Course Equivalency Guide between Ashford University and MacCormac College For the Catalog Year 2012-2013

Course Equivalency Guide between Ashford University and MacCormac College. Introduction This Articulation Agreement formally recognizes that Ashford University and MacCormac College are active educational partners, committed to providing greater educational opportunities and services for students transferring between our institutions. This commitment strongly supports the concept of seamless transfer that embraces the principle that transfer students should not be required to repeat competencies already achieved. Ashford University and MacCormac College enter into this Articulation Agreement in the spirit of cooperation and to mutually recognize each other as quality institutions of higher learning. Each institution is dedicated to serving students from diverse populations. Purpose The purpose of this Articulation Agreement is to enable MacCormac College students who transfer to Ashford University to carry with them the credit they have already earned for as much relevant study as possible. This Articulation Agreement provides a structure through which transfer articulation on all levels can be supported. The transfer guidelines outlined in this Articulation Agreement are applicable to students transferring to Ashford University from MacCormac College only. Transfer Elements MacCormac College graduates with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 entering under the terms of this agreement are guaranteed admission into a Bachelor s degree program at Ashford University provided they meet all admissions requirements for the degree program. The transfer guides outlined in this Articulation Agreement are applicable to students transferring to Ashford University from MacCormac College during the Catalog year 2012-2013. Under this agreement, MacCormac College students transferring with an associate degree with a 2.0 cumulative GPA or higher and recognized as meeting the general education requirement at state universities in Illinois will have met all General Education requirements at Ashford University. MacCormac College graduates will not have to repeat lower-division requirements at Ashford University except where major coursework applies. All credits are accepted and applied toward the appropriate university degree(s). MacCormac College students transferring without an aforementioned degree will have all college-level academic credit, with a grade of C- or better, accepted for transfer on a course-by-course basis. They may be applied as either an elective, general education requirement, or an exemption or replacement for a required course where applicable. Students may transfer up to 90 MacCormac College credits. MacCormac College graduates will go through Ashford University s transfer process and therefore must meet all applicable requirements and deadlines pertaining to application for admission, orientation and registration, and payment of tuition and fees. They will abide by the policies and procedures, along with any revisions thereof that apply to all students from that institution. An (*) denotes a total of 3 semester credits are necessary to fulfill the related General Education requirement. An (**) denotes that this science course must be accompanied by another 1 credit laboratory or 3 credit science course to fulfill the General Education requirement.» Students must have a minimum of 30 upper-division semester credits to meet graduation requirements.» Official transfer credit evaluation takes place once a student is enrolled at Ashford University and all official transcripts have been received. 1» Courses that meet more than one General Education requirement or direct transfer can only be applied to one area. A course cannot apply more than once unless it carries the required credit.
