INTRODUCTION This guide pertains to the DoD identification (ID) cards and benefits eligible populations identified in DoD Manual (DoDM) 1000.13, Volume 1, DoD ID Card Life-Cycle, and DoDM 1000.13, Volume 2, Benefits for Members of the Uniformed Services, Their Dependents, and Other Eligible Individuals. Please refer to DoDM 1000.13, Volume 2, for eligibility requirements. The tables within this guide identify the DoD ID card type and expiration date rules for eligible individuals, as they are stored in the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS). If there is a conflict between these guidelines and the manual, the provisions in the manual take precedence. When there is a choice of two or more expiration dates within this guide, the earliest expiration date takes precedence. 2 INTRODUCTION
