House of Prayer Praying God s Word
The Lord s Prayer In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. (Matthew 6:9-13) Introduction Jesus boldly declared upon entering the temple in Jerusalem, My House shall be called a House of Prayer for all nations! In view of this call to prayer, let s turn to Him and learn both how to pray by looking to The Lord s Prayer, and what to pray, by praying directly from God s Word. When Jesus said, in this manner, He taught us how to pray not for the purpose of vain repetition, but for our instruction in calling on the name of the Lord. This prayer is powerful in its simplicity and its completeness. The prayers in this booklet are from God s Word, the what to pray. They are grouped into sections based upon the order of The Lord s Prayer. Let s agree together in prayer, understanding that all the promises of God are yes and amen in Jesus (2 Corinthians 1:20).

Hallowed be Your name... Prayer of Worship Heavenly Father we call upon Your name, and we cry out holy, holy, holy, are you Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come! You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created. Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honor and glory and blessing... and power be to Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever! Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the saints! Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy. For all nations shall come and worship before You, for Your judgments have been manifested. O come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, and the great King above all gods... O come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand. Father, we hallow, praise and honor Your holy name! Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven... Prayer of Desperate Invitation Revelation 11:15 Psalm 22:28 Hebrews 6:4 Galatians 1:4 1 Kings 8:60-61 Romans 12:2 Jeremiah 1:12 Jeremiah 33:3 1 John 5:14 Isaiah 55:11 Lord, we thank You that the kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ. We rejoice that the kingdom is Yours and that You rule over the nations. We are grateful, O God that You allow Your people to taste the kingdom powers of the age to come, right now. We bless You that You have delivered us from this present evil age and are now acting among us with future kingdom power... that all the peoples of the earth may know that the LORD is God; there is no other. Our hearts will be loyal to You the LORD our God, to walk in Your statutes and keep Your commandments. Father, we pray with desperation for You to invade this broken, hurting world with redeeming love and power from heaven. May everything in the lives of Your people come under the Kingship and Lordship of Jesus. May everything in this world become submitted to the perfect will of God. We thank You Father that You said, I am ready to perform My Word. And that if we would call to You, that You will answer us, and show us great and mighty things. Now this is the confidence that we have in You, that if we ask anything according to Your will, You hear us. We take our stand believing that as Your word goes forth from Your mouth; it shall not return void, but it shall accomplish what You please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which You sent it. Revive Your church, awaken the lost! We pray, Your kingdom come here, now, in our midst, in our time, and that Your will would happen here, even as it does in heaven. For the King and His kingdom, In Jesus Name... Praying God s Word 5
Prayer for Revival O LORD, revive Your work in the midst of the years! In the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy. Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You? Show us Your mercy, LORD, and grant us Your salvation. Come, and let us return to the LORD; for He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up. After two days He will revive us; on the third day He will raise us up, that we may live in His sight. O God, may we know, and let us pursue the knowledge of the LORD. Your going forth is established as the morning; You will come to us like the rain, like the latter and former rain to the earth. For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, with him who has a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. O Lord, we are Your people, who are called by Your name, and we humble ourselves, and pray and seek Your face, we turn from our wicked ways. O God, thank you that you promise that You will hear from heaven, and will forgive our sin and heal our land. Help us to stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; that we will find rest for our souls. Prayer for Awakening John 3:16-17 Proverbs 14:12 2 Corinthians 4:3-4 John 6:44 John 16:7-8 Matthew 9:37-38 Luke 19:10 Ephesians 5:14 Lord God, thank you that You so loved the world that You gave Your only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Father, You did not send Your Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. Thank You Father that You are not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance and life. So, God we pray that you would remove any obstacles for those to whom Your gospel is veiled, for it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, Lord help them to believe, so that the light of the gospel of Your glory Jesus, the image of God, would shine on them. Lord Jesus we know that no one can come to You unless the Father who sent You draws him; so Lord would you draw them to Yourself. And send your Holy Spirit, the Helper to come; and convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment. For the harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore we pray to You, the Lord of the harvest, to send out laborers into Your harvest. For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost. Jesus we cry out with you: Awake, you who sleep, arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light. In the name of Jesus, the Risen Savior... Praying God s Word 7
