RAlpin AG FACT & FIGURES Untertitel > Between Freiburg and Novara RAlpin AG is operating in average 120 Trains each week. On the Gotthard there is a pair of trains each day. Yearly there are totally 5 500 Trains on track. > RAlpin feeds yaearly 100 000 trucks on the Lötschberg and 5 500 trucks on the Gotthard line. > The fleet consist in 30 coaches and 425 ultra low floor freight cars (Saadkms) > Each year the Rola is running 1 400 000 km. ORDINARY MAINTENANCE INTERVALS Wheelset Ordinary maintenance interval for the wheelset is 80 000 km Approx every 7 months the wheelset is returned to the maintenance shop Approx 6 000 wheelset / year maintained in RAlpin AG wheelset maintenance shop with six operators / one shift 3 maintenance levels: Level 1: turning of wheel profile Level 2: Level 1 + bearing refurbishment Level 3: complete maintenance program 25.11.2013 RAlpin AG Titel 8
ROLLING STOCK MANAGEMENT DATABASE Saadkms - Every vehicle, bogie, wheelset and component is registered in our «rama» database (supplier, production lot, serial number and production date) - Identification in the maintenance shop by barcode and laser scanner - Complete maintenance history registered in the database - Mileage uploaded in the database on a regular base - The management software is steering the maintenance level of the components depending on different inputs (mileage, cycles, finding at incoming inspection, boundary values ecc.) - The operator is only responsible to give the correct inputs in the system - Every maintenance step is producing inputs / outputs for the database 25.11.2013 RAlpin AG Titel 9

EXTRAORDINARY MAINTENANCE Wheelset The return from the operation is processed into the rolling stock management database in a short time The input will affect the maintenance interval and level of the component (f. ex. If the wheelset is caught three times by the hot box with a temperature over the first thresold value (80 C), the freight car and therefore the wheelset will return to maintenance shop and the bearing checked within one week) The operator in the maintenance shop will be informed on the incoming inspection mask of the database in case of extraordinary maintenance procedures 25.11.2013 RAlpin AG Titel 13
EXTRAORDINARY MAINTENANCE Wheelset Extraordinary maintenance can be triggered by the maintenance shop floor based on findings during ordinary maintenance too. The components can be identified in the database and the freight cars put in quarantine very fastly The recall of vehicles can be done in parallel to the ordinary maintenance preserving the high safety level of our rolling stock fleet 25.11.2013 RAlpin AG Titel 14
