(Galatians 3:8-9) The Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: "All nations will be blessed through you." {9} So those who have faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith. He met Abraham returning from the defeat of the kings and blessed him, (Hebrews 7:6-7) This man, however, did not trace his descent from Levi, yet he collected a tenth from Abraham and blessed him who had the promises. {7} And without doubt the lesser person is blessed by the greater. (Hebrews 11:20-21) By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau in regard to their future. {21} By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of Joseph's sons, and worshiped as he leaned on the top of his staff. (James 5:11) As you know, we consider blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job's perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy. (1 Peter 3:9) Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. (1 Peter 3:14) But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. "Do not fear what they fear ; do not be frightened."
