Purpose of Translation SAP has provided a translation tool that allows you to translate the majority of texts created in SAP system. You can go through the document for details steps of language translations. http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/b0956fe4-1806-2e10-52b8-9a2ec45ca4b1 Purpose of Transport Transport requests are available to transport the developed objects/configurations from one system to another system. In general, we develop the objects first in Development system and later moved to other systems based on the system landscape. Example: Development system Quality Production Assign Transport Request for Translation Transaction code for SAP translation tool: SE63 Transaction code for translation transport: SLXT 1. Once you are done with your translation and you want to push the translation to your target system, you need a transport request. 2) Run the transaction code SLXT for creation of transport request. a) On the selection screen enter the target language heil here in this scenario, I am using Hebrew as my target language b) Since we need to create a new transport request, make sure Create new Request Check box is ticked as shown below and also give the description to for your transport request. Note: You can also specify the target system where the transport needs to be pushed. This is not shown in here. 2011 SAP AG 3
c) On the execution of the report the transport request will be created, as shown in the below steps. d) You can see the transport request number that has been created, after execution is done in the above step. 2011 SAP AG 4
e) Now you can see the newly created transport request, related to language translation is seen in SE09 / SE10 / SE01 Other Useful Information a) If you want to transport translation that are created on a particular date range then you can use this option. b) Also you can enable delta mechanism, where it keeps track of date and time stamp of the last transport of the translation and translation made after the delta date will be linked to the new request. c) You can specify the object name, Example: Data element and the data element name (as shown below). d) Also you can give the development package, which means objects which are tied to the package are linked to the transport request number. e) You can also assign transport based on the software component. The software component describes a set of objects that are always delivered together. A software component is released in successive versions with new functions. f) If you want the system to check, whether the object exists before it is imported, tick the check box Check if Object Exists g) Client options will allow you to choose all objects / cross client objects / client specific objects. 2011 SAP AG 5
