ENROLLMENT AND ACCUMULATION OF REWARD MILES 1. How can I enroll in the AIR MILES Reward Program? Simply visit airmiles.ca or shop in store where you can obtain a preactivated card. Enrollment in the AIR MILES Reward Program is free. You must be 16 years of age or older. 2. What does the standard AIR MILES Offer at Ace consist of? The standard offer gives 1 reward mile for every $20 in purchases on eligible products, before taxes, at all participating Ace stores. Products being promoted are also eligible in the calculation of the regular offer. Excludes purchase of gift cards and charge accounts. 3. What transaction purchases are not eligible in the calculation of the Ace standard offer? Gift cards: We do not issue reward miles on a gift card activation. The reward miles will be issued only when a customer pays for purchase with a gift card. Transactions applied to a charge account or in house account are not eligible. 4. How long after my purchase at Ace will the reward miles be credited to my Account? The information on eligible purchases is sent to the AIR MILES Reward Program each week. However, the crediting of reward miles to the Collector s Account may take up to 1 week. 5. If I return a product, will the reward miles gained be taken back? Yes. Product returns are managed according to Ace policies covering product returns and exchanges. Ace reserves the right to recover reward miles associated with specific products or associated promotional offers when these specific products are returned by clients. 6. If I do not have an AIR MILES Card, may I give my reward miles to a client who does have a Collector Card or to a Ace employee? No. Reward miles may only be accumulated by the holder of the AIR MILES Card linked to the transaction purchases. Reward miles may not be gifted and have no surrender value. 1
7. If I do not have my AIR MILES Card or promotional coupon with me when I make my purchases, can I return to get the reward miles for my transaction? To obtain the base reward miles, customers must have their Collector Card at the time of the transaction. If you have forgotten your Card, however, it is possible to have your cash register receipt initialled by the person responsible before leaving the store. You then have 7 days to return to the same store with both your cash register receipt and AIR MILES Card to request the reward miles that had not been credited to your Account. Exception for Bonus reward miles: The reward miles will be issued only if the customer comes back in store during the promotional period. Reason the bonus code won t be effective after the end of promotion. 8. How can I find out the balance of my AIR MILES Collector Account? Your Account balances are clearly indicated on airmiles.ca once you log in. 9. How can I update my personal information for my AIR MILES Account? Visit Your Account at airmiles.ca to update your personal information for your AIR MILES Account. 10. Will my reward miles expire? All reward miles that were posted in a Collector Account on or before December 31, 2011 will expire on December 31, 2016. All reward miles posted as of January 1, 2012 will expire 5 years later, on the last day of the quarter they were earned. 11. Can I use the AIR MILES Application or any other mobile wallet application that will allow my AIR MILES Card to be available at all times? These apps will allow you to accumulate reward miles via a bar code scan or from a manual entry of your Collector Card Number by the cashier. However, it is not possible to use this electronic card to pay for your purchases at Ace with AIR MILES Cash reward miles. 12. Why can I not use my electronic card to pay with AIR MILES Cash at Ace? Currently at Ace, the magnetic strip is necessary for payment with AIR MILES Cash. Developments are in progress to make this option available. 2
AIR MILES CASH REWARDS 1. What is AIR MILES Cash? This program enables you to redeem AIR MILES reward miles from your AIR MILES Cash balance to pay for your purchases when shopping at Ace or other participating Sponsors. What is the difference between Dream rewards and Dream balance and AIR MILES Cash? Dream rewards refer to the type of rewards we have always offered, including flights, vacations, events, merchandise and more. Collectors can use the reward miles in their Dream balance to redeem for more than 1,200 rewards. 2. How does the AIR MILES Cash Program work? 1.) ACTIVATE your Account and set your preference by visiting airmiles.ca/cash. 2.) EARN reward miles in your AIR MILES Cash balance. 3.) REDEEM your AIR MILES Cash balance reward miles to pay for your purchases at participating Sponsors. For every 95 reward miles in your Cash balance, you can get $10 off your purchases, up to a total of $750 per day, at AIR MILES Cash participating Sponsors. How does my preference work? Show me an example when I earn only a few reward miles. If you set your preference to 60% AIR MILES Cash and 40% Dream, for every 10 reward miles you earn, 6 reward miles will go into your AIR MILES Cash balance and 4 reward miles will go into your Dream balance. This is done automatically; you just have to shop and show your Collector Card as always. Our system will count 6X Cash + 4X Dream then start all over again every 10 reward miles. 3. Can I pay for all my purchases at Ace with AIR MILES Cash? All products in store, with the exception of the purchase of gift cards and purchases charged to store accounts. 3
4. Can I transfer reward miles between my Cash and Dream balances? No. It is not possible to transfer reward miles between Cash and Dream balances. Reward miles earned prior to the activation of your Cash Account are automatically allocated to your Dream balance. You can redeem Dream reward miles for rewards such as flights, trips, merchandise, etc. Only reward miles in your Cash balance may be used to pay for your purchases. 5. Is it possible to change my preference once it has been set? Yes. You can change your balance preference as often as you like by visiting airmiles.ca/cash. Your new preference will take effect at 3 a.m. EST the following day. For example, if you change your preference at 6 p.m. today, your new preference will take effect on any purchases you make after 3 a.m. tomorrow. 6. If I request a refund on products that I paid for with reward miles, will the reward miles be returned to me? No. Based on policy, it is not possible to return reward miles to an AIR MILES Collector Account. However, the amount of your purchases will be returned to you on Ace gift card. 7. Do I need to have my AIR MILES Collector Card with me to pay for my purchases with AIR MILES reward miles? Yes. Your AIR MILES Collector Card is required because it enables the checkout system to access your Account. 8. Is my information confidential and secure? Absolutely. The information in your Account is entirely confidential and the payment system is secured. All information is transferred through secure networks. 9. What happens if I lose my Collector Card? Go to the Account section on airmiles.ca and use the self service feature to lock your Account. You can order a replacement Card and it will be sent to you. 10. My Collector Card is as good as money. How can I protect my Collector Account? It s important to keep your AIR MILES Collector Card as you would do with your credit card. If you want to ensure that no one but yourself is redeeming instantly, you can also lock and unlock your Account at any time. 4
Here are a few other things to keep in mind to ensure your Collector Account is secure: Anyone who has a Collector Card on your Account will be able to redeem reward miles from your AIR MILES Cash balance in store. The AIR MILES Reward Program will also notify you by email any time a redemption is made from your AIR MILES Cash balance and when you change your balance preference, so you will always be aware of your Account activity. Visit the Your Account section of airmiles.ca for more details and to lock/unlock your Account. 11. How do I lock/unlock my Collector Account? Two options: 1.) Open a session on airmiles.ca by using your Collector Account Number and PIN. Go to Lock Your Account from the Your Account pull down menu options, then customize your Account features as you like. 2.) You can also use the AIR MILES app on your smart phone to make the change. 12. If I lose my Collector Card, can someone else use it? Yes. If you have not locked your Account to prevent instant redemptions, someone else may use it, since no PIN is necessary. 5
