Band (AM/FM) switch Power Source This unit runs on AC power and a 9V battery to keep the clock working when the main wall outlet power is disconnected. AC Power: Plug the AC power cord into the standard household outlet. Caution: Before connecting the unit to power, please make sure your local voltage is the same as marked on the back plate of the unit. Battery Standby: Install a 9V battery (not included) into the battery compartment, and close the lid securely. This battery is to keep the clock running when the AC power is disconnected. - 3 -

OPERATIONAL INSTRUCTIONS Using the Radio 1. Slide the MODE (OFF/ON/AUTO AL) switch to ON. Rotate the VOLUME control towards the front of the unit until a click sound is heard. The JL-206 is now turned ON. Continue to rotate the VOLUME control in the same direction to increase the volume, rotate backward to decrease the volume. 2. Select desired band using the BAND switch. 3. Rotate the TUNING control to find a desired radio station. 4. For better reception, extend the FM antenna wire (located in the rear of the unit) to its full length when you are listening to an FM station. Move the unit to an open place and adjust the direction when receiving an AM station. 5. To end radio operation, set the MODE (OFF/ON/AUTO AL) switch to OFF. Setting the Clock 1. Press and hold the TIME SET button. 2. Press the HOUR/MINUTE SET buttons to choose the correct time. Setting the Alarm 1. Press and hold the ALARM SET button, then press and/or hold the HOUR/MINUTE SET buttons to choose a desired alarm time. 2. Rotate the VOLUME control backward until a click sound is heard. The unit is now OFF and set to BUZZER. 3. Slide the MODE (OFF/ON/AUTO AL) switch to AUTO, the alarm indicator will illuminate. With the alarm time set, the alarm (buzzer) will sound automatically when the clock time reaches the alarm time. 4. To pause the alarm temporarily and sleep an additional 9 minutes, press the SNOOZE button. The buzzer will stop, sounding again 9 minutes later. 5. To stop the alarm, press the ALARM SET button, or slide the MODE (OFF/ON/AUTO AL) switch to OFF. Wake to Radio 1. Set the alarm time as described above. 2. Slide the MODE (OFF/ON/AUTO AL) switch to ON. Turn on the unit and tune to desired broadcasting station following steps in Using to the Radio (above). 3. Rotate the VOLUME control backward until a click sound is heard. The unit is now ON. Continue to rotate the VOLUME control in the same direction to increase the volume, rotate backward to decrease the volume. 4. Set the MODE (OFF/ON/AUTO AL) switch to AUTO. At the pre-set alarm time, the radio will turn on automatically. - 4 -

OPERATIONAL INSTRUCTIONS Sleep (Auto-Stop) Function To switch off the radio playback automatically (time ranges between 1 hour, 59 minutes and 1 minute) before you fall asleep, follow these instructions: 1. Start radio playback following the instructions above. 2. Press and hold the SLEEP button. 3. Press the HOUR SET button to select hour (1 or 0), then press the MINUTE SET button to select from 59 minutes to 1 minute as desired. 4. After the preset time, the radio playback will stop automatically. Cleaning the cabinet Do not use polish solvents or strong detergents to clean the unit. The cabinet can be cleaned with a piece of soft cloth soaked with little water. The power plug should ALWAYS be disconnected from the main power supply during the cleaning. Troubleshooting When the instructions in this manual are followed, this unit should function properly. However, if any of the following difficulties occur and cannot be corrected by the user or if a problem arises that is not mentioned here, please contact jwin Customer Service or a qualified service technician. 1. Unit Does Not Play Unit may be disconnected from power source. Check connection. 2. No Sound, Distorted Sound or Feedback Volume control is turned down. Please increase. The unit may be located where there is vibration. Move unit if necessary. 3. Radio Reception is Unclear Radio station frequency may be weak. Adjust antenna or move near a window. 4. Alarm does not function The unit may not be set properly. Set to AUTO or BUZZ. - 5 -

Ventilation warning: "The normal ventilation of the product shall not be impeded for intended use." (Minimum distances must be kept around the apparatus for sufficient ventilation, especially while use of the apparatus is in tropical and/or moderate climates.) INSTRUCTIONS ON ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION Do not dispose of this product in the usual household garbage at the end of its life cycle; bring it to a collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic appliances. This symbol on the product means the instructions for use or the packing will inform about the methods for disposal. The materials are recyclable as mentioned in its marking. By recycling, material recycling, or other forms of re-utilization of old appliances, you make an important contribution to protect the environment. RETAIN INSTRUCTIONS - The safety and operating instructions should be retained in a secure place for future reference. 3. HEED WARNINGS - All warnings on the appliance and in the operating instructions should be observed. 4. FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS - All operating and use instructions should be followed. 5. HEAT - The appliance should be situated away from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other appliances (including amplifiers) that produce heat. 8. POWER SOURCES - The appliance should be connected to a power supply only of the type described in the operating instructions or as marked on the appliance. 9. GROUNDING AND POLARIZATION - Precautions should be taken to ensure that the grounding or polarization of the appliance is correct. 10. POWER CORD PROTECTION - Power supply cords should be routed so that they are not likely to be walked on or obstructed by items placed upon or against them. Pay particular attention to cords at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point at which they exit from the appliance. 11. CLEANING - The appliance should be cleaned only as recommended by the manufacturer. 12. POWER LINES - An outdoor antenna should be located away from power lines. 13. NONUSE PERIODS - The power cord of the appliance should be unplugged from the outlet when the appliance is to be left unused for an extended period of time. 14. WALL OR CEILING MOUNTING - If the appliance is mounted to a wall or ceiling, it should be mounted only as recommended by the manufacturer. 17. DAMAGE REQUIRING SERVICE - The appliance should be serviced by qualified service professional when: a. The power-supply cord or plug has been damaged. b. Objects have fallen into, or liquid has been spilled into the appliance s apertures. c. The appliance has been exposed to rain. d. The appliance has been dropped and suffered damage. e. The appliance does not appear to operate normally or exhibits a marked change in performance. 18. SERVICING - The user should not attempt to service the appliance beyond that described in the user's operating instructions. All other servicing should be referred to qualified service professional. 19. PROTECTIVE ATTACHMENT PLUG - The appliance is equipped with an attachment plug that has an overload protection. This is a safety feature. If replacement of the plug is required, be sure the service technician has used a replacement plug specified by the manufacturer that has the same overload protection as the original plug.
