IBM Rational Rhapsody NoMagic Magicdraw: Integration Page 6/9 1. INTRODUCTION This document describes how to import models created in NoMagic Magicdraw into Rhapsody. 2. REQUIRED SOFTWARE - IBM Rational Rhapsody version 8.0.3 or higher. - NoMagic MagicDraw version 17.0.3 or higher. The Toolkit runs on Windows platforms, with any Java 1.5 virtual machine (JSDK or JRE 1.5.x or higher). 3. EXPORTING FROM NOMAGIC MAGICDRAW Please follow instructions in NoMagic MagicDraw for more details. For exporting a model, please choose File>Save Project As... Extensible Markup Language *.xml: 4. IMPORTING XMI FILE TO IBM RATIONAL RHAPSODY Import XMI in Rhapsody, through the XMIToolkit. a. Launch the XMIToolkit importer b. Select the xmi file previously exported by NoMagic MagicDraw

IBM Rational Rhapsody NoMagic Magicdraw: Integration Page 8/9 5. LIMITATIONS MagicDraw Rhapsody Limitation The Recursive Messages are drawn with only one Execution Occurrence in Rhapsody. The Messages between an Interaction Use and a Life Line can t be drawn in Rhapsody. The messages between a Life Line and the side of the Sequence Diagram can t be drawn in Rhapsody The names of the Accept Event Action are not displayed.

IBM Rational Rhapsody NoMagic Magicdraw: Integration Page 9/9 The Activity Parameter Nodes which are on the side of the Diagram, can t be drawn in Rhapsody. The Horizontal Activity Partition doesn t exist in Rhapsody, so it can t be drawn. Some Default Transitions are not drawn in Rhapsody.
