Rules and Guidelines for the Competition: Steel Design across technology and art Design is an art involving the search for the balance between spirit and matter, form, function, structure and a new idea. All these qualities constitute the new form which is a token of its time. The assumptions for the Competition: Steel Design across technology and art are a reflection on the concept of integrating the design arts with the values comprising the potential of modern technologies. The topic of the Competition is focused on detecting the possibilities offered by materials and steel constructions in consideration of their functional and aesthetic qualities. A search for simplicity, and, at the same time, adequacy of the form in view of the selected material and specific, technological design thinking designate the field of the Competition design task. I. General Provisions These Rules and Guidelines determine the terms and conditions of participation of the persons stipulated in Art III (hereunder referred to as: the Participants ) of the Rules and Guidelines of the Competition: Steel Design - across technology and art, hereunder referred to as: the Competition. The Competition, in compliance with the provisions of Art. 919 and 921 of the Polish Civil Code, shall be conducted and resolved solely on the grounds of the stipulations of these Rules and Guidelines ( Rules and Guidelines ) and other obligatory legal regulations pertaining to its scope. The Competition is organized by: - Autorobot-Strefa, a limited liability company, with head office at 29 Wyczółkowskiego Street (zip code: 44-109) in Gliwice, entered in the Polish Court Register of Companies and Enterprises kept at the District Court in Gliwice Department X of Economic Registration under No: 0000156775, Tax Identification Number (NIP): 6342266684, REGON: 273831324, with the initial capital of PLN 6.760.739,73, - Autorobot 2,a limited liability company, with head office at 29 Wyczółkowskiego Street (zip code: 44-109) in Gliwice, entered in the Polish Court Register of Companies and Enterprises kept at the District Court in Gliwice Department X of Economic Registration

under No: 0000496283, Tax Identification Number (NIP): 9691609210, REGON 243465096, with the initial capital of PLN 50.000,00, hereunder, jointly referred to as: the Organizer. II. Participation in the Competition 1. The Competition is one-stage and open. 2. The Participants of the Competition shall be solely students of technical universities attending courses on the following disciplines: architecture, interior design, model manufacture, or other design disciplines, who have reached their legal age at the latest on the day of application for the Competition, who are fully entitled to legal capacity, and who are the only authors of the Design Works entered for the Competition (hereunder referred to as: the Participant or the Participants ). 3. The Competition shall not be entered by employees of the Organizer or members of their closest family. The term: closest family shall denote: ancestors, descendants, siblings, spouses, parents and siblings of spouses, relatives by affinity in the same line or degree, persons remaining in the adoption, guardianship or custody relationship. The exclusion of such persons from the Competition shall prevail even despite the dissolution o f marriage, cessation of adoption, guardianship or custody. 4. To participate in the Competition, applicants shall deliver, up to 15 September until 5 pm. at the latest, in person, by electronic mail, e-mail address: autorobot@post.pl, or by recorded delivery forwarded to the Organizer s head office: a) Completed application form for participation in the Competition ( Application Form ), the template of which is contained in Annex 1 to the Rules and Guidelines; b) Design works entered to the Competition ( Competition Entries ) in compliance with the guidelines contained in Annex 2 to the Rules and Guidelines; c) Statement of the Participant concerning the possession of applicable rights, including, in particular copyrights to the Competition Entry; d) Statement of the Participant concerning the assignment or transfer, free of charge, of the copyrights to the Competition Entry to the Organizer; 5. The Application Form is available at: http://www.autorobotstrefa.pl;

