As children we are taught (one hopes) to respect our parents, teachers, and elders, school rules and traffic laws, family and cultural traditions, other people's feelings and rights, our country's flag and leaders, the truth and people's differing opinions. Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy, First published Wed Sep 10, 2003; substantive revision Mon Jun 21, 2010 Give examples of how we respect each other in school.

Examples for discussion: Respect a teacher s directive. Listen and complete tasks with a positive attitude. Examples: yes, ok, yes ma am, or yes sir. Walk around two people who are talking not in between them Ask to use items that belong to others and respect their answer if they say no. Avoid put downs.
