1. The Address Program
New authorative address register The Address Program is a sub-program of the Danish Basic Data Program that the danish government, municipalities and regions in October 2012 decided to implement The new authorative address register is a project of the address program The Additional Addresses Project ensure that all addresses that are needed in the register wil be there in 2017
Decision It has been decided to unify the existing address registers into one autorative register - It will provide full acces to precise and up-to-date information on every address ind Denmark - It is simple and free of charge
Main goals for the Address Program The main goals of the Address Program is to improve: The data quality of adresses (timeliness, accuracy) The back end infrastructure of addressing The dataservice (reliable, open services for mapping, online access and download)
The Address program 9 projects Address register Place names Address services Administrative divisions Building a new place name system, adding more place names New map based address register (DAR) Building a system, adding new administrative divisons Addresses to persons (CPR) Address regulations Addresses to companies (SKAT) Additional addresses Administrative order and changes in BBR-law and other law coordination Establishing effective, realtime data services online and as download Addresses to companies (CVR) Ensures that the registration of of citizens in CPR happens at authoritative addresses Additional addresses in areas and buildings with few addresses Ensures that company's registration in CVR happens at authoritative addresses
2. Additional Addresses Project
Missing or few Addresses A vital part of the process of better quality of addresses involves supplementing the address base in various areas not previosly covered by the adress network: Industrial areas Shopping centres Allotments Universities Hospitals Public institutions
The need of the adresses Logistical problems for the postal service and others who need to deliver services to theese locations It could have fatal consequences if the satellite navigation system in an ambulance or a fire engine fails to find an exact location in time User need for hand held mobile devices
The main goals for the Additional Addresses Project The mail goals for the project is: To ensure almost 100 percent address coverage
3. Taskforce a unique cooperation
The Taskforce The task has been entrusted to a taskforce 3 years to solving the task Comprising representatives from: - Ministry of Housing, Urban and Rural Affairs - 3 danish municipalities and their organisation, - LGDK Worked closely with Post Danmark, assisted by their address experts when required
Collaboration A unique, close collabroration between Government and local authorities. The government has overall responsibility for the new unified address register The municipalities have valuable local knowledge and are implementing the work in practice, identifying and creating the many new addresses
4. Preparation
Preparation The task is extensive and the mission of the task force is therefore to ensure that the process is clear and simple for the municipalities to prepare and implement as possible The task force mapped approx. 70.000-100.000 unofficial adresses and areas that the municipalies shall decide how to cower in terms of addresses The task force have obtained information of users of these unofficial addresses and whom to contact to discuss the new adresses

Silver plate The task force decided early on in the proces that they would serve the information on a Silver plate for the municipalities = Closed smart site with: Work-list with areas in question Cookbooks Information letters Letter templates Map-based addressing tool Public campain

6. Work in progress
Supporting the municipalities Even with a well prepared package-solution those who must do the job is still the municipalities who have the legal responsibillity to improve and maintain adresses Therefore the taskforce now is focusing on helping the municipalities to understand the rules and the task correctly, and complete the task in time

Everyone benefits Ultimate goal: To have a single cohesive register of correct addresses by 2017 Everyone can use addresses easily and free of charge The register can be a springboard for a range of innovative new services It will underpin cost-effective digital administration
Everyone benefits It will garantee that post, goods and vital emergency services can reach the correct addresses quicly When the addresses are complete the annually revenues for the danish society are expected to be approx. DKK 250 million annually (DKK 180 million in the public sector)