6. The compliance with the deadline shall be judged against the date of the receipt of the Competition Entry at the Organizer s head office, or the date indicated on the electronic confirmation of its receipt by electronic mail; 7. The Application Form shall be delivered in one envelope, in one email message, or in one recorded delivery letter, together with the Competition Entry and the statements stipulated in Art. II. points 4 c) and d) of the Rules and Guidelines. Competition Entries without the Application Form and/or without the statements stipulated in Art. II. p. 4 c) and d) of the Rules and Guidelines, or with the said documents but not containing the required information or data shall be rejected without the obligation of providing notice about such rejection to an applicant. The same effects shall be relevant in the case of the unsigned statements stipulated in Art. II. p. 4 c) and d) of the Rules and Guidelines. The completion of the Application Form and its personal delivery, e-mail delivery or recorded delivery to the Organizer s head office shall be interpreted as the acceptance of the Rules and Guidelines and the terms and conditions thereof, and as participation in the Competition; 8. Participants in the Competition shall also sign the Statement of the Participant concerning the ownership of any applicable rights, including, in particular, the copyrights to the Competition Entry and shall also sign the Statement of the Participant concerning the assignment or transfer, free of charge, of the copyrights to the Competition Entry to the Organizer within the scope designated by the provisions of Art. XI p. 2 of the Rules and Guidelines and shall enclose the said Statements to the Application Form and the Competition Entry; 9. Each Participant may deliver any number of the Competition Entries; however they shall be accompanied by Application Forms and the Statements mentioned in Art. II. p. 4 c) and d) of the Rules and Guidelines, separately for each Competition Entry; 10. The Competition Entries shall not be marked with any wordings or graphic signs that would make the identification of their author impossible; 11. After the deadline stipulated by Art. II p. 4- the first sentence of the Rules and Guidelines, an appointed member of the Competition Jury shall open the delivered envelopes and assign one unique, digital identification number to the Competition Entries and the enclosed Application Forms; 12. Upon the assignment of the identification number until the announcement of the results of the Competition, the Competition Entries and the enclosed Application Forms shall be labeled only by the identification number;

13. The Application Forms shall be deposited at the Organizer s head office. After the selection of the Laureates of the Competition, an appointed member of the Competition Jury shall decode the awarded Competition Entries. III. The objective of the Competition The objective of the Competition is to devise the project of a set of metal furniture, including at least two elements, for example: a dining table, coffee table, or conference table, work desk, in compliance with the guidelines included in Annex 2 to the Rules and Guidelines. IV. Rules of the Competition 1. Participants in the Competition are assigned the task of preparing Competition Entries concerning one of the four design concepts specified in Art. III of the Rules and Guidelines, in compliance with the guidelines contained in Annex 2 to the Rules and Guidelines. 2. Participation in the Competition shall be at the Participant s cost. The Organizer shall not be obliged to reimburse the Participant with any costs of preparation of the Competition Entry. 3. The projects entered to the Competition shall be elaborated solely by the Participant, they should not be projects that have been already been published or made available (including, in particular, other architectural design competitions, exhibitions, shows, etc.). 4. The prerequisite for participation in the Competition is the delivery of the Competition Entry in the printed form with the dimensions of 100 x 70 cm and in the form of a graphic file on a digital carrier. 5. The project shall be devised in a manner enabling the construction of its model in the real dimensions. V. Competition Entries 1. The Competition Entry shall consist of the following graphic files (.jpg) for each of the designed elements: plan, cross-sections (two copies), elevations (4 copies) the scale of 1:10, and at least 2 visualisations (one of which should be an example

of the function of the designed piece of furniture in a definite spatial application) presenting the project specified in Art. III of the Rules and Guidelines. 2. The Competition Entry shall be a result of independent creative work of the Participant, it shall not infringe any rights and entitlements of the third persons, in particular, industrial property rights and authors economic rights, furthermore, the copyrights to the Competition Entry vested upon the Participant shall not be limited or attributed to the rights of any third persons. 3. The Organizer of the Competition shall communicate the explanations directed to all Participants of the said solely by means of the internet page: http://www.autorobotstrefa.pl. 4. The Organizer reserves the right to exclude from the Competition any and all Competition Entries if they are subject of justifiable suspicion of not being the result of independent and original work of the Participant, or if the Participant is classified as one of the persons to be excluded from the Competition in compliance with the provisions of Art. II p. 2,Art. II p. 3, Art. II p. 4 g) o, if the Competition Entries infringe, in any other manner, the rights and entitlements of any third parties. 5. The Competition Entries applied for the Competition shall be put on the exhibition held in head office of Autorobot-Strefa, a limited liability company, at 29 Wyczółkowskiego Street (zip code: 44-109) in Gliwice from 6 to 20 September 2014. The Organizer hereby reserves the right to remove from the above exhibition any and all Competition Entries in the cases stipulated in point 3 above. VI. Selection of the awarded Competition Entries 1. The Competition Entries shall be assessed by the Competition Jury acting in accordance with the Rules and Guidelines. The voting of the Jury and the subsequent selection of the Competition Entries shall be held on 30 September 20014. Each Competition Entry delivered in accordance with the provisions of the Rules and Guidelines shall be subject of the assessment and shall not be excluded from the Competition on the grounds of the provisions of Art. V p. 3 and Art. II p. of the Rules and Guidelines. Each member of the Competition Jury shall assess the Competition Entries within the range from 1 to 10. 2. Upon the summation of the results of the voting by the Competition Jury, the ranking list of the Competition Entries shall be made on the grounds of the total number

