Innings pitched must be turned in to the Umpire w/ the scores after each game. Innings pitched will be counted based on outs - ie no out & 1 out = 1/3 inning pitched -- 2 out = 2/3 inning pitched. Once a pitcher is removed from the mound, he may not pitch again in that game. 2.Distances: 14U - 17U 60 6 Pitching, 90 Bases -- 13U 54 Pitching, 80 Bases 11U & 12U 50 Pitching, 70 Bases -- 10U 46 Pitching, 65 Bases 7U -- 40 Pitching, 55 Bases -- 8U & 9U 44 6 Pitching, 65 Bases 3. Length of Games: Complete games: 7U to 11U = 6 Innings --- 12U to 17U = 7 Innings In Pool Play games may end in a tie. Cannot start a new inning after 1 hour and 45 minutes In the Championship Round Games, no time limit for the Championship Game. All other games No new inning may start after 1:45 minutes. In case of a tie, the game will be extended using the California rules. ie The inning starts with last batter out on second base, one out and a 1-1 count on all batters. The Home Team will not bat in the bottom half of an inning, if winning, after the time limit has been reached. 4. Mercy Rule: 7U 10 runs after 4 innings --- 8U to 11U 7 runs after 4 innings --- 12U to 17U 7 runs after 5 innings The Mercy Rule applies in all games except in the Championship Game. 5. EH, DH, Roster Batting, and Re-entry. 5A Roster Batting. You may Roster Bat. Teams that roster bat are allowed free defensive substitution, except that a pitcher may not be re-entered as a pitcher. Once a player is removed due to injury, he may not return during the same game. In this case, the batting order simply collapses. A team roster batting must start with a minimum of 9 players and must end the game with 9 players. 5B DH. Either team may elect to use the DH. The DH is not allowed to re-enter as a fielder during the game.(once the game is started their option may not be changed). If the DH is injured another player eligible to enter the game may become the DH. If there is not an available sub then the DH will be recorded as on out when it is his turn to bat.

2015 Mid-Summer Classic Baseball Tournament Rules, Policies and Guidelines(continued) 5C- EH. The Extra Hitter (EH) Rule may be used at an individual team s option. Only 1 extra hitter is allowed per team. (1) The extra hitter may be anyone on the teams official league roster. (2) Application of the rule is optional. One team may choose to employ the option, the opposing team may choose not to do so. (3) The extra hitter is simply an additional person in the batting order who may be placed anywhere in the 10 man batting order (4) The E.H. is an interchangeable part with anyone in the lineup. (Ie: If, for example, the E.H. is moved to 2B in the second inning, the 2B then becomes the E.H. with no change in the batting order.) (5) If a team begins a game using the E.H., they must do so for the duration of the game. (A team with only 10 players would be advised not to employ the E.H.). If a team starts the game using an EH, ie 10 batters, then they must finish the game with 10 batters. If there is not a player on the bench eligible to enter the game as the EH then the EH will be recorded as an out when it is his turn to bat. 5D Re-entry. The high school re-entry shall be in effect. Starters only may re-enter the game one time in their same spot in the batting order. Non starters may not re-enter. This rule does not apply to teams that choose to roster bat. 6. If any player is removed due to injury that occurred on the field, and cannot be replaced legally, he is not out at next at bat, lineup simply collapses. 7. Home team will be determined by a coin flip in pool play. In the single elimination playoff round the higher seed is home team. Each team will provide a scorekeeper with all pitching changes being recorded by home plate umpire. 8. Courtesy runner will be allowed for next inning s catcher at any time. The courtesy runner must be the player who made the last out even if in a previous inning. 9. Metal cleats are prohibited (except for 13U and older). 10. Playoff Seeding: Seeding for playoff rounds will be decided as follows: * Win-Loss Record * Head to Head * Least runs allowed (meaning how many total runs in all Pool games you allowed, the lower the number the better your standing). * Most runs Scored (meaning how many total runs in all Pool games scored, the higher the number the better your standing) * Flip of the coin 11. On-Field warm-ups will not be allowed except for use of the Outfield grass areas. This is only permissible prior to the official start time of a scheduled game and may not interfere with any other game or team. There are absolutely no Walk-On practice or warm up allowed on any un-occupied field. Infield warm up is not permitted on any field in fair or foul territory. 12. At start time, a 15-minute grace period will be used in order to avoid forfeit 13. In case of rain or other uncontrolled event occurring - 4 innings constitutes a complete game. A game suspended past 4 innings, in the middle of an inning will revert back to the score at the end of the prior inning. Reminder, complete pool play games may end in a tie. Incomplete games will only be completed if necessary to determine Championship Round seeding. 14. Every effort will be made to finish tournament but in case of rain, darkness or other acts of God, the Director reserves the right to shorten games or modify schedules in order to finish the event. Rainout policy is as follows: No games started - $150 refund to 7u - $250 refund 8u to 12u - $350 Refund for 13u to 17u. 1 game started -- $100 refund to 7u - $150 refund 8u to 12u - $250 Refund for 13u to 17u -- 2 games started -- $50 refund 7u to 12u -- $100 refund to 13u to 17u. 15. Teams are required to maintain a record of all games in a team scorebook. It is the team's score keeper s responsibility to catch the other team breaking any pitching, illegal lineup, etc rule and bring it to the umpire s attention. All scorebooks must be available upon request by the director at any time during the course of the tournament. Home team is official score keeper, we recommend you check your numbers with the umpire after every inning. The home team scorebook must note pitchers used by both teams and the number of innings pitched. The umpire will submit to the tournament director, the final score and innings pitched by pitcher after each game.
