SOUTH DAKOTA EMERGENCY NURSES ASSOCIATION TRAUMA NURSE CORE COURSES (I) INSTRUCTOR COURSE March 31 & October 27, 2016 Sioux Falls, South Dakota Course Description: The TNCC-Instructor class (TNCC-I) is a one-day course designed to prepare nurses to become TNCC instructors. The nurse must have successfully completed the TNCC Provider updated 6 th or 7 th Edition course and be a current TNCC(P). The TNCC-I emphasizes appropriate teaching strategies as well as correct evaluation methods. Learners will demonstrate their ability to lecture, teach, and evaluate psychomotor skill stations. Upon successful completion of this course, the learner is recognized as an instructor candidate Participants: The Emergency Nurses Association TNCC-I may be attended by selected Registered Nurses with an unrestricted license who are currently verified as a TNCC provider (6 th or 7 th Edition). Consideration for acceptance in a TNCC-I must be supported by the following application documents: TNCC-Instructor Course Admission Requirements: 1. A letter received from the TNCC Provider Course Director with whom you took your most recent TNCC-Provider Course, indicating your Instructor Potential. 2. This completed Instructor Course Participant Data Form (attached). 3. A letter of recommendation from a current TNCC-Provider Course Director stating they will assist you in completing the education and monitoring process necessary to become a full Instructor. This Course Director must also state their ability to provide teaching opportunities for you as a TNCC Instructor in their future TNCC classes.
4. Submit a copy of your current TNCC Provider card you must be a current TNCC Provider to take the TNCC-Instructor Course! 5. Payment via check to: South Dakota Emergency Nurses Association or SDENA Guidelines for Successful TNCC Instructor Completion: Participant must re-verify their Provider status by: Achieving at least a 90% on the written TNCC(P) test Achieving at least an 85% on the (Nursing Process) Skill Stations Note: Retests are not allowed. If unsuccessful with the above testing component, Emergency Nurses Association rules do NOT allow you to advance into the Instructor Course. Preparation is vital! Participants must attend and complete entire course Participants must successfully demonstrate their ability to teach and to evaluate psychomotor skill stations.