Give us this day our daily bread... Prayer for Provision Heavenly Father, You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear. In the day of trouble we will call upon You, for You will answer us. LORD You are our shepherd; we shall not want. You make us to lie down in green pastures; You lead us beside the still waters. You restore our souls; You lead us in the paths of righteousness for Your name s sake. Yea, though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we will fear no evil; for You are with us; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort us. We will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for You alone, O LORD, make us dwell in safety. Therefore we do not worry, saying, What shall we eat? or What shall we drink? or What shall we wear? For You, heavenly Father know that we need all these things. Lord, help us to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, and we trust that all these things shall be added to us. Therefore, we do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about it s own things. Sufficient for the day is it s own trouble. So, we thank you God that You shall supply all our need according to Your riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Psalms 46:1-2 Psalms 86:7 Psalms 23:1-4 Psalms 4:8 Matthew 6:31-34 Philippians 4:19 In the name of Jesus, The Bread of Life... 8 House of Prayer
Prayer for Guidance Proverbs 3:5-6 Psalms 18:28 Psalms 19:8 Colossians 1:9-11 Ephesians 1:17-19 Psalms 73:23-24 O Lord, help us to trust in You with all our heart, and lean not on our own understanding; but in all our ways to acknowledge You, and allow You to direct our path. For You will light our lamp; O LORD our God and will enlighten our darkness. Thank you that Your statutes are right, rejoicing the heart; and Your commandments are pure, enlightening the eyes; and so we ask that You would fill us with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that we may walk worthy of You Lord, fully pleasing You, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of You our God; strengthened with all might, according to Your glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy. That You, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to us the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Jesus. That the eyes of our understanding being enlightened; that we may know what is the hope of Your calling, what are the riches of the glory of Your inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of Your power toward us who believe, according to the working of Your mighty power. Thank you that You are continually with us; that You hold us by Your right hand, and will guide us with Your counsel. In the name of Jesus, The Light of the World... Praying God s Word 9
Prayer for Strength We seek you O LORD, and we know that You hear us, and deliver us from all our fears. In the day when we cry out, You answer us, and make us bold with strength in our souls. Thank You LORD that You are on our side; we will not fear. What can man do to us? For You God have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. And in You Jesus, we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in You. So, we fear not, for You are with us; we will not be dismayed, for You are our God. You will strengthen us, yes, You will help us, and You have promised to uphold us with Your righteous right hand. Therefore, since we have such hope, we use great boldness of speech praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints and that utterance may be given to us, that we may open our mouths boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which we are ambassadors; that we may speak boldly, as we ought to speak. Now, Lord, grant to Your servants that with all boldness we may speak Your word, by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus. Psalms 34:4 Psalms 138:3 Psalms 118:6 2 Timothy 1:7 Ephesians 3:12 Isaiah 41:10 2 Corinthians 3:12 Ephesians 6:18-20 Acts 4:29-30 In the name of Jesus, the strong Son of God... 10 House of Prayer
Prayer for Perseverance Luke 18:27 Romans 8:31 James 1:4 2 Timothy 2:1 Colossians 3:2 Colossians 3:23 John 16:33 Romans 8:18 Romans 8:37 Romans 8:39 Romans 8:28 2 Timothy 4:5 2 Timothy 4:7 Philippians 4:13 Philippians 1:6 Philippians 4:4 Lord Jesus, we depend on You for we know that the things which are impossible with men are possible with You, and that if God be for us, who can be against us? Lord we pray that we would let patience have its perfect work, that we may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. That we would be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. Setting our minds on things above, not on things on the earth. That whatever we do, we do it heartily, as to You Lord and not to men. You have told us in advance that in this world we will have tribulation; but to be of good cheer, because You have overcome the world. And so we consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Yet in all these things, we are more than conquerors through Your love for us. And we believe that nothing can separate us from Your love, O God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love You, to those who are the called according to Your purpose. So Lord, help us to be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, and fulfill our ministry. We want to fight the good fight, finish the race, keep the faith. We believe that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Lord, we are confident of this very thing, that You have begun a good work in us, and that You will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ, and so we rejoice in You Lord always. Again we say, rejoice! In the name of Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith... Praying God s Word 11
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors... Prayer of Repentance Lord, as we draw near to You, draw near to us that we may cleanse our hands, from sin; and purify our hearts, we can be so double-minded. We lament and mourn and weep! Let our laughter be turned to mourning and our joy to gloom. We humble ourselves in Your sight O Lord, and wait on You to lift us up. If we cover our sins we will not prosper, but if we confess and forsake them we will have mercy. So we rend our hearts, and not our garments; we return to You the LORD our God, for You are gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness; and You relent from doing harm. We repent therefore, that our sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from Your presence. We acknowledge our sin to You, and our iniquity we will not hide. We confess our transgressions to You LORD, and You forgive the iniquity of our sin. Thank You for Your promise that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Lord, we seek your forgiveness. Thank You that in Jesus, You have forgiven the iniquity of Your people; You have covered all our sin. Lord, You are the one who blots out our transgressions for Your own sake; and You will not remember our sins. We receive Your forgiveness now. James 4:8-10 Proverbs 28:13 Joel 2:13 Acts 3:19 Psalms 32:5 1 John 1:9 Psalm 85:2 Isaiah 43:25 In the name of Jesus, The Lamb of God... 12 House of Prayer
