N E T A F I M U S A FILTRATION APOLLO DISCKLEEN FILTER HIGH PERFORMANCE, RELIABLE, COST EFFECTIVE FILTRATION SOLUTION
FILTER MORE FOR LESS The Apollo Automatic DiscKleen Filter allows you to filter more for less. It has all the benefits of the Galaxy Filter which has been used by growers successfully and reliably for 10 years but with these enhanced features. SAVE MONEY BY REDUCING FILTER SIZE MORE FILTER AREA The Apollo features a longer filter element (spine) with larger discs (rings) producing a 20% larger filtration area than a comparable Galaxy filter. This larger filtration area means each filter unit can accommodate a higher flow rate which lowers the price per GPM of filtered water. The total number of filter units required for a specific flow rate is reduced lowering the cost of the filter battery. SAVE MONEY BY REDUCING PUMP SIZE & ENERGY COSTS LESS PRESSURE REQUIRED FOR CLEANING Only psi is required for backflushing. This lower pressure requirement eliminates the need to oversize the pump for adequate flushing. It reduces the need for a Pressure Sustaining Normally Open (PSNO) Valve downstream of the filter to maintain adequate backflush pressure. A lower backflush pressure saves energy costs. SAVE TIME & MONEY WHEN FILTER NEEDS MOVING MORE PORTABLE The Apollo filter is lightweight with a small footprint making it easy to move. This portability is ideal for crop rotations and rental units in row crop applications. SAVE MONEY ON MAINTENANCE COSTS OVER THE LIFE OF THE FILTER MORE CHEMICAL RESISTANCE Made from high density synthetic materials, the Apollo filter is corrosionproof not just corrosion resistant. Chemical injection upstream of the filter unit will not damage any filter components. SAVE TIME & MONEY WITH THIS PREASSEMBLED FILTER LESS INSTALLATION COSTS The Apollo filter arrives fully assembled for a quick and easy water in/water out installation. A small footprint reduces the size and cost of the concrete pad. ANGLE CONFIGURATION CONFIGURATION 2
ADVANCED DISC FILTRATION TECHNOLOGY Disc filters fall into the category of depth filtration filters because they add an additional dimension to the cleaning process. A filter element contains a stack of compressed discs with an overlapping series of grooves that force the debris to move through numerous trap points. This process increases the likelihood of capturing debris. Because of the increase in filtration surface area, the frequency of cleaning drops and cleaning is easier. FILTRATION PROCESS During the filtration process, the discs are tightly compressed together allowing clean water to pass through the discs and trap debris. BACKFLUSH PROCESS As debris in a filter increases, the backflush process is initiated. The discs separate and jets of clean water spray and spin the discs removing the trapped debris which is then flushed out. FILTRATION MODE BACKFLUSH MODE APOLLO GALAXY IMPROVED FILTER SPINE With a longer spine assembly and larger discs, the Apollo DiscKleen Filter has a 20% larger filtration area than a comparable Galaxy filter. The Apollo features a redesigned piston which allows backflushing at a lower pressure, psi 2% lower than a Galaxy. APOLLO GALAXY FILTER SPINES FILTER DISCS EASIER ACCESS TO THE DISCS The Apollo filter includes an easytorelease clamp around each filter unit. No tools are required to remove the filter cover and access the discs. This makes maintenance and troubleshooting quick and simple. 1 2 3 3
GREATER BENEFITS THAN SAND MEDIA FILTERS Netafim s Apollo DiscKleen Filter and Sand Media Filters both provide quality depth filtration which ensures maximum protection of your irrigation system with surface or well water. The Apollo Filter matches the Sand Media Filter with PERFORMANCE, RELIABILITY and LONGEVITY. However, the Apollo offers numerous benefits not available with Sand Media Filters. BENEFIT COMPARISON APOLLO FOOTPRINT Small PORTABILITY Easy INSTALLATION LABOR Minimal SAND Not Required REQUIRES ASSEMBLY No BACKFLUSH PRESSURE psi SAND MEDIA Large Cumbersome Extensive Required Yes psi SHORTER LENGTH OF FLUSH CYCLE Apollo flushes five times faster than Sand Media filters. Less interruption of water flow to the field while irrigating maintaining higher uniformity. LENGTH OF FLUSH CYCLE FLUSH TIME DWELL TIME TOTAL TIME APOLLO 20 sec sec 2 sec SAND MEDIA sec sec 120 sec PORTABLE & EASY TO MOVE Apollo filter can be mounted on a small, inexpensive utility trailer and easily moved from field to field. Sand Media filters are bulky and heavy and require a larger, more expensive heavyduty trailer to move. LESS OVERALL WATER USED FOR FLUSHING The Apollo filter may flush more frequently than Sand Media filters, but will use 4% less water overall. Shorter overall flush cycle ensures better uniformity of irrigation. There is less flush water to dispose of or filter for reuse. APOLLO FILTER 2600 GALLON 2600 GALLON SAND MEDIA FILTER 4

Will not corrode. STAINLESS STEEL SAND MEDIA FILTERS are sensitive to chlorine and bacteria in the water and can develop pin holes. STAINLESS STEEL SAND MEDIA FILTERS can rust and leak at the seam and weld points.
