Trial Description Title Height anxiety study Trial Acronym [---]* URL of the trial [---]* Brief Summary in Lay Language The purpose of the study is to examine factors underlying exposure therapy in virtual reality. Exposure therapy is a form of cognitive behavioral therapy, where patients are confronted with their feared object or situation. Participants receive different instructions during exposure therapy. Participants are persons (18-65 years) with acrophobia. Amendment 1 (2016-06-01): Extension of primary outcome measure (Acrophobia Questionnaire) by 6-month follow-up Brief Summary in Scientific Language A therapy manual based on Emotional Processing Theory is compared with a manual based on inhibitory learning for exposure therapy for acrophobia. Participants are randomly assigned to one of two active groups and get two sessions of in-virtuo exposure therapy.