of points obtained by each Competition Entry. The Main Prize shall be awarded to the Participant whose applied Competition Entry scores the most points in the course of the voting conducted by the Competition Jury. 3. Minutes of the voting conducted by the Competition Jury shall be taken, specifying the number of the Competition Jury members participating in the voting and the number of the votes cast on particular Competition Entries. The Minutes shall be signed by the Chair of the Jury and shall be kept in the Organizer s head office. 4. The main assessment criterion is the consistence of the Project with the guidelines set forth in Annex 2 to the Rules and Guidelines, as well as the aesthetics, functionality of the applied design solutions, uniqueness, the estimated costs of manufacturing the furniture as provided by the project, and the materials proposed by the Participant. 5. The results of the Competition shall be announced on 6 October 2014 by publicizing the ranking list of the Competition Entries and the personal details of the Laureates. VII. The Competition Jury 1. The Organizer of the Competition shall MapPoint the Competition Jury, consisting of 5 (five) members. 2. The decisions undertaken by the Competition Jury are binding, final and irrevocable. 3. In accordance with the provisions of the Rules and Guidelines, the number of the Competition Jury members may be reduced, without any necessity of appointing new members. VIII. Awards and granting the awards 1. The awards in the Competition are funded by the Organizer. 2. The awards are: a) The Main Award financial award of PLN 3.000,00 gross (say: three thousand), which should be granted obligatorily; b) Extra Award or Extra Awards financial award or awards of PLN 1.000,00 gross (say: one thousand), which may or may not be granted obligatorily. The Main Award and the Extra Award(s) hereunder shall be referred to as: Awards.

3. The Awards shall be given only in the form stipulated in the Rules and Guidelines without any possibility of their exchange. 4. The winners of the Awards who do not comply with the conditions set forth in the Rules and Guidelines shall be excluded from the process of granting the Awards. 5. The Laureates of the Competition shall be notified by e-mail about the necessity of providing the following data required for the issue of the Awards within 7 (seven) working days from the day on which the results of the Competition are published on the Organizer s internet page: a) Name and surname of the Laureate, place of residence, number of the bank account to which the Main Award Or Extra Award(s) are to be transferred; b) Name and surname of the Laureate and details of contact address (street, number of flat, zip code and name of town/city/village), provided that the Laureate wishes to receive the Award by postal order to the indicated address; c) Name and surname of the Laureate of the Extra Award and details of the contact address (street, number of flat, zip code and name of town/city/village), provided that the Laureate wishes to receive the Extra Award by courier order to the indicated address; The addresses mentioned in 5. b and c above must be in the Polish territory. 6. The Main Award and Extra Award(s), (provided that the Competition Jury decides to grant such) shall be issued to the Laureates by bank transfer to the account number, or postal order, depending on the Laureate s choice, within the deadline of 20 October 2014. 7. The Extra Award(s), provided that the Competition Jury decides to grant such, shall be transferred to the Laureate by courier order, at the Organizer s cost, within 30 days as of the day of the receipt of the contact data and address mentioned in 5 c above. 8. It is upon the Competition Jury s decision to grant Extra Award(s). The provisions concerning the Extra Award(s) set forth in the Rules and Guidelines shall not be subject of any claims. 9. If the binding legal requirements are applicable, the Organizer shall deduce the income tax on physical persons from the Award, or lump sum tax on physical persons.