Prayer to Forgive Others Psalms 85:2 Psalm 103:11-12 Ephesians 4:32 Luke 23:34 Matthew 6:14 Colossians 3:13 Ephesians 1:7 James 5:16 For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You. For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is Your mercy toward those who fear You; as far as the east is from the west, so far have You removed our transgressions from us. You have called us to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as You in Christ forgave us. Lord help us to have the same attitude that Jesus did, towards those who have wronged us, when He said, Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do. For if we forgive men their trespasses, You, heavenly Father, will also forgive us. So please help us to bear with one another, and forgive one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave us, so we also must do. We can do all of this Lord Jesus because in You we have redemption through Your blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of Your grace. Give us humility and courage to confess our trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that we may be healed. Thank you that the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. In the name of Jesus, Our Merciful Savior... Praying God s Word 13
And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one... Prayer of Deliverance from Temptation Father, we thank You that no temptation has overtaken us except that which is common to man; and that You are faithful, You will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that we may be able to bear it. Lord Jesus, we pray for Your deliverance; for You are our strength in the time of trouble. And You shall help us and deliver us; You Lord, shall deliver us from the wicked, and save us, because we trust in You. You O LORD also will be our refuge when we are oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. Thank you that You have declared, My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness. And again You have said, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. So we say then: We will walk in the Spirit, and we shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Therefore we submit to You O God. You give us strength to resist the devil and he will flee from us. Help us to be strong in You Lord and in the power of Your might. Lord, we put on the whole armor of God, that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Our prayer is that we not be overcome by evil, but that we overcome evil with good. Because He who is in us is greater than he that is in the world. 1 Corinthians 10:13 Psalms 37:39-40 Psalms 9:9 2 Corinthians 12:9 Ezekiel 36:25-27 Galatians 5:16 James 4:7 Ephesians 6:10-11 Romans 12:21 1 John 4:4 In the name of Jesus, Our Deliverer... 14 House of Prayer
Prayer of Deliverance from Evil Luke 10:17-20 Philippians 2:9-11 Ephesians 1:20-23, 2:6 Isaiah 54:17 Psalm 32:7 Revelation 12:11 Father, we re so grateful that You have given us all the power over every evil spirit. You have given us authority to trample on all the power of the enemy and every demon is subject to us in Your glorious, powerful Name. Father, we rejoice that You have highly exalted Jesus and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Thank you for seating us in heavenly places, at Your right hand, far above all principality and power and might and dominion and every name that is named. We thank You that no weapon formed against us shall prosper. We rejoice that You are our hiding place; You shall preserve us from trouble; You shall surround us with songs of deliverance. By faith, as redeemed and favored children of God, we exercise our rights, privileges, and promises, to overcome the enemy by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony. In the conquering, mighty, authoritative Name of Jesus... Praying God s Word 15
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever... Prayer of Faith O LORD God of our fathers, You are God in heaven, and You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations, and in Your hand there is power and might, so that no one is able to withstand You! You are our God, Who drives out our enemies before us. LORD God of heaven, O great and awesome God, You who keep Your covenant and mercy with those who love You and observe Your commandments, please let Your ear be attentive and Your eyes open, that You may hear the prayer of Your servants which we pray before You now. Yours, O LORD, is the greatness, the power and the glory, the victory and the majesty; for all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O LORD, and You are exalted as head over all. Both riches and honor come from You, and You reign over all. In Your hand is power and might; in Your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all. Now therefore, our God, we thank You and praise Your glorious name. Help us hold firm to Your promise, that if we can believe, all things are possible to us, that whatever things we ask in prayer, believing, we will receive, and whatever we ask You in Jesus name You will give us. Help us trust that if we abide in You, and Your words abide in us, we will ask what we desire, and it shall be done for us. Lord, because Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory, we know everything is possible with You. Lord Jesus, You told us, that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that you ask, it will be done for you by My Father in heaven. So, we agree that Your kingdom, Your power and Your glory will be poured out upon us and through us for Your honor in glory, forever and ever! 2 Chronicles 20:6-7 Nehemiah 1:5-6 Mark 9:23 Matthew 21:22 John 16:23 John 15:7 Mark 10:27 Matthew 18:19 In the matchless name of Jesus, Our soon-coming King... 16 House of Prayer Amen.
