and the environment at buzil Quality and the environment at buzil Quality Environmental awareness concerns every single one of us Unfortunately, not everyone thinks about how their behaviour or a change in the way they work can help avoid negative impact on our environment. buzil regards environmental awareness and sustainability as ongoing measures in the development of a company and as fixed components in the buzil value system. buzil has been certified to DIN EN ISO 9001 since August 1996 and has thus had a functioning quality management system in place for more than 15 years. Certification of the environment management system to DIN EN ISO 14001 was first achieved in April 2002 and has thus passed the ten year mark. In addition, buzil has been committed to providing voluntary additional services concerning environmental protection as part of the Umweltpakt Bayern (Bavarian Environmental Pact) and last renewed its commitment to sustainable economic activity in terms of environmental and climate protection in this context in 2011. The programme runs over 5 years and aims to continually improve environmental protection in production, focussing on tailor-made and efficient strategies based on initiative and business experience. Furthermore, buzil has been a DIAMOND member of the UAE Business Council for Sustainable Development (BCSD), the Arabian version of the World Business Council of Sustainable Development, since May 2011.

Certified environment management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14001:2009 The international environment standard ISO 14001 defines globally recognised requirements on an environment management system and is part of a family of standards. Diamond Member of UAE-BCSD The UAE-BCSD (United Arabian Emirates Business Council for Sustainability Development) is the Arabian branch of the international organisation WBCSD. The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) is an organisation managed by company directors and is solely concerned with the subject of business and sustainable development. The WBCSD sees itself as an intermediary who makes the concept of sustainable development known to companies and helps them to change the way they operate.

It was created by the European Commission in 1992. Austrian eco-label for the products of the buzil Planta edition The Austrian eco-label stands for a higher quality of life and environmental quality, clear and transparent information, high informative value, environmental policies as the direct responsibility of companies and organisations, cooperation on a high level with optimum service. Top rating by Hoppenstedt Credit Check In January 2012 the BUZIL-WERK Wagner GmbH was awarded the top rating certificate by the Hoppenstedt rating agency. This means that buzil is one of only 4.4 % of German industrial companies that have a credit standing index of 1.

concepts and values Our concepts and values Our Energy concept: Use of our own alternative energy supplies. Commissioning of a photovoltaic system with a capacity of 250 kw on 01.04.2012. Testing and implementation planning for replacing heat generation by connection to public long-distance heating systems. The freshwater used for production is drawn exclusively from the company s own well. Every year, around 16,000 m³ (2011) of freshwater are pumped from a depth of about 20 m. Raw materials concept: Continual examination of all raw materials used for ecological replacement by substitution. Continual examination of the cardboard boxes and packaging used to achieve an optimum balance between ecology, quality and safe transportation. Deliveries/suppliers: Optimisation of deliveries and reduction of part deliveries in order to save fuel and packaging. Ongoing supplier checks and evaluation with the aim of only using certified suppliers. Disposal/waste management: Cleanliness, tidiness and safety at the workplace. Handling and disposal of waste in line with the environment and with the aim of recycling as much as possible. Treatment and return of production water to the municipal water system.
