WHAT S THE NEW INVESTMENT MENU? The 401(k) Savings Plan Will Offer Three Investment s Targeted To Your Investing Style What is Your Investing Style? TIER 1 Simplified Investing TIER 2 Build and Manage Your Investment Mix TIER 3 Specialty Investment Options I want an easy and convenient approach to investing. Explore 1 of your new fund menu: the Wells Fargo Dow Jones Target Date Funds. I am comfortable with investing but appreciate some guidance. Explore the options in 2 of your new fund menu. You can get guidance to help you make investing decisions with Fidelity s Portfolio Review tool. I am comfortable researching or choosing investments and want more choices. Consider the options in 2 of your new fund menu and explore the Fidelity BrokerageLink option in 3. See the separate Target Date Funds information flyer you received along with the enclosed Investment Options Guide. See the enclosed Investment Options Guide. After the week of September 12, go to www.netbenefits.com, click Guidance & Retirement on the top navigation bar, then Investment Guidance. See the enclosed Investment Options Guide. Request a separate kit of information about Fidelity BrokerageLink. 7

Target Date Funds: What to Expect? Target Date Funds make retirement investing easier. With just one choice, you get a Fund that s diversified across stocks, bonds and cash. The Wells Fargo Dow Jones Target Date Funds offer an array of Funds with different time horizons, making it easy to find a Fund that matches your expected retirement date. The Funds offer investors a well-diversified portfolio of stocks, bonds and cash in a single investment. > REMEMBER It s your responsibility to ensure the options you select are consistent with your particular situation, including your goals, time horizon and risk tolerance. The Funds are designed to allow you to select a Fund based on the date you plan to retire. Each Fund automatically adjusts its asset allocation to become more conservative as the target date nears and beyond. It continues to become more conservative until ten years after the target date, at which time the asset allocation remains static. Each Fund is professionally managed and automatically rebalances for investors. 1 Simplified Investing This tier features Wells Fargo Dow Jones Target Date Funds. These funds are being added to the plan and are designed to simplify investing by letting you choose the one with the date closest to the date you expect to retire or withdraw money from your plan account. Each fund provides an all-in-one asset allocation strategy, by investing in a mix of stocks, bonds and short-term investments that gradually grows more conservative as it moves closer to its target date and beyond. To learn more about the Target Date Funds, refer to the separate information flyer you received along with the Investment Options Guide. 8

WHAT S THE NEW INVESTMENT MENU? 2 Build and Manage Your Investment Mix This tier features a broad range of options. In addition, any shares of the UnitedHealth Group Stock Fund that you previously held will be transferred into a similar account held at Fidelity. However, this Fund is closed to new contributions and exchanges into the Fund. This means that you can sell UnitedHealth Group shares held in this Fund, but you may not purchase any new shares or transfer other existing account balances into this Fund. Categories to the left have potentially more inflation risk and less investment risk Categories to the right have potentially less inflation risk and more investment risk MANAGED INCOME (OR STABLE VALUE) BOND DOMESTIC EQUITY INTERNATIONAL/ GLOBAL EQUITY COMPANY STOCK UnitedHealth Group Stable Value Fund Dodge & Cox Income Fund LARGE BLEND EB Diversified Stock Fund Vanguard Institutional Index Fund Institutional Plus Shares American Funds EuroPacific Growth Fund Class R-6 UnitedHealth Group Stock Fund MID BLEND Vanguard Mid-Cap Index Fund Institutional Shares Wellington Mid-Cap Opportunities Portfolio Series 2 SMALL BLEND Fidelity Small Company Fund Vanguard Small-Cap Index Fund Institutional Shares This spectrum, with the exception of the Domestic Equity category, is based on Fidelity s analysis of the characteristics of the general investment categories and not on the actual investment options and their holdings, which can change frequently. Investment options in the Domestic Equity category are based on the options Morningstar categories as of June 30, 2010. Morningstar categories are based on a fund s style as measured by its underlying portfolio holdings over the past three years and may change at any time. These style calculations do not represent the investment options objectives and do not predict the investment options future styles. Investment options are listed in alphabetical order within each investment category. Risk associated with the investment options can vary significantly within each particular investment category and the relative risk of categories may change under certain economic conditions. For a more complete discussion of risk associated with the mutual fund options, please read the prospectuses before making your investment decisions. The spectrum does not represent actual or implied performance. In general the bond market is volatile, and bond funds entail interest rate risk. (As interest rates rise, bond prices usually fall, and vice versa. This effect is usually more pronounced for longer-term securities.) Bond funds also entail the risk of issuer or counterparty default, issuer credit risk, and inflation risk. The securities of smaller, less well-known companies can be more volatile than those of larger companies. Foreign securities are subject to interest-rate, currency-exchange-rate, economic, and political risks, all of which are magnified in emerging markets. The UnitedHealth Group Stock Fund may have more or less investment risk than some of the Plan s other option. However, investing in a single security generally has more risk than a more diversified investment option. 9
