Operation Charging the battery 1. 2. 3. Plug the USB cable (included) into the USB port on the video camera, and then into a USB 2.0 port on your computer. The red indicator light will blink while the internal rechargeable battery is charging. Charging time is approximately 2 hours. The red indicator light will remain lit and not blink when the battery is fully charged. Checking the battery Slide the POWER switch to ON and press the RECORDING button for 4 seconds. The red indicator light will blink between 1 and 4 times. 1 time means the battery is at near-full capacity and 4 times means the battery is nearly extinguished. If the red indicator light blinks rapidly and the entire unit shuts off, the battery is drained and you need to recharge. Mounting the video camera 1. 2. 3. The video camera can be used by holding it in your hand, or mounting it to a secure point for filming. Use the CLIP BRACKET to hold the video camera and clip it securely to anything. The CLIP BRACKET allows the camera to twist in a 180 circle and capture virtually any angle. Use the multi bracket in conjunction with the CLIP BRACKET to capture video at any angle. Secure MULTI BRACKET with magnet or mount with screws. 5

Inserting the microsd card 1. 2. Insert the included microsd card into the video camera as depicted under the card slot. Press the card all the way in until you hear a click and the card is held securely. To remove the microsd card, press it in until you hear a click and the card ejects enough for you to grasp and pull it from the video camera. Recording a video manually 1. 2. 3. Make sure the VOX switch is in the OFF position. Slide the POWER switch to ON and press the RECORD button. The red indicator light will blink once and the green indicator light will blink slowly, indicating the video camera is recording. To stop filming, press the RECORD button again. The green indicator light will stop blinking and the red indicator light will stay on continuously. Your video will be saved as an AVI format file for you to download to your PC. Note: You must press the RECORD button to stop recording. If you slide the POWER switch to OFF while recording, the file will not be saved. If at any time the video camera does not react when the POWER switch is pressed, the device needs to be recharged. 4. Slide the POWER switch to the OFF position to shut off the video camera. 6

Recording a voice activated video (VOX) 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Slide the VOX switch to ON and slide the POWER switch to ON. Press the RECORD button. The video camera will go into STANDBY mode. The video camera will start to record continuously when a voice or sound 65 decibels or higher trips its automatic recording device. The camera will stop recording and go into STANDBY mode when the sound of 65 decibels or higher has stopped for longer than 2 minutes. The video camera will automatically record and go back into STANDBY mode for as long as the POWER and VOX switches are ON. Note: When the video camera is in STANDBY mode, the power switch can be slid to OFF and all of your recordings will be saved in an AVI file format. IF the video camera is still recording, you must press the RECORD button to stop recording video, and then slide the POWER switch to off. If you do not press the RECORD button to stop the recording, the entire file will not be saved. If at any time the video camera does not react when the POWER switch is pressed, the device needs to be recharged. 6. To shut off the VOX, slide the VOX switch to the OFF position. To shut the video camera off completely, slide the POWER switch to OFF. 7

Taking a snapshot 1. 2. 3. Slide the POWER switch to ON. The red indicator light will illuminate. Press the SNAPSHOT button once to take a still photo. The red indicator light will go off and the green indicator light will blink once. The snapshot will be saved to the microsd card for you to download to your PC. The red indicator light will then re-illuminate to let you know the video camera s power is still on. Slide the POWER switch to the OFF position to shut off the video camera. RTC time setting and update 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. You may select RTC (Real Time) to be printed on video and pictures. To update the RTC setting, select Set time.exe after installing the software on your PC. After installation, an icon will appear on your desktop. By connecting the video camera to your PC via the included USB, it allows it to function as a mobile disk. Double click on the set time icon. Click browse in the pop-up box and choose MD91 mobile disk and confirm. Click the update button, and another message box will appear. Confirm to finish the time setting in accordance with your PC. After you remove the USB cable, you must then resume using the video camera to have your time settings take effect and update. 8

Checking the memory Slide the POWER switch to ON and press the SNAPSHOT button for 4 seconds. The green indicator light will blink between 1 and 4 times. 1 time means the memory is at near-empty capacity and 4 times means the memory is at near-full capacity. Saving and playing a file 1. 2. Connect the video camera to your PC via the included USB cable and slide the POWER switch to on and VOX switch to OFF. Copy your video file from the video camera to PC. You can also use a card reader to retrieve the files. You can play video either by MDPlayer on the included software CD or use other media players such as Media Player or KMPlayer. Using as a PC camera (Windows only) 1. 2. 3. Install the video camera driver before using the video camera as a PC camera. After connecting the video camera to the PC using the included USB cable, slide the VOX switch first, and then the POWER switch, to the ON position. A video device will appear on the PC screen, indicating the video camera is now being used as a PC camera. 9

Note: You can only copy the data from the video camera when the POWER switch is ON and the VOX switch is OFF. The video camera can be used as a PC camera when the POWER switch is ON and the VOX switch is also on. IMPORTANT: Slide the POWER switch to OFF before plugging in and unplugging the USB cable. Care and maintenance Wipe the video camera clean with a soft, dry cloth. DO NOT use water, any harsh abrasives or any liquid of any kind to clean the video camera. Store the video camera in the included pouch for its protection. Keep the box and instructions for storage and additional information purposes. 10

Troubleshooting Problem Cause solution The unit will not record. Card is full. Card not formatted correctly. Delete files off card to create space. Format card. Will not work right out of box. Sound is good, but video progression is not good during playback. VOX does not work. My memory card does not record consistent video lengths. Low battery. Did not copy to computer to play. Sound is too low, or the distance is too far. Certain environments may be busy and very colorful, so it would use more storage. Charge the unit before first use. Use the MDPlayer in the software, or copy the video to your computer before playing. Try getting closer to the subject you are trying to record. Use a larger storage capacity memory card if you are mainly recording complex scenery. 13

Troubleshooting Problem Cause solution Install webcam driver. The PC camera does not function. Make sure the webcam driver is installed. The webcam does not function with Mac. Green indicator light is on, but the unit is not recording. There is no sound with my video. Files are not being saved. The card may be malfunctioning, or it has not been formatted correctly. Volume on your computer may be low or off. Sound may have been too faint to pick up. Power is being shut off before the RECORD button is pressed. Format the card. Choose a new card. Turn on and/or up the volume of your computer. Make sure the sounds you are trying to capture with video are loud enough for it to record. Make sure to press the RECORD button before powering the unit off. 14

Troubleshooting Problem Cause solution The time displayed isn't correct. Time can't be set. Unnatural sound is heard on video sound track. Time was not set, or not set correctly. The card is not formatted. The battery is low. Reset the time with the SetTime.exe software. Format the card. Recharge the battery. 15
