Zencart Setup This is what you need to set up a web site using zencart package giving you a basic ecommerce site which would have the ability to:- Show the pick and collect products easily. Show some current promotional messages Allow for future products being sold as ecommerce if required You can see what it looks and works like and play with it on our test site at www.epos-systems-software.co.uk To do a site for yourself you need to carry out the following:- A domain name registration. Which can be done with www.123-reg.co.uk or the hosting company can usually arrange it. Once you have decided on a name, search to see if it is available before buying it. Now that you have your domain you will be able to set up a web package for hosting it and this will cover site content needing disk space and email addresses if you haven't got one already. We use Catalyst2 (www.catalyst2.co.uk) and you should ask for unix with php support on the mega deal package. Once you have signed up they will send you loads of emails about username and password and details to get your details uploaded. Just forward these to us and we do the rest. Next comes the set up of an empty site for you with a layout template that looks like the next page This also includes settings for language, meta tags, zone, store settings, tax rates, payment methods including click and collect You will need to consider picture for logo, picture for main page picture for info colour scheme about the company text policy messages If you need professional graphics then we suggest you look at www.istockphoto.com The setup includes the provision of a logo and basic main picture and basic colour change to match on your key colour in your brand colours on your logo This completes the basic site with style of look
Zencart Configuration Zencart is a fully developed product with thousands of users and as such comes with documentation for help on configuring the site to your needs. To configure the site go to the heading labelled catalog where multiple topics are available the ones we suggest are as follows :- Catalog section the categories and products Catalog section the manufacturers which are in fact suppliers Tools section Define pages Tools section Ez pages which allows you to edit the text content of pages like about us, etc Help Zencart has a comprehensive website of knowledge base and tutorials to help you learn and support the site To get to this first select support site then on Zencart s site tutorials/faqs Additional oneoff or ongoing charges:- Any artwork, pictures and text to launch the site above and beyond the template at agreed day rates with provision of pictures from yourselves. I think this eventual solution would put you in line with solutions costing 2 to 3 times this price and also let you develop ecommerce at different levels.
Zencart Addons Modules Magnetic one store manager giving you a web site management tool for easier product creation Easy populate for mass loading of items You would also have to do any website SEO (search engine optimisation) if you do other product in the future, but this would not matter for limited range of pick and collect which you will advertise the use of this service through the garden centre. Web payment would require you to get a payment gateway sorted out usually sagepay. Zencart payment module for paypal is free but you obviously need to sign up Zencart Stock Interface The stock system interface is moving towards pulling down orders automatically, picking and satisfying them and reducing the web stocks level. This is not yet fully developed but will keep you informed on developments and pricing of the eventual module but the target would be like our other software in the 400 to 500 bracket. As one of the first users I could accommodate some ideas from you on the design of this and also reduce the price.
You are allowed to change the main colour, logo, header main and sub picture(moreinfo), button colour, and footer See next page for a live exmaple
