1. Preface This document describes the contingency plan of the Technical Faculty - Institute of Technology and innovation. This contingency plan is part of the overall contingency plan at the Faculty of Engineering, which includes Institute of Chemistry, Biotechnology and Environmental Technology,, the administration of the and the Maersk Mc-Kinney Møller institute (the Maersk Mc-Kinney Moeller institute at Campusvej has a contingency plan separate from the contingency plan for the ).

Fire fighting equipment Fire blankets Carbon dioxide extinguishers Water Categories of fires Class A Fire in solid organic materials such as wood, paper, textiles, etc. Fires are best put out with WATER distributed over the embers, not into the flames. Class B Fire in liquids or solid materials which can become liquid, such as petrol, spirits, alcohol, paint, plastic, etc. use CARBON DIOXIDE snow or FIRE BLANKETS. Class C Fire in gases. Most easily put out by shutting off the gas. If this is not possible, fire can be put out by means of CARBON DIOXIDE snow. Class E Fire in electrical installations. Put out the fire by means of CARBON DIOXIDE snow. If possible, turn off power first. People on fire The best way to put out fire is by using WATER. If the fire cannot be extinguished by water, cover the person with a FIRE BLANKET.