IX. Liability and responsibility 1. The application of the Competition Entry shall be the sole responsibility of the Participant. The Organizer shall not be held responsible for any infringement of copyrights, industrial property rights, personal interests any other rights and entitlements of the third persons arising out of the application of the Competition Entry. 2. The Organizer shall not be held responsible for any inconsistencies and damages arising from the erroneous data provided by the Participant in the Application Form, in particular, those that make it impossible to issue the Award. 3. The Organizer is incapable of guaranteeing the safety of electronic transmissions of the data and information and the occurrence of errors. Such data or information may be subject of capture, damage, loss or destruction. They may be delivered incomplete or delayed. They may also be subject of detrimental impacts or their use may not be safe for any other reasons. X. Personal data The Participants of the Competition hereby agrees for processing their personal data in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Personal Data Protection dated August 29 th 1997. (Journal of the Laws of the Polish Republic dated 2002. No 101. Entry 926 et seq.) solely for the purposes of running the Competition, selecting and announcing the Laureates, granting the Awards, as well as issue, receipt and financial settlements of the Awards. XI. Rights, including copyrights 1. Upon the application of the Competition Entry the Participant hereby declares that they are fully eligible for the copyrights, proprietary and personal rights to the Competition Entry pursuant to the Law on Copyrights and Related rights dated February 4 th 1994 (Journal of the Laws of the Polish Republic. 1994. No: 24. Entry 83 et seq.); furthermore, the Participant declares that the application and use of the Competition Entry shall not infringe on any industrial property rights, and any other rights and personal entitlements of any third persons. Moreover, the Participant states that they are fully eligible for giving the Organizer the consent,

transfer of rights and licenses stipulated in the Rules and Guidelines concerning the transfer of the copyright rights in accordance with the said Rule and Guidelines. 2. Upon the application of the Competition Entry the Participant hereby shall transfer, free of charge, the property of the Competition Entry to the Organizer, and also, without any remuneration, all copyrights and proprietary and personal rights to the work or works comprising the Competition Entry, as far as timely and territoriality unlimited introduction to commercial circulation, dissemination, use and management of the work and works concerning the Competition Entry, both in the territory of Poland and abroad, in the following fields of use: a. Introduction to economic turnover (including the sale, publication and dissemination; b. Recording, copying by any technique- including digital and photosensitive, computer or magnetic, printing, video- by any possible means; c. Public performance, display on any open and close events, including exhibitions, fairs, training courses, also by means of the internet or on the internet pages; d. Broadcasting, re-editing; e. Public release in the manner securing unlimited access at the place and time; f. Insertion to the computer memory; g. Other manners of dissemination; h. Lending, hire, lease, free of charge use; i. Making use in the construction of models and their patterns and their dissemination; j. Use for furniture production and sale; k. Use, upon the application of the utility model or industrial model to the Polish Patency Office, as well as to other such offices in Europe, or transfer of the copyrights to the model. 3. In the case of any doubts the Organizer reserves the right for the use of the parts or elaborations of the Competition Entry, on the grounds of the transfer of the proprietary rights transfer stipulated in the preceding point, in advertising or promotion activities. 4. The Laureates of the Competition hereby agree to reveal their personal data (name and surname) to the public in relation to the announcement of the results of the Competition.

5. The Organizer shall be obliged to reveal the information concerning the Participant, being the owner of the copyrights and personal rights to the Competition Entry, at any fairs, exhibitions and other events related to the presentation of such. Furthermore, the Organizer is hereby obliged to reveal, in the cases stipulated above, the fact of the Participant s Award in accordance with Art. VIII of the Rules and Guidelines. XII. Final provisions 1. The court for the resolution of any disputes arising from the interpretation of the Rules and Guidelines shall be a court applicable to the Organizer s head office address. 2. In the case of any other matters not stipulated in the Rules and Guidelines, the relevant Polish legal regulations shall prevail, especially, the Polish Law dated April 23 rd 1964- the Polish Civil Code (Journal of the Laws of the Polish Republic, No 16, Entry 98 et seq.) 3. The Rules and Guidelines have been made available on the Organizer s www page http://www.autorobotstrefa.pl, and shall also be made available to all interested parties upon demand expressed in a written or oral manner. 4. The Competition shall not be treated as a random game in the understanding of Art. 2. Of the Law on Hazard Games dated November 19 th 2009 (Journal of the Laws of the Polish Republic. No: 2009.
