welcome to the First guide to bus services in North Devon As a result of changing customer demands and travel patterns in North Devon it has been necessary to change some of our services, as outlined below. what s changing The following services will be changing on Sunday 26th October 2008. Service 1 Service 2 Service 3 Service 3A Service 3B Service 7 Service 30 Barnstaple Bideford Westward Ho! North Devon Hospital Barnstaple Bideford Appledore Barnstaple Braunton - Ilfracombe Combe Martin Barnstaple Braunton Whittingham Road Ilfracombe Ilfracombe Woolacombe Barnstaple Swimbridge South Molton Mill on the Mole Barnstaple Ilfracombe Combe Martin In some cases these services will be allocated new service numbers and for others it is just the timetable that will be changing. Full details of the changes are contained within this booklet. what s not changing The following services are not changing. Service X9 Service X85 Service 303 Service 319 Bude Okehampton Exeter Barnstaple Launceston Plymouth (Saturdays only) Barnstaple Woolacombe Bude - Hartland the Network Service 1/2 North Devon Hospital Barnstaple Bideford Westward Ho! / Appledore The route of this service remains unchanged, but there some changes to the timetable, which is shown within this guide. The Saturday timetable is extended to serve the Hospital on a trial basis. This service operates to the hospital every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday providing good links to other services. The service continues to be operated with super low floor buses providing easy access for those less mobile. Service 3/3A/3B Barnstaple Braunton Ilfracombe Combe Martin / Woolacombe Service 3 will now operate every 30 minutes between Barnstaple, Braunton and Ilfracombe. New Service 4 is introduced to operate every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday between Barnstaple and Braunton. Service 3/4 combined provides a 15-minute frequency to Braunton. Service 3 now terminates at Ilfracombe, revised Service 30 will operate every hour between Ilfracombe and Combe Martin, some peak journeys are extended to North Devon College and Service 30E operates Friday evenings under contract to Devon County Council. Service 3A is withdrawn and replaced between Ilfracombe, Whittingham Road and Ilfracombe Tesco by new service 32 operating every hour. Service 3B is withdrawn and replaced by new service 31 operated by First under contract to Devon County Council every hour. The new timetables and maps are contained within this guide. Service 7 Barnstaple Swimbridge South Molton Mill on the Mole Service 7 is withdrawn and replaced by new service X7 operating direct between Mill on the Mole, South Molton and Barnstaple every hour. Some journeys continue to operate to and from North Devon College. New service 5 will operate every hour between Barnstaple, Newport, Landkey and Swimbridge. Peak journeys will continue to serve Filleigh and South Molton. Devon County Council have provided a replacement bus service between Swimbridge, Filleigh and South Molton during the day. Customers travelling from Barnstaple to Combe Martin will need to change buses at co-operative on Wilder Road, Ilfracombe or Ilfracombe Bus Station. B. Customers travelling to North Devon Hospital from Ilfracombe or Braunton should change buses at Barnstaple Bus Station. Service 3 will arrive at the bus station at xx05 and xx35. Service 2 will depart for the hospital at xx09 and xx39. Travelling back from the hospital Service 2 will arrive at the bus station at xx05 and xx35. Service 3 will depart at xx15 and xx45. This will provide two connections per hour in either direction Monday to Saturday daytime C. Customers wishing to travel from Fowlers Ilfracombe Holiday Park to Barnstaple will now need to travel by Service 32 to Ilfracombe Bus Station and then change on to Service 3 for Barnstaple. Buses will generally arrive at the bus station at xx17 and Service 3 will depart the bus station at xx20. D. New Service 31 will be operated by First under contact to Devon County Council.
