Figure 1: Integration path of SAP S/4HANA, On-premise and Cloud Edition SAP offers two different deployment options to Integrate S/4HANA, namely On-premise Edition and Cloud Edition. Currently, there are three different offerings available as part of the SAP S/4HANA, cloud edition SAP S/4HANA, cloud marketing edition SAP S/4HANA, cloud project services edition SAP S/4HANA, cloud enterprise edition This also offers prepackaged integration best practices content and engineered services for SAP S/4HANA and to the existing cloud solutions. 2015 SAP AG. 2 SAP S/4HANA On-premise Integration Depending on the customer requirements the S/4HANA On-premise Integration scenario offers a business scope including SAP Simple Finance, Simple Logistics as well as an integration best practice content with SAP s SaaS Cloud Solutions and third-party applications using SAP Process Orchestration, Web Services or SAP HANA Cloud Integration. Figure 2: Integration path of SAP S/4HANA On-premise Edition to SAP Cloud Solutions SAP HANA Cloud Integration (HCI) is SAPs cloud Integration middleware and is an Software-as-aservice product which provides standard integration content delivered by SAP to integrate SuccessFactors, Ariba, SAP Financial Services Network, SAP Cloud for Customer with S/HANA Onpremise systems or ERP. For the On-Premise Edition customers can leverage either downloading the packaged best practices from SAP s Service Marketplace or via engineered service. 2015 SAP AG. All rights reserved. 4
3 SAP S/4HANA Cloud Edition Integration Other than the On-Premise Edition, the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Edition is designed for enterprises that need standardized Cloud integration offerings which cover the core business scenarios and the line of business cloud solutions. For the Cloud Edition the main integration technologies are SAP HANA Cloud Integration and web services. Based on the selected scope and subscription model, customers can leverage from fully integrated, secured and managed S/4HANA Cloud Edition by SAP. In most cases, the required customer integration scenarios are provisioned, configured and activated from SAP Cloud Operations and SAP Cloud Service Center or SAP provides self-configuration User interfaces so customers are able to configure the solution. The current SAP S/4HANA, cloud edition already covers specific business scenarios for the marketing line of business and for the professional services industry as well as the enterprise Edition including: finance, accounting, controlling, procurement, sales, manufacturing, plant maintenance, project system, and product lifecycle management and integration content with SAP Cloud solutions SuccessFactors Employee Central, Ariba Network, SAP Hybris Marketing, SAP JAM, SAP Financial Services Network and third-party integration with Vertex for tax calculation. Three offerings are currently available as part of the SAP S/4HANA, cloud edition: SAP S/4HANA, cloud marketing edition for the marketing line of business SAP S/4HANA, cloud project services edition for the professional services industry SAP S/4HANA, cloud enterprise edition for a full ERP scope Figure 3: Integration path of SAP S/4HANA Cloud Edition to SAP Cloud Solutions 2015 SAP AG. Furthermore, SAP HANA Cloud Platform serves as an extension platform for SAP S/4HANA. Customers and Partners are able to build specific capabilities extending the scope of SAP S/4HANA by either integrating non-sap solutions or developing new capabilities using the whitelisted API s. The following figure illustrates the Integration technology options for S/4HANA On-Premise and Cloud Edition: Figure 2: Integration path of SAP S/4HANA On-premise edition to SAP Cloud Solutions 4 OK - why process integration matters and how does HCI differ to SAP Process Orchestration? Imagine you own an On-premise HCM application up and running in your System landscape and you want to innovate and integrate your HR business processes or master data with SuccessFactors cloud based applications. Similar to any A2A integration, you need to ensure that data and processes are integrated accurate and reliable. Furthermore, HR employees might need to access data from different HR applications such as: Replicating either Employee data from an Employee Central to S/4HANA application or Cost Center data from S/4HANA financial application to the Employee central. Depending on the deployment model the integration of both On-premise and cloud based applications can be realized through Web Services, the On-premise based Process Orchestration or HANA Cloud Integration middleware and ensure that data and processes are secured, mapped and transferred properly. 2015 SAP AG. Figure 4: Sample Integration options for SAP S/4HANA and Employee Central Coming to the integration middleware, SAP HANA Cloud Integration is not the only product for which SAP provides integration middleware. The integration content offered by SAP for HCI can be viewed at https://cloudintegration.hana.ondemand.com. SAP offers a lot of standard integration capabilities and content for e.g. SAP PO. However HCI is not only the standard content rather the management and monitoring of this integration content is offered by SAP in the Cloud environment. SAP is therefore responsible for the hosting, configuration and monitoring of integration scenarios. This involves a new service offering for which interaction with SAP customers is very important. It relieves the customer of hosting, configuration and monitoring of the integration environment. A huge difference with SAP PO where standard content offered must be hosted, configured, managed and monitored by the customer themselves. The following table illustrates the main different between SAP NetWeaver Process Orchestration and SAP HANA Cloud Integration. 2015 SAP AG. All rights reserved. 7
4.1.1 SAP NetWeaver Process Orchestration (PO) On-Premise installation in Customer Landscape Costs involved with hardware, installation, patches and product licenses Used for: On-premise or Hybrid integration scenarios SAP Process Integration (including B2B Add-On and Connectivity Add-On) SAP Business Process Management SAP Business Rules Management Pre-packaged contents for On-premise Operations by customer 4.1.2 SAP HANA Cloud Integration (HCI) Cloud based integration platform Engineered for Cloud: Multi-tenancy, rolling software updates, horizontal scalability. Subscription-based usage Flexible Integration options: Hybrid or Cloud to Cloud scenarios Web User Interface for configuration, deployment, monitoring of data integration and simple BPMN based modeling of process integration flows Pre-packaged integration content with mappings, API and adapter configuration, connectivity Operations by SAP Cloud managed services API management capabilities within SAP HCI, focus on security including data isolation 5 Conclusion SAP S/4HANA is providing choice of deployment options for On-premise and Cloud Edition SAP S/4HANA is closely integrated to the SAP Cloud solutions such as Ariba Network, SuccessFactors Employee Central, Concur SAP S/4HANA offers Integration technology options based on the deployment selection: SAP NetWeaver Process Orchestration, SAP HANA Cloud Integration and Web services SAP S/4HANA is easy to integrate leveraging preconfigured best practices, guided configuration, onboarding either for the Cloud or On-premise deployment model SAP S/4HANA is designed with SAP Fiori UX and integrated user experience with simplified usability on any device 2015 SAP AG.
