1 Introduction The OSPlust TCP/IP extension supports STMicroelectronics ST20, ST40 and ST200 based devices. It is available for Microsoft Windows, Red Hat Linux and Solaris platforms. The OSPlus TCP/IP extension package contains the following product features: NexGenIP: the embedded TCP/IP stack. NexGenBOOT: a set of libraries that works with the TCP/IP stack and includes client and server-side support for BootP and DHCP, and client-side support for TFTP. NexGenPPP: a layer used with the TCP/IP stack for point-to-point connections. The point-to-point protocol (PPP) is used as a link between a variety of hosts, bridges, and routers. It is an alternative to serial line internet protocol (SLIP) which is supported through the serial driver included in the OSPlus base package. NexGenREMOTE: a set of utilities that provide FTP client and server, and Telnet functionality. NexGenRESOLV: a DNS resolver that provides a mechanism for using named resources. Network access is provided through the SMSC LAN 91C11, SMSC LAN 9x1x, STMAC110 and serial port drivers that are part of the base OSPlus package. It is also possible to use USB attached networking devices, such as USB Ethernet adapters, cable modems, host-to-host cables and USB serial adapters. Support for USB networking devices is provided by the ST USB 2.0 OSPlus extension package. Separate products are available for ST20, ST40 and ST200 based devices. The ST OSPlus TCP/IP libraries are provided in binary form. Each product is delivered on a CD-ROM that includes installation files for all three supported host operating systems, plus the installation files for the required base OSPlus packages. 1.1 Prerequisites An ST20, ST40 or ST200 based device.
