Introduction This manual is intended to assist with downloading and installing Caravan Club Points of Interest (POI) onto your Garmin Satellite Navigation device. If you require further assistance with the installation of POI files to your device, or any other aspect of it, you should contact Garmin directly - visit www.garmin.com or call 0808 238 0000. These instructions will work for all recent Garmin devices including: GPSMAP 60Cx, GPSMAP 60CSx, GPSMAP 76Cx, GPSMAP 76CSx, GPSMAP 496, etrex Venture Cx, etrex Legend Cx, etrex Vista Cx, nuvi 200, nuvi 200w, nuvi 250, nuvi 250w, nuvi 260, nuvi 270, nuvi 300, nuvi 310, nuvi 350, nuvi 360, nuvi 370, nuvi 610, nuvi 650, nuvi 660, nuvi 670, nuvi 680, nuvi 750, nuvi 760, nuvi 770, StreetPilot c310, StreetPilot c320, StreetPilot c330, StreetPilot c340, StreetPilot C510, StreetPilot C550, Streetpilot i2, StreetPilot i3, StreetPilot i5, StreetPilot 2720, StreetPilot 2730, StreetPilot 7200, StreetPilot 7500, ique M3 & ique M4, Quest 2, Zumo 450, Zumo 500 and Zumo 550. Step 1: Preparation Checklist Checklist of software and equipment needed: A PC running Windows (ideally XP or Vista) Garmin device (fully charged or running from a mains adapter) USB cable for connecting the Garmin to the PC Caravan Club POI files Storing the POIs on your PC Create a folder on your PC (in a place that is easy to locate) called Garmin Store or similar. This is a folder that you will use to store your POI files. Any future POI files can be stored here as well if you wish. If you already have a folder that stores your POI files you can use that instead of setting up the new one. Please note: If you have previously installed other POIs using the Garmin POI Loader software, you should ensure that they are all stored in the same folder as the Caravan Club files. This will ensure you load them alongside the Caravan Club files and do not lose them. Any POIs that came with the Garmin won't be affected. If you have never used the Garmin POI Loader before you can just create the Garmin Store folder as explained above. Garmin POI Loader To install the POIs on your Garmin device, you will need to have Garmin POI Loader installed on your PC. You can download this for free from the Garmin website: http://www8.garmin.com/products/poiloader/ If you already have Garmin POI Loader installed, we recommend you use the most up-to-date version. You can update your version of Garmin POI Loader by clicking on the link shown above. Back-up your device We suggest that you make a full backup of your Garmin before you commence loading POIs. This is a safety precaution and it means that, should any problems occur whilst you are installing POIs, you can always restore your device from the backup. Landis Media Ltd has provided the basis of this user manual, and neither Landis Media or The Caravan Club will be liable for any damage or loss of data to any satellite navigation device. Step 2: Preparing the POI data files The POI files you require can be downloaded from The Caravan Club website, via the link below: http://www.caravanclub.co.uk/satnav You can download POIs for Caravan Club Sites and Caravan Club Certificated Locations. For each, you will need to download two separate files one.csv file (containing the POI data) and one.bmp file (the icon which will appear on your Garmin device). Together, these two files are known as a set. It is essential that both files in a set are titled the same for the Garmin POI Loader to automatically load both files together. You must also ensure that both files are in the same place (e.g. Garmin Store ). To load files onto your Garmin device you will need to download the POI sets you wish to use (Club sites and/or Certificated Locations) into the Garmin Store folder (or other folder you have set up). You should end up with a folder that looks similar to the one shown below: Installing Caravan Club Points of Interest on your Garmin Satellite Navigation device Page 4 of 13

Step 3: Loading the POIs Connecting your device to the PC Now that you have your Garmin Store folder prepared with the required POI files inside, you can start. Connect the Garmin device to the PC using the USB cable and turn it on. Garmin POI Loader should detect that your Garmin device has been plugged in and start up automatically. If it doesn't you need to start it from the PC menu. To do this go to Start > All Programs > Garmin - and select Garmin POI Loader. The screen below will appear: Click on Next to move to the following screen. Installing Caravan Club Points of Interest on your Garmin Satellite Navigation device Page 5 of 13

