DECT Servers and Accessories Spectralink Base for DECT Server 2500, 6500 and 8000 The Spectralink base controls the cordless channel traffic and acts as a link between the Spectralink handset and the Spectralink DECT Server 2500, 6500 or 8000. The Spectralink IP-DECT Server 2500, 6500 or 8000 controls the Spectralink IP base via standard Ethernet PoE LAN cable (CAT5 or better). Depending on the Spectralink base, it has a 50 to 600 meter range. The coverage area varies by local conditions, e.g. building materials. The specific locations must be analyzed prior to installation to determine the number of bases required for the desired coverage. Spectralink Repeater for DECT-Server 400, 6500, 2500 and 8000 The Spectralink repeater is a component used to extend the coverage of a Spectralink solution. While the Spectralink repeater does not increase the number of data traffic channels, it does provide for a greater physical spread of the channels, thus extending the area covered by the Spectralink bases. Spectralink repeaters are mainly used in areas with limited data t r a ff i c. The Spectralink repeater is wireless and doesn t require a physical connection to the Spectralink IP-DECT server. This makes it extremely easy to install. The Spectralink repeater is available with external directional antenna for cordless coverage in remote areas without wiring to the rest of the system. 26
