Animals being Crossed Over must pre-register by the deadline to Open Class Superintendent. RULES 1. 4-H members must be present to show their poultry in showmanship. Another 4-H member may exhibit the poultry in breed classes if necessary. 2. All poultry that do not fit in a breed standard, should be entered as a crossbred. Crossbreeds will be judged on condition, not type. Recognized breeds will be judged separately if numbers warrant. 3. All poultry must have a numbered leg band. No un-banded animals will be allowed entry. 4. Market Chickens: All breeds compete together and birds will be weighed at the Fair. 5. Eggs: Eggs should be brought to the Poultry Barn Superintendent or their representative. They will be judged on interior and exterior quality and uniformity. Judging will be Thursday. 6. Absolutely no For Sale signs and no selling of animals allowed in the barn. There will be no removal of any animals until after fair. 7. The Oregon 4-H Showmanship procedure will be used. Animals being Crossed Over must pre-register by the deadline to Open Class Superintendent. RULES 1. 4-H members must be present to show their rabbits/cavies in showmanship. Another 4-H member may exhibit their animal in the breed classes if they are pre-approved by the rabbit/cavy superintendent. Members will carry their rabbits to the judging table and show them while they are being judged. 2. 4-H rabbit/cavy may be disqualified for any of the following defects or ailments: Crooked feet, legs, spine, neck or tail; blindness, absence of tail or ears; pot belly, missing or buck teeth; rupture; vent disease, or infected sores. They may be placed down, but not disqualified for being over and underweight for their age class or for having other defects or ailments. All ARBA rules apply. 3. Any rabbit that has a permanent defect will be placed in the white ribbon group. Any rabbit that has a correctable problem shall, at the judges discretion, be placed in the Red or White ribbon group. 4. Tattoo number must be in the left ear of all rabbits. Tattooing will be provided upon entry for a fee of $1.00 per animal. No unmarked animals will be allowed entry. Cavy must have a tag in their left ear. 5. All rabbit/cavy s will have toenails trimmed or be disqualified. 6. Any rabbit/cavy that does not fit in a breed standard, should be entered as crossbreed. Crossbred class will be judged on condition, not breed type. 7. Absolutely no For Sale signs and no selling of animals allowed in the barn. There will be no removal of any animals until after fair. 8. Frozen water bottles are recommended for use in pens while at the County Fair. 9. Market rabbits to be judged on conformation, condition and uniformity, all breeds competing. 10. Pelts must have been taken from rabbits owned by the 4-H member during the current year and must have been skinned, stretched and prepared by the exhibitor. Pelts shall be cased (flesh side out and not cut open) and dry. They will be divided into sub-classes by weight for judging - fryer pelts, 2½ to 4 ounces; baker pelts, 4-8 ounces; and mature pelts, over 8 ounces. Freedom from holes, flesh or fat, mildew, hutch stains and general condition of the pelt will be considered as well as the density, texture, and quality of the fur. Each member is limited to a maximum of two pelts. They may be in the same class. 11. Rabbit/cavy s under 6 weeks will not be allowed in the barn. Rabbit/cavy must be at least 8 weeks old to show. Rabbit/cavy 6 to 8 weeks old allowed for doe/sow and production records. No pregnant animals. It is the responsibility of 4-H er to provide an escape proof cage. 12. Rabbit/Cavy may be placed in older age class if weight (according to ADGA standards for specific breed) is too heavy. No rabbit/cavy may be shown in a younger class.