Synching your device with Garmin POI Loader The Garmin POI Loader will sense your Garmin device and either display it in the dropdown box titled Device: (see image below), or detect it automatically and move on to the next screen. If the screen below is displayed ensure your device is turned on and plugged, then select it from the dropdown menu and click Next. If the Garmin device isn't listed in the dropdown box titled Device: as shown below then try the following: Click Find Device to see if it can located. If not, check the USB cables are properly connected and turn the Garmin device off and on. Click Find Device again. Click on Next to move to the following screen. Loading POIs The following screen is important as it allows a choice between installing new POI categories and removing existing ones. Please note: Any POIs that came with your Garmin device when you purchased it are "coded" into the device and will not be altered by using Garmin POI Loader. However third party POIs (such as speed cameras, low bridges etc.) that have been loaded using Garmin POI Loader will be removed unless they are stored in the folder you are loading currently. Ensure that you have a copy of them saved and, if you want them on your Garmin device, make sure you also copy them into Garmin Store folder (or whichever folder you have chosen to use) so that they will also be loaded. Select the relevant option and then click Next. Installing Caravan Club Points of Interest on your Garmin Satellite Navigation device Page 7 of 13

You will now see the window shown below click on the Browse button: This opens up a Browse for Folder window which you use to find and select the relevant files for your device. Browse to the Garmin Store folder (or the folder you have chosen to use) containing the POI files. The picture below shows the Browse window and the Garmin Store which, in this instance, is on the PCs desktop. Installing Caravan Club Points of Interest on your Garmin Satellite Navigation device Page 8 of 13

Once you have selected the Garmin Store folder, click OK and you ll be returned to the screen below. You have now selected all the POIs to be loaded onto your Garmin device. You should also enter settings in the two drop down boxes below the Browse button. The first is a preference setting. Select either Imperial or Metric depending on your preference. It is important that the second box (In Express Mode.) be set to Manual. If you use the Express option the POI files will all load, but the Garmin device will automatically assign Alerts to some of the POIs. By selecting Manual you can enter the warnings yourself. Once done, click Next. Installing Caravan Club Points of Interest on your Garmin Satellite Navigation device Page 9 of 13

Step 4: POI Warnings and Alerts Garmin POI Loader will now cycle through each POI set that you have loaded and ask you to confirm the settings you require. The options that require setting are: Ignore this file checking this box will stop this file being loaded This file contains proximity alerts points checking this box allows you to set alerts based on your proximity to a POI. You should set these as per your individual preference. Please note: Further proximity settings can be set up through your Garmin device. Please see your device manual for further information on this subject. Garmin POI Loader will now move to the next POI you are loading and present the same options. Continue to set these as per your preferences until complete. Installing Caravan Club Points of Interest on your Garmin Satellite Navigation device Page 10 of 13

Step 5: Completing POI loading The Garmin POI Loader will now automatically load the POIs onto your Garmin device. When the upload is complete, you will see a screen similar to the one below. The screen shows that 2658 POIs have been loaded (this the number of actual locations loaded, not the number of POI sets). When you see this screen then you know that The Caravan Club POIs have been loaded into the Garmin device. Please note: there is a limit to the number of POIs, and POI sets, that can be installed onto you Garmin device - this limit varies for each device and model. See your Garmin device documentation for the recommended number of POIs that can be loaded onto your particular model. All Garmin models can hold the number of POIs included in The Caravan Club Site and Caravan Club Certificated Location files. Completion Loading of POIs to your Garmin device is now complete. You can turn off your Garmin device, exit Garmin POI Loader and unplug the USB cable from the Garmin and the PC. At this point you may want to switch your Garmin device back on to check that the new POIs have been loaded successfully.
