4) Department General Informations : History of the Corporation : The Karnataka Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation was established by the Government of Karnataka on 20.03.1975 for the economic Development of Scheduled castes and Scheduled Tribes. It was renamed as Dr. B.R.Ambedkar Development Corporation Ltd on 16.08.2005 At Present the corporation is implementing economic development programmes for the Scheduled caste only. Selected Scheduled Caste Beneficiaries will be provided subsidy (from the Corporation) and loan from Nationalised/Scheduled/ Rural Banks for taking up different self employment activates. For the units where the unit cost is less than Rs. 1.00 lakh, 50% will be subsidy subject to a maximum of Rs. 35000/- and the remaining amount will be sanctioned by Banks as loan at the existing rate of interest. Activities : Petty shop/provision store/fancy store/bangle Store/ Fruit and vegetable shop/tailoring shop/dairy/bullock and Cart etc. 2) Dairy Scheme Bank Linked Scheme Two Milking cross breed cows or two improved verity buffaloes will be provided The components in the unit are following. 1) 2 cross breed cows/buffaloes (6 LPD) Rs. 70000 2) 2 cross breed cows/buffaloes (8 LPD) Rs. 80000 3) 2 cross breed cows/buffaloes (10 LPD) Rs. 90000 4) 2 cross breed cows/buffaloes (12 LPD) Rs. 100000 Unit cost includes. Insurance, Transportation And cows food. The unit cost includes Bank loan 45% promoters contribution 5% subsidy 50% will be subject to a maximum of Rs. 50000/-

3) I.S.B. PROGRAMME (ABOVE RS. 1.00 LAKH) Bank Lined Scheme Scheduled caste persons can taken up industry, service and business activities. Unit cost varies from Rs. 1.00 lakh and above. The unit cost includes 62% Bank Loan beneficiary contribution 5% subsidy 33% will be subject to a maximum of Rs. 2.00 lakh Activities : Readymade garments/advocate office/brick Making/ Tractor & trailer/auto rickshaw/fertilizer shop/passenger vehicle/ Transport vehicle/silk reeling/beauty parlour/poultry/pig rearing/ leather work/dtp Centre/Orchestra/Electrical Shop/Flour mill and other viable business and transportation. 4) LAND PURCHASE SCHEME : The landless agricultural labourers belonging to Scheduled caste (women) are provided financial assistance for purchase of 2 acres dry or 1 acre wet/bagayath land enabling them to make land owners. (even 1 to 2 acres of dry land or ½ to 1 acre wet land can also be purchased in special circumstances.) Unit cost is Rs. 10.00 lakhs which includes Rs. 5.00 lakhs subsidy and Rs. 5.00 lakhs term loan. 5) GANGA KALYANA YOJANE : 1) Individual irrigation Borewell Programme: The scheduled caste beneficiaries having 1. ½ to 5 acres of land are selected the borewells are drilled, pumpsets are installed and energized by the Corporation. Unit cost is Rs. 2.00 lakhs which includes Rs. 1.50 lakh subsidy and Rs. 0.50 lakh NSCFDC term loan. Rate of Interest is 6% for term loan and the repayment period is 16 half years. 6) MICRO FINANCE (SHG) SCHEME: Scheduled Caste beneficiaries of urban and rural areas will be provided financial assistance for taking up small business activities. Unit cost is R. 15000/- which includes Rs. 10000/- subsidy and Rs. 5000/- margin money. Rate of interest for margin money is 4%

7) SAFAI KARMACHARIES REHABILITATION PROGRAMME: Safai Karmacharies and Their dependents have been identified and the rehabilitation of these persons in being done in stages. For unit cost upto Rs. 1.00 lakh, 50% is provided as subsidy subject to a maximum of Rs. 25000/- remaining is term loan from NSKFDC Above Rs. 1.00 lakh, 5% is the beneficiary contribution, 5% is margin money and the remaining 90% is term loan from NSKFDC. Activities: 1. Unit cost upto Rs. 1.00 lakh petty shop/provision store/bangle stores/fancy stores/pan beeda shop/tailoring shop/dairy etc. 2. Unit cost above Rs. 1.00 lakh Readymade garments/advocates office/ brick making/tractor & trailor/autorickshaw/fertilizer shop/transport vehicle/passenger vehicle/leather work/dtp centre/orchestra/electrical shop/flour mill etc. 8) ASSISTANCE TO PHYSICALLY HANDICAPED: Physically Handicaped belonging to scheduled caste are providing financial assistance for taking economic activities under Micro Credit-1. Unit cost is Rs. 25000/- which includes Rs. 10000/- subsidy and Rs. 15000/- margin money. 6) Facilities/Services provided by the department and procedure to get facilities/services. Eligibility criteria for availing Financial assistance under various schemes of the corporation. The applicant should belong to scheduled caste category The applicant should be a resident of Karnataka for the last 15 years. The age of the applicant should be between 18 to 60 years. The applicant or any of the family members should not be an employee of Government/Semi Government. The applicant or any of the family members should not have borroud earlier from the Corporation and not defaulters. The applicant should have sufficient knowledge and experience in the activities which he want to take up.

Annual income of the applicant family should not be more than Rs. 81000/- in rural area Rs. 103000/- in urban area. Procedure of selection of Beneficiaries: The beneficiaries have to be selected in the committee headed by the MLA. The selection should be in accordance with the physical and financial targets fixed. Reservation of 33.33% for women and 5% for Physically handicapped has to be followed. All sub castes coming under the scheduled caste category are to be given representation. Persons whose lands are near to the electric line have to be given preference under Ganga Kalyana Scheme. * * * * * *
