IPC-A-610 Certified Trainer Revision D Training 610 CIT IPC-A-610 Certified Training Course Training Course Topics Role and responsibilities of trainers Handling electronic assemblies Criteria for hardware installation - threaded fasteners, connector pins Soldering requirements for terminals and plated through holes, including lead free Surface mounted criteria for chip components, cylindrical components, leadless chip carriers, leaded components and ball grid arrays Requirements for component damage Criteria for laminate conditions, cleanliness and coatings Acceptance criteria for solderless wrap requirements and jumper wires Requirements for high voltage applications Using the lesson plan and materials effectively, and a review of training skills Certification On successful completion of the examination the student will receive the IPC-A-610 Trainer Certificate. This is valid for 2 years after the course completion date. On successfully completing the course, the trainer will receive all the necessary training materials to carry out the Application Specialist courses. 610 CIT IPC Certification Centre IPC-A-610 Certified Trainer How the Certification Programme Works The IPC-A-610 training and certification programme has two tiers of instruction - Certified Trainers and Application Specialists. Candidates are sent by their companies to receive five days of training in the IPC-A-610 document at an approved certification training centre. Once they have completed the course, and have passed the examination, trainers are then qualified to train their company s workers in the IPC-A-610 Application Specialist training programme. This programme will greatly assist companies dedicated to ISO-9000 or other quality assurance initiatives. As the IPC specification is a widely accepted standard, this will have immediate recognition throughout the electronics industry. Who should become a Certified Trainer Any person who is responsible for quality and reliability of electronic assemblies :- i.e. quality supervisors and engineering manufacturing supervisors with assembly responsibilities would all make excellent candidates for training. 610 CIS IPC Certification Centre IPC-A-610 Application Specialist Training Who should attend the Application Specialist Training? This certification and training programme is designed for maintenance technicians, operators, process engineers, quality managers and anyone responsible for the quality and reliability of electronic assemblies. Application Specialist Certification The IPC 610 Application Specialist course is now modularised. Training on the entire syllabus is not required, however, the following Modules are mandatory: Module 1 Module 2 Introduction/IPC Professional Policies and Procedures Foreword, Applicable Documents & Handling The remaining Modules 3-9 are optional: Module 3 Module 4 Module 5 Module 6 Module 7 Module 8 Module 9 Hardware Installation Soldering (including High Voltage) Terminal Connections Through-Hole Technology (including Jumper Wires) Surface Mount Assemblies (including Jumper Wires) Component Damage and Printed Circuit Boards and Assemblies Solderless Wire Wrap To attain certification, some of the above modules must be combined, i.e. If Module 6 is required, then Modules 4 and 8 must also be completed. 610 CIS IPC-A-610 Application Specialist Training Certification Everyone who successfully completes the IPC-A-610 Application Specialist Training and examination will receive the IPC-A-610 Application Specialist Certificate. This certificate is valid for 2 years after the course completion date. Course Duration: 3 Days if all modules are required Otherwise duration varies according to the number of modules required Course Costs : 200 per person per day Lunch is included in the course fees, but V.A.T. should be added. 001 CIT J-STD-001 Certified Trainer Certification Revision D Training On successful completion of the examination the student will receive the J-STD-001 Trainer Certification. This certificate is valid for 2 years after the course completion date. On successful completion of the course, the J-STD-001 Trainer will receive all the necessary materials to carry out the Application Specialist training. This means that training on the entire syllabus is not required. Delegates must be trained on the Introductory section, and then may train on the other modules as required. Everyone who successfully completes the J-STD-001 Application Specialist Training and examination will receive a J-STD-001 Application Specialist certificate. This certificate is valid for 2 years after the course completion date. Who should attend the Application Specialist Training? IPC/WHMA-A-620 Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies Trainer Certification Training Certification The IPC-A-620 Trainer training is a comprehensive certification programme which covers the accept/reject criteria for Cable/Wires and Crimping etc. The certification training course is available at Trainer level and is run on the same lines as the IPC-A-610 certification. Once the delegates have completed the course, the trainers will then be qualified to train their staff in the IPC 620 Application Specialist training.
