Summary of Scheme of Work Art Year 7 DRAWING PERIOD OF STUDY TERM1 MAIN FOCUS AIMS OBJECTIVES OUTCOMES Investigating Line, Tone, Texture, Form and Shape through recording from natural forms and imagination using a wide variety of black and white media. Explore the work of artists to develop their understanding of media and techniques. To use a variety of media charcoal, felt pen, pencil, chalk, oil pastel etc. exploring their properties and investigating the Basic Elements through observing and recording from natural objects such as plants, shells, skulls, wood etc. and imaginative work. The pupils will work individually and in groups. The development of observational skills. Exploration and analysis of the mark making possibilities of different media. Work in large and small scales. Development of individual choice in the application of media to subject. Development of critical appraisal of their own and others work. Learning new techniques and language. Investigate artists work in conjunction with their own work. A folder of studies leading up to a final piece of work based on the investigation and knowledge acquired during the project. Pupils will be assessed on the work produced in the class and on their homework. CRITERIA FOR SUCCESS Evidence that the student has an understanding of the Basic Elements studied in the term and that they show a growing confidence and progression in the use of media.
