moisture. SECTION 8 EXPOSURE CONTROL/PERSONAL PROTECTION Ventilation Requirements: Use approved industrial ventilation and local exhaust as required to maintain exposures below applicable exposure limits listed in Section 3. Respiratory Protection Use NIOSH approved nuisance dust respirator when dust levels exceed applicable exposure limits. Skin Protection Long sleeve clothing and gloves. Eye Protection Wear safety glasses with side shields. Maintain eye wash station in work area. Other Protection Equipment/Clothing As appropriate for work area. Dusty clothing should be laundered before reuse.
