Our beginning. The Dubai Gold & Commodities Exchange (DGCX) is one of five financial exchanges in the Middle East. DGCX is majority owned by the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), an entity of the Government of Dubai. DGCX launched its maiden contract on gold futures in November 2005 & has since added derivatives on other Precious Metals, Base Metals, Currencies, Energy & Equity Indices. The exchange has more than 250 members & is regulated by the Securities & Commodities Authority (SCA). Clearing is provided by the Dubai Commodities Clearing Corporation (DCCC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of DGCX. In March 2013 DGCX migrated to an industry leading exchange platform called EOS powered by Cinnober, the leading technology provider.

Pre-funded Margins/ SPAN based RMS Designed to ensure sufficient funds to cover potential losses in a default situation in normal market conditions. IM collected upfront, thereby restricting risks of default due to intra-day price movements. DGCX-RMS uses Standard Portfolio Analysis of Risk (SPAN) methodology for determining IM for all portfolios. IM requirements are back-tested and reviewed at regular intervals. On reaching real time IM limit, system prohibits Members from taking fresh positions. Re- Calculate Positions Calculate IM using SPAN Compare IM Obligation with Collateral Trigger Violations

Membership with DGCX Banks, futures commission merchants, foreign brokers, broker-dealers hedge funds, commodity pools, commodity trading advisors, introducing brokers, commercial entities, proprietary trading firms and other corporate entities are eligible for DGCX membership. Memberships offered: Broker Membership - Broker Members to trade all DGCX contracts either on behalf of their clients or on a proprietary basis. Trade Membership - Trade Members to trade all DGCX contracts on a proprietary basis only. Special Clearing Membership Can independently take up clearing membership.
