Information and Instruction This document will give you step by step guide to copy the flat file from other application server to BI application server and load through info package with all basic settings. As we know, info package is able to load flat file data from BI application server only and not able to extract the data from the file which is lied on different application or server. Following are the important point. Create the modeling for the flat file data loading and respectively create the data source and info package for that. Standard function module name is ARCHIVFILE_CLIENT_TO_SERVER to copy flat file from different server to BI. This is the standard program given by SAP. The file will be copied to BI server with given path and you can see that from AL11. 2010 SAP AG 3

Step By Step Solution Step 1 Go to Se37 and give the function module name ARCHIVFILE_CLIENT_TO_SERVER. Enter the function module name Archivfile_client_to server Step 2 Then Press F8 or execute the function module. Click on this button or Press F8 to execute the function module. 2010 SAP AG 4

Step 3 After execute the function module below screen will appear. If you want case sensitivity in copying the file, please check this mark. Path is used to define the path from where you want to copy. Targetpath is used to define the destination of BI application server where you want to paste the file. 2010 SAP AG 5

Step 4 Enter the value below PATH and TARGETPATH please use the target file path from the AL11 T code. Step 5 Then Press Execute (F8) and your File will copy to BI server. 2010 SAP AG 6

Step 6 Now you can see the files in AL11 in BI application server under the given destination. Here you can see the file is being copied in this path. Step 7 Now file is available at application server of BI. You have to just select the application server option for adapter in extraction tab of the info package. Give the path of the file ( press F4 and select AL11 files option and then select the file) In Adapter, you have to select load text type file from Application Server. And give the file name. Step 8 After doing this, Click on save button. So that info package is able to load the data from the BI application server. So from above points, you can copy the file in BI sever and extract the data from the BI server using info package. 2010 SAP AG 7
