Praying Your Neighbors to Christ H.E.A.R.T. PRAYER SKIT

HEART Prayer Guide H.E.A.R.T. Prayer It is important to understand the power of prayer in witnessing. Prayer is not an option. Our personal relationship with Christ will not thrive without it. Prayer results in cleansing of the heart and life. What does Romans 10:1-2 imply? It implies that we should be praying for the lost. Just as Paul prayed for the lost to be saved, so should we. Earnest prayer for the lost is the believer s never-ending task. Prayer not only releases the power of God in the lives of the lost, but also motivates believers to be faithful in witnessing. As you prepare for your Praying Your Neighbor to Christ efforts, use the HEART process below. Using the HEART acrostic to pray for the lost: Read Luke 8:5-12. What does the devil seek to do in this passage? In the parable of the sower, the seed that fell beside the road was trampled underfoot, and the birds of the air ate it up. Jesus explained that the seed is the Word of God and the seed that fell beside the road represents those who heard the Word. The devil then takes away the Word from their heart, so that they may not believe and be saved. We need to pray that God will prepare the heart so that the seed would take root. H Pray for receptive hearts. Read Matthew 13:15. The lost person is blinded by Satan. But if, in fact, our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. Regarding them: the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers so they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God (2 Corinthians 4:3,4, HCSB). Only God can open their eyes. E Pray that God may open their eyes and ears. Read John 16:8. This will require that they admit they are sinners who face judgment and are in need of the righteousness of Jesus. The Christian, on the other hand, with God s attitude toward sin, will be proactive. The role of the Holy Spirit is to convict of sin. A Pray that they have God s attitude.

Read 2 Corinthians 10:3-4. Praying specifically for a lost individual is warfare. Satan will go to any extent to keep a person lost and in his kingdom. We are involved in praying for and sharing with individuals who need to be rescued from the kingdom of darkness and transferred by God to the kingdom of His dear Son. He has rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son He loves (Colossians 1:13). In this spiritual warfare, we do not fight with weapons of flesh, but with mighty weapons of God. Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces in the heavenly realms (see Ephesians 6:12). R Pray for the person to be rescued. Read 2 Corinthians 5:17. God s desire is for man to experience the transformed life which only is available through a personal encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ. T Pray for a transformed life.

How to Pray Evangelistically Purpose of the skit: To help the believer understand the importance and power of prayer in witnessing Prepare and print a Prayer Commitment Card for each person in the Worship Service. Download the one provided or design your own. Enlist eight people to serve as actors: Persons 1 to 7 will turn over the poster and one will serve as the scripture reader. The Pastor will end the skit. Prepare seven posters. Each poster contains only one of the letters in the word: HEARTS. Give one poster to persons 2-7 that will be performing the skit.
