CHECKLIST FOR DRAFT SCHEDULE DRIVING 2011 Event and Category: CAI-W Place: STOCKHOLM NF: SWEDEN Date: 25-27 November 2011 GENERAL CONDITIONS This event is organised in accordance with: FEI Statutes, 22 nd Edition, effective 15 April 2007, updates effective 1 January 2011 FEI General Regulations, 23 rd Edition, effective 1 January 2009, updates effective 1 January 2011 FEI Veterinary Regulations, 12 th Edition, effective 5 April 2010, updates effective 1 January 2011 FEI Anti-Doping Rules for Human Athletes (ADRHA): based on the 2009 revised Code, updates effective 1 January 2011 Equine Anti-Doping And Controlled Medication Regulations (EADCMRs), 1 st Edition, effective 5 April 2010, updates effective 1 January 2011 The Rules for Combined Driving Events, 10 th Edition, effective 1 January 2009, updates effective 1 January 2011. The Rules for FEI World CupTM for Four-In-Hand Driving, in effect for the season 2011-2012 - And all subsequent corrections and modifications to the above Rules and Regulations as published by the FEI. - An arbitration procedure is provided for in the FEI Statutes and General Regulations referred to above. In accordance with this procedure, any appeal against a decision rendered by the FEI or its official bodies is to be settled exclusively by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne, Switzerland. - It is the responsibility of NFs to ensure their participants are of the correct age, and that riders and horses are registered with the FEI. ******************************************************************* This schedule is approved, provided the corrections and additions as made by the FEI have been made. The National Federation and Organising committee are obliged to ensure that the mandatory sections in the approved schedule is forwarded to guest NFs and Officials for their information. N.B. All text in shown in GREEN must be carefully noted by Organising Committees and NF and may be deleted from the schedule before printing, ONLY after the final approval of the FEI. NOTICE FOR ALL INTERNATIONAL EVENTS Any competitions other than those covered in the Rules for Driving Events must be approved by the FEI before they may be added to the schedule Schedules for CAI-A4,2,1/CAIP-A4,2,1/CAI-B4,2,1/CAIP-B4,2,1 and Championships are approved by the FEI. Schedules for these events must be sent to the FEI Secretariat for approval by the NF concerned, at least 16 weeks before the event is due to take place. Definite schedules must be sent to the FEI Secretariat by the NFs concerned at least 4 weeks before the event takes place. Final approval of the draft schedule by the FEI, in accordance with the General Regulations, denotes only that the contents conform to the FEI Statutes, General Regulations and Rules. By no means does this entail implicit acceptance of any liability by the FEI for any damages to third parties caused by the Organising Committee and its officials, riders, drivers, owners, and their horses. This schedule is approved, provided the corrections and additions as made by the FEI have been made. The National Federation and Organising committee are obliged to ensure that the mandatory sections in the approved schedule is forwarded to guest NFs and Officials for their information. IMPORTANT The Definite schedules must be sent to the FEI Secretariat by the NFs concerned, no later than 4 weeks before the event takes place. 2

TO BE PUBLISHED VERBATIM IN ALL SCHEDULES THE FEI CODE OF CONDUCT FOR THE WELFARE OF THE HORSE The Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) expects all those involved in international equestrian sport to adhere to the FEI s Code of Conduct and to acknowledge and accept that at all times the welfare of the horse must be paramount and must never be subordinated to competitive or commercial influences. 1. At all stages during the preparation and training of competition horses, welfare must take precedence over all other demands. This includes good horse management, training methods, farriery and tack, and transportation. 2. Horses and competitors must be fit, competent and in good health before they are allowed to compete. This encompasses medication use, surgical procedures that threaten welfare or safety, pregnancy in mares and the misuse of aids. 3. Events must not prejudice horse welfare. This involves paying careful attention to the competition areas, ground surfaces, weather conditions, stabling, site safety and fitness of the horse for onward travel after the event. 4. Every effort must be made to ensure that horses receive proper attention after they have competed and that they are treated humanely when their competition careers are over. This covers proper veterinary care, competition injuries, euthanasia and retirement. 5. The FEI urges all involved with the sport to attain the highest levels of education in their areas of expertise. Competitors who arrive earlier, or wish to stay longer after the free period, must pay the costs for extra nights directly to the hotel. Extras such drinks, telephone etc is not included. Any competitor, who stays in another hotel, changes rooms, or who does not accept the rule of the assigned hotel, or 7

who stables his/ her horses elsewhere, will have to pay any extra cost involved and forfeit any advantages. In case that a competitor does not show up according to the reservation, the OC will charge the concerned NF with all relevant costs. Please note; The OC can only provide reservation of rooms for riders and grooms. Cost to be paid by OC d) Welcome The time and date of arrival of drivers and horses and their means of transport must be given to the OC in order to facilitate them upon arrival. e) Local transportation arrangements from Hotel to Show grounds The walking distance from the Hotel to the Arena is approx 2 minutes. Shuttle service will be available between the airport and the Hotel. Please apply for shuttle service in advance. f) Advertising and publicity on competitors and horses (See GR and Art. 913.2, 913.3) Advertisting in Competition A and C: The competitors are authorised by the OC to display the logo of their personal sponsor on the carriage in accordance with the General Regulations and Art. 913.2. Advertising in Competition B: The competitors are authorised by the OC to display the logo of their personal sponsor on the marathon carriage and on the back(s) of the groom(s) in accordance with the GR and Art. 913.3. 8

7. MISCELLANEOUS a) PRIZE GIVING CERMONY Information of the numbers of drivers presented at the prizegiving ceremony will be informed in the show office each day. b) DEDUCTIONS FROM PRIZE MONEY Foreign horse owners 15 % tax will be deducted. Please note that the tax is deductible in your own home country. Swedish resident horse owners tax laid down by the Swedish law will be deducted. The Organiser takes no responsibility for possible changes in tax regulations. Prizemoney will be paid directly to the driver/ horseowner after the show by transferring the money to the drivers/ horseowners bankaccount. The competitor are kindly asked to inform the Organisers Account Manager the following details: name and address of bank, swift address, IBAN code and account number. Please fill in all bankdetails in Hippobase with the definite entries! c) INSURANCES The Organiser, the Organising Committee and all persons working for the Organiser shall not be liable for any material or physical damage, accident or illness which may occur to owners, renters, competitors under any circumstances, within or out of the competition ground before, during or after the competitions. The organizer, the Organising Committee and all persons working for the Organiser shall not be liable damage to driving vehicles, saddlers stable attachment and other property, including theft and loss. The competitor indemnifies the Organiser, the Organising Committee and all persons working for the organizers from liability with regards to claims made by third parties including the owners and renters of the horses, for the compensation by the Organiser, the Organising Committee and all persons working for the organizer for all material or physical damage, of whatever nature, suffered by these third parties. All owners, renters and competitors are personally liable for damages to third person caused by themselves and all persons working for them, and caused by their horses. They are strongly advised to take out third party insurance providing full coverage for participation in equestrian events at home and abroad and to keep this policy up to date. 8.
