No. Are there any regulations with handling food and/or samples at fairs, shows or home parties? Regulations for food handling vary from county to county. In regard to providing food samples at fairs and shows, it is the responsibility of the Velata Consultant to learn their local health department's regulations, and work with the fair/show management company to understand the specific requirements. GUIDE What is the difference between a product that contains an allergen and one that may contain an allergen? Every vendor we work with provides detailed information about the allergen properties for the raw ingredients of each product and which allergens, if any, are produced in the same facility as the product. If an allergen is included in the list of ingredients, we will identify it by stating that the product contains the allergen. However, if an allergen is not an ingredient, but the ingredients are manufactured in a facility that also processes certain allergens, we will point out that a product may contain those allergens since there is potential for trace amounts to be present due to cross-contact in manufacturing and packaging. An allergen found in the does not contain category is neither an ingredient in the product nor is it present in the manufacturing and packaging of the product. CLASSIQUE CREPE MIX Gluten Eggs Fish What are the ingredients in Classique Crepe Mix? All-purpose flour, low-fat milk alternative, butter powder, sugar, kosher salt. How many crepes does one pouch make? One pouch makes about 45 crepes. Does Classique Crepe Mix have an expiration date? No. Classique Crepe Mix is shelf stable and does not have an expiration date. MELTABLES trace amounts: Gluten Eggs Fish What is the difference between Meltables and Premium Belgian Chocolate? Meltables are a confectionary candies ideal for molding, coating and other candy crafting and doesn t require tempering (the heating and cooling of chocolate to make it usable for crafting). Are Meltables real chocolate? No. To be designated as real chocolate, a product must contain cocoa butter and cocoa liquor. Instead, Meltables contain palm kernel oil, which makes it much easier to work with for molding, coating and other candy crafting. What are the ingredients in Meltables? Chocolate Flavor: sugar, partially hydrogenated palm kernel oil, cocoa powder, nonfat dry milk solids, whole milk solids, reduced mineral whey powder, soy lecithin, salt and artificial flavor. Are Meltables pouches microwave safe and BPA-free? Yes. Can I melt Meltables directly in the warmer? Yes. The confectionery wafers can be removed from the pouch and melted in the warmer. Since Premium Belgian Chocolate contains no fillers or preservatives, you can sometimes see bloom when the sugars and fats separate from the cocoa solids. Cheese Dip contains calcium propionate, a commonly used food preservative. Does Cheese Dip need to be refrigerated prior to opening? Cheese Dip is crafted through an extensive process using high temperatures to create a shelf-stable cheese, which doesn t require refrigeration before opening. How do I warm Cheese Dip? Cheese Dip comes in a container designed to be heated in the microwave. The cheese can then be transferred to a Velata Fondue Warmer to be kept warm. The following heating instructions are printed on the container: 1. Remove film. 2. Microwave 30 seconds. 3. Stir and repeat as necessary. 4. Empty contents into preheated Velata Warmer. Due to the variance in power among microwaves, it is recommended to experiment with heating intervals to achieve your desired temperature and consistency. Can Cheese Dip be heated directly in the warmer? Cheese Dip can be removed from the container and heated in a Velata Fondue Warmer instead of a microwave. Allow one or two hours for the cheese to fully warm to your desired temperature and consistency. We recommend stirring regularly to ensure even heating. How do I heat Cheese Dip if I don t have a microwave? If a microwave is not available, you can heat Cheese Dip on the stove. First, turn on your Velata Fondue Warmer and preheat the warmer dish on high. While the warmer dish is preheating, transfer Cheese Dip to a small sauce pan and warm it on low on the stovetop. Stir regularly until you reach your desired consistency, then transfer to the preheated warmer dish. Due to the time needed to thoroughly warm Cheese Dip, heating only in the warmer dish is not recommended as it could take one to two hours to reach your desired temperature and consistency. At what setting should I warm Cheese Dip in the warmer? For a full container (8 ounces) of Cheese Dip, it is recommended to warm the cheese on high. Stir occasionally and adjust to a lower setting as the cheese is consumed and approaches the bottom of the dish. If you prefer a higher temperature, heat a smaller amount of cheese in the dish. What s the best way to store any leftover cheese once it has been warmed? If any warmed Cheese Dip remains in the dish, let it cool, and then cover with plastic wrap or a warmer lid and store in the refrigerator. Enjoy Cheese Dip for up to seven days after refrigerating.
